When Fblthp, the Lost enters the battlefield, draw a card. If it entered from your library or was cast from your library, draw two cards instead.
When Fblthp becomes the target of a spell, shuffle Fblthp into it's owner's library.

Finally, our Homonculous overlord is here. Wackiness aside, Fblthp is a cheap cantrip that if you manage to bounce it back to your hand with cards like Crystal Shard you will get to cast and draw again. Or, if you play from your library like with Future Sight you get to draw two. Bonus points for Temporal Aperture. Any other ideas?
As a general you cannot get it into your library, correct?
You can. Whenever Fblthp would go to the graveyard, would be exiled, or would be shuffled into your library, you have the choice to put it in your command zone instead (as a replacement effect). It's not automatic.
Im building creatureless storm/artifacts. Activate a Proteus Staff on Fblthp, the lost with no other creatures in your deck and you get to draw any two cards in your deck as well as organize your whole deck. Maybe snipe some people with a goblin charbelcher after that.
I saw this as well but I think Fblthp will trigger when you target him with the staff, shuffling him randomly into the deck. Then the staff will resolve and you’ll only be able to search up to Fblthp which won’t be the whole deck
*NVM, read him more closely and saw that only spells trigger the shuffle*

Proteus Staff was my first thought as well. Still working on spells to shuffle him back in, but at least there's an engine.
Yea, I'm leaning more towards artifacts being the main focus maybe with a storm combo kill.
Focusing on artifacts gives you a couple good engines
Erratic Portal/Crystal Shard as both threatening to bounce opponent's creatures as well as being essentially three mana to draw a card. They also offer protection for Fblthb should someone target it and we don't want it in the library
Once activate Proteus Staff we can stack our deck with a storm combo kill. This probably involves putting high tide and turnabout on top of your deck to draw them with Fblthb's etb from library ability. At that point we will have enough mana to do pretty much whatever we want. Cards like voltaic key and clock of omens will allow us to get multiple activations out of the staff each turn, which has effectively become "3 mana tutor any two cards out of your deck."
Another kill option I'm looking at is Goblin Charbelcher. We can stack all our lands to the bottom with staff then draw belcher off Fblthb. Belcher becomes 7 mana blow a player up which seems fun haha.

I'm also thinking about Goblin Charbelcher. With Proteus Staff, you're able to reset the deck post-belcher and do it for max damage again.
No worries; he'll be tough to build as a commander, but that's why I want to try it out. Sultai colors seem pretty good for finding him.
Astro_Man brings up a good point, don't forget to wrap your deck with the [DECK] tags, as that'll make it easier for folks to read the cards (not everyone remembers the text to every card).
My current issue with building the deck is finding enough spells to trigger his shuffle ability. Isochron Scepter seems like a good choice (although susceptible to a lot of hate). I don't want to run Buyback cards (like Capsize as I don't want the Buyback to fizzle upon resolution. Any cards that others have found that work a little better for triggering Fblthp's shuffle effect?

Are you going creaturless like me? I was looking into that briefly as well, but I think in the end I realized I don't really want to activate his shuffle ability too much. I think I mostly just want to be bouncing him to hand instead of shuffling him into my library. The thing is mono-blue doesn't have many ways to put a creature on top of your library, and also requiring something like Future sight in order to cast him from your library, makes that plan too fragile/slow imo.
Yeah, that's the frustrating part. I want to use his shuffle effect in an attempt to not have him just be an Elvish Visionary in blue, but you're right, it's hard to set him up that way.
In a creatureless deck, Fblthp and Proteus Staff each turn makes it "2U Tap: Set up your library how you like and draw the two cards you're looking for." Maybe we should find way to protect that game plan instead.
i think you could also simply play him Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain decks. so u dont need to rely on any tricks to get him out of ur library to draw 2, you can get 2 by simply playn him for 2 mana
Those options you mentioned for placing him on the top of the deck are in my version so far. They're decent options for getting him "in the library". Maybe it will have to play more like Miracles.

(U/R)(R/G)(G/U) STEALIN' WHEN I SHOULD HAVE BEEN BUYIN'
I'm not really seeing Fblthp, the Lost as an actual commander. I think it will serve much better in the 99 of some Simic deck that runs Prime Speaker Vannifar, Vivien's Arkbow, Rashmi, Eternities Crafter, Genesis Wave, Kamahl's Druidic Vow, Protean Hulk, Birthing Pod, Yisan, the Wanderer Bard, Vizier of the Menagerie, Chord of Calling, Collected Company, etc.
Jalira, Master Polymorphist | Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder | Bosh, Iron Golem | Ezuri, Renegade Leader
Brago, King Eternal | Oona, Queen of the Fae | Wort, Boggart Auntie | Wort, the Raidmother
Captain Sisay | Rhys, the Redeemed | Trostani, Selesnya's Voice | Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
Gisela, Blade of Goldnight | Obzedat, Ghost Council | Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind | Vorel of the Hull Clade
Uril, the Miststalker | Prossh, Skyraider of Kher | Nicol Bolas | Progenitus
Ghave, Guru of Spores | Zedruu the Greathearted | Damia, Sage of Stone | Riku of Two Reflections
Aluren -> Fblthp the Lost -> Cavern Harpy
Throw in an Essence Warden to mitigate the life loss I guess
Obviously Worldly Tutor to get him to the top, but there seems like so much else you could be tutoring for.

yeet. I'm honestly so excited for this dumb deck hahaha
Proteus Staff was my first thought as well. Still working on spells to shuffle him back in, but at least there's an engine.
Edit: Fblthp, the Lost, Crystal Shard, Gilded Lotus, and Paradox Engine draw your entire deck. Only sorcery speed, but still an effective combo.

Edit: Yea Paradox Engine will be very good in this deck. I hate that card and will not be running it.
