I'm back once more to try and figure out the horribly confusing puzzle that is Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer. I've read just about every primer and seen every deck tech the internet has to offer on this guy and nothing seems to click in a 75% deck. My current list for him is really rough and has gone through several iterations. Currently, I'm playing around with a steal-ier version of Brudiclad, as I am beginning to think this is the easiest/most cost effective way to acquire big targets to copy with Brudiclad's ability. The current game plan uses cards like Acquire, Bribery and control magic to steal my opponents creatures, copy them and then let Brudiclad do his thing. This has potential to do some crazy things but the deck still doesn't feel very fluid to pilot and I feel like there must be something I am missing in making him work. I would love to hear all of your ideas on building him and get a bit of a discussion going to see if we can iron out the best way of building this beautiful general. Thanks everyone!
You are trying to steal and THEN copy your opponents' stuff? Not just make lots of tokens and have one of them be good?
The gameplan typically is turning your Brass's Bounty into a bunch of good stuff, right? So you can Bribery/Phrexian Metamorph to get something, Quasiduplicate to have a token of it, and THEN it has to be combat for stuff to transform?
That's too many hoops. What other cards are like Saheeli's Artistry, where you end up with a token (or two) NOW?
Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer Autocard is your friend. (An aside, I like how Tel-Kor sounds like the name of a Silicon Valley startup.)
The good thing is, you're in the colors for clone tokens, which is what you're probably going to be using a lot. Cackling Counterpart, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Rite of Replication, Mimic Vat, Mirrorworks, that sort of thing. You'll also want other cheap token sources; fortunately, artifacts and red (e.g., goblins) have you covered. Finally, don't forget that tokens needn't be artifacts or clones to be copied by Brudiclad: You'll find Reef Worm and Descent of the Dragons make you a huge army.
The downside is, you don't have a lot of the tricks token decks normally use in these colors. You can, if you want, play Purphoros, God of the Forge. And that Mirrorworks works great with Mycosynth Lattice.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
I was running a Brudiclad list for a while before getting pretty bored but that might have been a symptom of my mis-evaluating what kind of deck Brudiclad is. I was thinking oh tokens this is gonna be a swarmy Timmy deck! I was very wrong Brudiclad has definitely more of a combo feel to him. Not only that but I found it to be incredibly hard if not impossible to build a functioning 70% list. I think the reason for this is that the things that for Brudiclad to actually win the game he HAS to win the turn that you cast him for two reasons. One because you have already dedicated a large amount of resources to the board and you will most likely be really blown out from a board wipe. The second reason is similar, Brudy costs 6 to cast and you need to have a good board state to play him into so casting him for 8 is a lot harder to do especially if you need to do something else that turn as well. All of this together means that for you to win ANY games you have to build the most powerful synergies you can with him. This is what leads to the deck being relatively boring because you basically always win the sameish way and it becomes basically can you deal with Brudiclad before combat? No? I win. Yes? I lose.
