No I didn't forget the x in RBX, I DO MEAN RAKDOS STORM. I think if I add blue to the mix I won't have a storm deck that I would enjoy as it lacks a puzzle element.
bonus round is one of my favorite cards along side past in flames. In addition red tends to lean towards more looting with some recusion support in both black and red for spell sslinger type cards are printed it seems with every set more red spell cards are printex. With the printing of more and more looting effects
Is it possible to just play rakdos ritual storm and manually win off of looting to your yard?
So what commander would you run? What cards can you run to fill some of the gaps?
I'm not opposed to running no holds barred power lvl cards but it must be storm and not fast combo or inf mana hence the 75% tag
It's not impossible, but this is a 40 life format and multiplayer. What specific storm card are you looking to win with? Tendrils of agony, while an excellent card, probably won't do it. Grapeshot likely won't either. Ignite memories might, depening on how your luck tends to run, and dragon storm and empty the warrens certainly would (eventually), but it sounds as if you want to win with spells themselves, not with storming into creatures.
If you're going to win with "storm", then I can only think that for this format, what you really mean is "chaining together a bunch of spells for a win" because that is what storm does. There are some cards that would help this in this format:
Brass's Bounty
Sunbird's invocation
Yawgmoth's will
Bone Miser
Glint-Horn Bucaneer
Waste not
I think a split between wheels and storm would be a good idea. The wheels can help fill of a large past in flames or yawg will while also providing some synergies with Glint-Horn or bone miser. With this in mind it may be cool to helm Anje as they can play a slow resource generation game with squee/similar while also helping to fill the grave for a big turn.
Another good commander may be xantcha as she let's you draw a lot. Malfegor can serve as a board wipe and chainer can ensure vital creatures, like guttersnipe, stay out and about.
Here you go. That's my original idea detailing the history and a change log, but I haven't been on this site enough to keep it updated. This is my most recent public decklist, and I still maintain a second variant of this style of storm that runs different win conditions via empty the warrens with a decklist here. On YouTube there are a few older videos of these two decks with more explanation but the lists are a bit dated.
I have done a few other experimental takes on both the 1v1 and multiplayer design with things like null profusion and paradox engine but found that those routes were not as quick or reliable.
Do note that I have also not tested many new cards. Anje represents the first actually helpful storm commander. Cards like bolas's citadel have only resolved a handful of times in my playgroup, but it's insane with necropotence and fishbowl. I honestly hate wins from fishbowl as it feels like it diminishes the puzzle feel of the deck but due to the raw power of it from citadel and necro I've put it back in.
