So, as the title states, I'm trying to build a fairly low budget artifact deck to get back into magic with my play group. Since I haven't played in nearing 3 years I don't know much about many of the cards. My group isn't too competitive but I want something that would stand at least somewhat of a chance was I not playing it against them. I'm open to any suggestion for what commander to do, what cards to include, and general tips on how to keep building the deck or just any deck.
Edit: Open to other ideas of the type of deck, artifacts was just what I thought of first.
Commander Anthology II has just released last week and includes the mono red Daretti deck from 2014. If you could find someone who'd sell you that it's a great place to start.

Agreed, really good place to start. Especially considering the first card people will recommend as a staple is Wurmcoil Engine. It's worth it just for that and Caged Sun. Those two pretty much make up 95% of the value of the deck financially, and there's plenty of decent staples in addition.
The Daretti Deck alone is priced about $50 from Amazon/Ebay.
The "Anthology" Daretti Deck can be found on ebay for between $35 and $40 so if you don't want the fancier original packaging, save enough money to put another $10 in mods into the budget.
Right now, a LOT of people are breaking up Anthology online and selling pieces on Ebay.
I got a "Wade into Battle" for under $40 needing another Urza's incubator and more.
People bought Anthology and are selling off many of the pieces they already had.
Considering the Anthology is quite expensive as a pack, if you have an opportunity to, yes. There's some good stuff in the other decks but probably nothing you can't find elsewhere without spending as much money.
There's other generals for artifact shells too, btw. Daretti is good, but there's plenty of options. The precon just gives you great value.
I was looking around and saw Kurkesh Onakke Ancient. He seems like fun and I'm wondering one, if he's any good, and two what cards would be good with him still keeping in mind my budget.
Take a look over at Commander's Brew. They build decks, always under $50, weekly on different themes. Plenty of them have been about artifacts, including the Helm of the Host deck recently.
If people are sick of reading about stuff just stop taking part. You have 100% control over what you read. Simic Ascendancy isn't going to get banned just because you didn't tell someone to shut up on the internet.
50 dollar artifact d's k is it happening. Even if you got dereiti for free, the upgrades are gonna cost more than 50.
Try something else first. (Most as of tribal decks can be made for 50.) Or buy a pre con (if you can Get a 2017 (vampires or cats are better) save your money for the artifact deck.
August is releasing 4 commander decks. I would suggest waiting.
