We will get 2 Planeswalker Legendaries, 1 Legendary Creature that enables or supports planeswalkers, and 1 random legendary creature
(I believe we've been getting 4 new generals per deck)
Hoping for some great reprints since they increased the price by $5 this year. SOURCE
If they increased the price just because it's popular and don't print product of slightly more value, I'm gonna be slightly annoyed. Not because $5 breaks my back, but because there's no guarantee they won't arbitrarily increase prices again, which bums me as a consumer if the quality of the product is the same when it was $35.
I for one am happy for all this planeswalker love from Wizards.
The year is 20XX. Everyone plays atraxa superfriends.
No. They don’t. I have yet to play or play against Atraxia, and to be honest that sounds more like a metagame problem in your playgroup than an inherent problem with Planeswalkers or an error on WotC’s account.
Grow an a spine. Refuse to play in groups or games using deck archtypes and commanders you dislike.
But don’t mistake anti planeswalker sentiment as the general player consensus.

I hope we don't get partner with because the fun of the original partners was mix matching what you want to play. having two single colored partners in a deck and a main dual color pw would be great

I'm pretty sure, that they said the price increase is because they will power the decks up. I'm fine with this and hope for real cool decks
I think, if they go with Planeswalkers we will get at least one per deck (if we get 'Partner with' maybe 2).
Previews start on June 12th... that seems so far away
Wait there will be a higher price? Can you link a source?

Still convinced the guy on Beseech the Queen is wearing a Mitra-type hat. Wake up sheeple!
If we get PWs as commander,c hnaces are it will be similar to the KenrithTwins In whcih we will get partners. However with only 4 decks i cannot see that happening. (Chances are it is gonna be the same as last year. A 2-color, two 3-color and a 5-color.)
this also leads me to believe that PWs will not be the general for each deck. This however will obviously spike the prices much like Atraxa did. So in order to make sure that the inclusion of PWS as a general in a single deck does not spike prices, they would need to make the other decks contain amazing cards (like cards that are 10+ and have more than 5 in the deck while still keeping MSRP at $39.99 (or whatever they have been in the past few years)
That would of course spike prices again for the other decks... you know what, regardless of how they do this, Unless PWs are in all 4 decks (Which seems unfair as that means a color combination will be ignored) they cannot prevent prices spiking.
I still haven't forgiven them for Nahiri, either. I wanted Serra then. I want Serra now. I want Serra all the time.
Bonus if there's some mention of Feroz, too.
Please, Wizards! SERRA!!!!
There's just no way we're not getting Serra in this. Trust me. We just visited Dominaria, got some Angel support there, Church of Serra themed cards, and it's Magic's 25th anniversary.

I would love to have seen Serra get a story in which she was corrupted and ended up creating Fallen angels. Have her dwell heavily on black mana. The once Angelic Planewalker now doing the bidding of demons.
I'm really curious which colors Serra's deck will be, assuming she gets one. Red is the most common color for angels after white, and it would be a fitting place for Avacyn's fourth angel, but she has to be WB. But they can't do RWB because they just did that color combination in C17. They wouldn't do a 5-color angel deck with Maelstrom Archangel or something, would they?
On that note, I hope they do some good reprints in it. We're long overdue for a Baneslayer Angel reprint, Archangel of Thune could use more (doubt they'd put a $13 card in a preconstructed deck, though), Sigarda's first card could really use one, both DOM and M19 have some decent angels, Archangel of Tithes hasn't shown up in anything but its original set yet nor has Aurelia (or Firemane Angel, but that card is cheap anyway), and Herald of War would make sense.

I feel the same about how daretti should have been slobad, goblin tinkerer. Instead of making a red goblin planeswalker with an established story and history (a story about being a planeswalker even just for a while), a character with an established knowledge of recursion of artifacts, development instead just invents some new character with next to zero backstory, (who hasn't and likely never will be been given any more story), with printed abilities that should have been on a Slobad planeswalker card.
Im expecting new walker commanders and new partners. Partners I'm half on board with but the walkers not so much. I also dont want any more gross uninteractable abilities like we had last year. Edgar Markov decks are outrageously harsh and he still provides a good benefit when off the field that just isnt fair.
As much as we grumble though, the precons have been consistently great (even if not all are created equal *Meren*).

EDH BRGKresh the BloodbraidedBRG, A box of lands and ideas.
Modern: RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.
Well yeah but I don't think Windgrace was especially Blue. So JUND makes a degree of sense to me. I mean he closed the Rift by growing in size and biting it right? That seems rather JUND solution to me.
Also commander doesn't have color balance anymore fair enough but I don't see them doing Grixis again the year after. 5-color is the exception. But I don't see another GW, Mardu or Grixis Deck.
Outside of getting a Serra card, I was disappointed when I learned this year is PW themed. I may change my mind if the options are interesting. Getting a Jace PW commander (unlikely) would be amazing to switch up with JVP. Or Kiora. But ultimately. I prefer Legendaries as generals. And it's always which legends from past lore we get that draws me most to these products as a Vorthos. It'd be nice if they didn't focus as much as mechanics and having a cycle and just went with themes like Sea Monsters, or plane-themed decks. Like having some Devotion cards in a Theros themed one, having Ninjas and Samurai or Soratami in a Kamigawa one, etc. So what if the mechanics don't balance. In a real EDH deck, we mix and match planes, mechanics, themes, etc.
if jace is used as a PW that can be used as your commander... hello jace tribal.
Bah, i hate planeswalker and i hope they stay far away from my commander games as possible.
Glad to see that i'm not the only one here.
I sincerely hope that c18 will sell badly so wotc will go back to simple legendary creatures
I get it, there is one guy who shall not be named *Cough* Evil Adam *Cough* who hates Planewalkers since all of his deck do not interact with them well. My superfriends decks have all not helped with his disgust for them. In fact he hates them so much he put Archon of Valor's Reach in his deck simply to spite them. Granted he has recently used Vraska which surprised me.

Whether you like Planeswalker Commanders or not, they're in this year's Commander product.
I'm more interested in discussing what Planeswalkers we will see this year.
Going off that artwork spoiler, I wouldn't mind seeing Elspeth as a Black White Planeswalker Commander. Seems like a great fit for tokens.
Even though that Garruk art isn't new (it's from the Vault Series: Transform), he could make for a cool Green Black commander that focuses less on the graveyard but more on the classic "Rock" strategy. Play all the best removal for everything, ramp, and have tough creatures.
I like Ral Zarek but I don't want another Blue Red spell commander deck just yet. Same goes for Saheeli, as we recently just had Breya.
I really love the idea of a Blue White Control/Blink deck with Teferi, although he just got some cards AND already was a planeswalker commander.
Aside from the spoiled art, I thought about some other Walkers I would like to see again. The Old Walkers would be cool, but their color identities seem to be obscure and they might not work well. Aside from them, I think these could be cool.
Ashiok -- This could be fun. I could see Ashiok at the helm of a control deck that uses lots of manipulative spells and spells that steal your opponents' cards.
Xenagos -- My favorite character, as his story was very well told and I think he was one of Magic's best villains. Although he had one planeswalker card, I would enjoy seeing him again in a stronger form, piloting a very creature heavy, wild deck.
Kiora -- Blue Green needs something aside from Edric and Counters. I think ramping into huge spells and sea monsters would be pretty neat.
I'm pretty pumped about Lord Windgrace. He looks to be Jund or maybe even Abzan colored, but it's hard to say. He's got me hoping for Bo Levar!
