So looking for some new deck ideas on what to build next. I'm trying to get 1 deck for every color combo, and trying to make them unique in their own ways, so if anyone has any cool deck ideas to spit out I'm open. Mostly I'm just stuck trying to come up with a new deck idea.
Current decks
Looks to me like you need a graveyard deck. I think Marchesa, the black rose is really cool and opens up a lot of creative options. It can be modular, stax... all kinds of options. My deck uses manifest a lot to bring back fatties for free.
I would stay away from tribal stuff since you have 3 tribal decks already. Eventually you can get back.
I think you need to focus on some monocolour deck options.
Marchesa can be a fun deck with dumb shenanigans, definitely agree with Dunharrow in that.
Might I also suggest Ghave, Guru of Spores fungus/saproling tribal? Makes use of a ton of underused and obscure cards, and you can easily fit in a small stax package to boot.
Well, I have completed said challenge... and a couple of extras. I have the names (and loosely speaking, main ideas) in my signature, but I am happy to expand on any of them if any get you curious. They range from aggro to midrange to big dumb battlecruiser, casual to pseudo-competitive, and cover pretty much every playstyle except hard control or stax (just not my cup of tea I've found out).
As for general finding a theme or commander to build around... well, these days I am definitely looking at 'what haven't I done yet in this color combo or a combo that shares colors with this?'. Usually sparked by a new legendary thing being spoiled these days too, as there's very few themes I haven't at least tried out in a deck before, by this point.
A good starting point is picking a commander you like, mull about what themes or mechanics would support said commander and deviate from there. Currently building a Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun deck centering on odd things that make tokens + exalted, with the goal of attacking with just with the one big-dumb token that's also unblockable thanks to Temmet. Silly? You bet. Might get the occasional game where a well-time wrath ruins me? Oh yeah. Still probably fun to pilot and rather very far from your typical Azorius controld deck? Mmmhm.

Well, i have a rakdos the defiler suicide aggro deck that's really fun to play (especially if you like all-in strategies)
I also have a zedruu the greathearted voltron (yes, suit zedruu up with say blue scarab, bravado and spirit mantle. Donate them away, then suddenly, bravado counts all your opponent's token army, blue scarab looks at you as the opponent of the controller, and gleam of authority makes your opponent's avenger of zendikar look a little silly). It's not especially powerful though, and it's well worth telling your opponents that this isn't "that" zedruu. it's a more vicious, voltron-style deck, and not the passive-aggressive lame one.
Thanks for all the suggestions! It helped a bunch and now I have Grixis graveyard shenanigans, UG +1/+1 shenanigans, mono-green enchantments, and UW control (Yes I'm a mad man when it comes to building multiple decks at once)
In the future I think I might try that fungus tribal idea and the BW life shenanigans. Seems like they could be fun decks. Cheers!
I know it's the definition of simplicity, but I really love my Goreclaw deck. It just ramps, puts down fatties, and draws cards with aid of said fatties. It's a veritable parade of fatties, and turning them sideways is a simple, yet deeply satisfying experience. I'm not the Spike-iest player, but I'd never before built a deck wholly in the spirit of Timmy, and I love it.

One other interesting one that you might wanna look at is the 'life-control' style deck. Use say selenia, dark angel, and other cards that lets you pay life indiscriminately, and couple that with things like children of korlis, tainted remedy, repay in kind, sanguine bond, exquisite blood, Triskaidekaphobia, reverse the sands, mirror universe. It's somewhat silly, but it can win out of nowhere, and somehow knock people out of the game before they know it.
And i've a mono blue blind seer colour-control deck. think hydroblast, king crab, well-laid plans.
One last one, though it's my group's least favourite: mono-white combo with teshar, ancestor's apostle. Think ashnod's altar, Cathodion, treasure hunter, mentor of the meek, and so on. when it goes off, it really goes off, and draws me the whole deck and plays everything out.
Legacy - Solidarity - mono U aggro - burn - Imperial Painter - Strawberry Shortcake - Bluuzards - bom
In the future I think I might try that fungus tribal idea and the BW life shenanigans. Seems like they could be fun decks. Cheers!
You'll crush them. Very satisfying.
