(since full spoilers are complete, I think we can talk about the C2020 and Ikoria cards, but if not, please let me know and/or move thread, thanks!)

Hey all! Every time a new set comes out, my commander group talks about what cards we're going to get from the new set. Commander 2020 and Ikoria were spoiled around the same time and are supposed to release at the same time.

So what cards from Commander 2020 and Ikoria are you excited for? What's making it straight into your decks or what are you going to test?

I'll definitely be playing a deck with Pako, arcane retriever and haldan, avid arcanist. Apart from that, if they end up being reasonably priced I'll also get the tricycle lands for most of the decks that can run them. Apart from those, I'll probably take a look at the new dinos when I get around to doing another upgrade pass of Gishath, but nothing else jumped out to me as an immediate must-own.

Interesting, I presume Haldan, Avid Arcanist lets you play lands that have fetch counters on them? This pair might make a good addition to my Thrasios/Vial Smasher deck.

Yep, which is nice because all the cards exiled with Pako remain playable, even if either or both of my commanders get killed, as long as I can put Haldan back into play.

I do want to remind about dinosaur tribal UB dinosaurs are now higher because of Ikoria plus with the other 2 elder dinosaurs from Ixalan so with morophon you can use all 6 elder dinosaurs now plus the new blue and black ones from ikoria

True I quite like the Labyrinth Raptor.

In addition to Ruinous Ultimatum, Mythos of Vadrok and Lukka, Coppercoat Outcast look like good cards to break stalemates.

For my Thrasios sea creatures deck.

And of course I'll need a Kraken token from the set as well. Frankly two cards is impressive to be added to this deck, which is limited in room. I tend to be highly selective at this point, so I'm very pleased with these additions and the fact I'm making room for them is a sign of my approval. I never expected to admire a single card from this set and now I'm adding two to my favorite deck.

I’ll pick up an Archipelagore just in case but I doubt I will include it.

and idk, probably the ultimatums just to have, though i have no homes for them right now either... there's actually a lot that falls under the 'just to have' category. with money (and events) tight right now i'll most likely be skipping the majority of them. not sure i want to blow cash or store credit on cards that i don't already have set homes for - all in all i figure i'll wait 2-4 weeks regardless since i can't exactly play anywhere but via webcam at the moment so there's no rush on anything

As usual, I am getting all five precons, and a few mutate cards from Ikoria for Illuna. Too many cards from main set to list, though I want to start pondering about companions with decks now.

I've been debating an Atraxa keyword soup deck for a while and had started saving cards for it, but I think I'll switch to Kathril, Aspect Warper now.
I may also try out an Otrimi deck.
And the Triomes, of course, need to go in the appropriate decks.
Luminous Broodmoth may go in several decks.
Ruinous Ultimatum I may need to find a home for.
Yorion will likely end up in multiple decks (Aminatou and Niv_Mizzet Reborn, maybe more)

I am surprised I do not see Drannith Magistrate more. I guess it dies too fast in multiplayer, but for duels it should still lock down their commander for awhile.
