MTG Salvation

Hello All,

I'm making a Rubinia Soulsinger deck that I'll be using in a creature-heavy meta. I decided to go with an enchantress subtheme just because I don't have one yet.

Deck Concept: Turn the opponents' creatures against them, sacrifice some for value, then run them over with tokens. Or just plainly steal all their stuff. *Gain incremental advantage from sacrificing creatures.

Can you guys help me come up with some cards that might help with the theme? I'm just listing cards in here i think might be useful. Suggestions are very much welcome. Thanks!

OMG Lignify is really nice as well as Retether. I might have to steer clear of Replenish tho as that one is hella expensive. Thanks!

I have a Yasova Dragonclaw deck that is built around stealing something by gaining control of it, then switching control with something else by means of Switcheroo, Djinn of Infinite Deceits, and their kin. Rubinia might be able to play similarly.

I think they might be able to play similarly, but this one with an enchantress subtheme. What sac outlets do you use as well?

I like a Clan/pack theme with Yasova to make it more fun, so I gravitate towards Feed the Pack. Not many other straight-up sac outlets because that's not what I'm trying to do.

Well, that's true. Would Krosan Grip, Path to Exile, Beast Within, and Sylvan Reclamation help?

My Merieke deck is going much the similar route, so while you can't use everything in my decklist(obviously), here's a few ideas:

Puppet Strings = being that you're running green, I don't imagine it to be too hard to have mana up for its activation, particularly if you're saccing to Ashnod's Altar and the like.

Galvanic Alchemist, Crab Umbra, Captain of the Mists = more untap effects; Captain will get more benefit if you're running human token generators

Adarkar Valkyrie = beautiful to use in response to a boardwipe if no one has a follow up sac effect.

Dominating Licid = one of the few creature/enchantments that can cheat past a boardwipe.

False Demise = Get double value out of a creature you sac.

Gift of Immortality = Putting it on Rubinia can help keep her alive, but couple it with hexproof of some kind for Progressive-type coverage.

Pemmin's Aura = the 'Do Anything Aura' should need no explanation.

Control Magic = one of the cheaper theft effects.

Steal Artifact, Thada Adel, Acquisitor = because why limit yourself to creatures?

Treachery = Free Mind Control is never wrong.

Volition Reins = I'm usually hesitant to throw out such a heavy mono-color investment for 3C and up decks, but it really is good if you can snag a planeswalker with it(I know you said your meta is creature heavy, but just in case...). Think about it, at least.

Illusionist's Bracers, Rings of Brighthearth = Twofers are rarely wrong or bad.

Conjurer's Closet = Slow, yes...but VERY nice at 'permanently' removing a troublesome creature as a threat to you.

Ghostly Flicker = this and other 'blink' effects are invaluable in theft decks. Make sure that the text says 'target creatures you control' and 'enter battlefield under your control'.

Gather Specimens = hilarious against token decks, so watch out that someone doesn't use it against you.

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll keep these in mind. I did come up with a very rough draft with the cards I originally listed but it seems like going that route isn't too much to my liking. Maybe it's just me or I find not running cantrip effects too much of a burden.

What Chaz said can't be emphasized enough. Cards like Deadeye Navigator and Conjurer's Closet will let you steal something, blink it to own it permanently, then untap and do it again next turn.
