How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Tamanoa was something that I felt would have been a great Commander and it even felt like it should have been a Legend.
Seconded. I was planning on building tamanoa and just asking people if they were alright with it, then firesong and sunspeaker was printed. They were close enough for me.

Soulfire Grand Master, just a great Jeskai feel to it and fills a void in Jeskai commander options.
First card I think of when this discussion pops up. So much more playable than Firesong and Sunspeaker - lower cmc, recursion ability, and adding a third color that can help with fixing your draws.
I'm not sure if wiping people's hands turn 4 or turn five really changes anything. I agree mirko is unadulterated disappointment, but your suggestion sure wouldn't be better.
Soldier Commander deck that play like you really had a commander in chief that commands soldier.
Soldiers nowadays plays more hate bear or taxes a like(Talia) than a it used too but with this creatures as legendary they can be at least had a commander title that is more flavorful for their tribal builds compare to the like of Oldric which isn't something that needs to be more soldier build in the deck, the only thing likable for a tribal with Oldric is being a human.

Even the other cards Darien, King of Kjeldor, Preeminent Captain, Captain of the Watch and etc doesn't feel like it had the strong flavor that is usually should had from those pre-modern non-legendary cards.
I would love mono-R instant and sorcery burn to be a thing.
