Is Phyrexian Scriptures any good in Marchesa affinity builds? I agree that I don't like the telegraphing a wrath part, but giving Marchesa her counter w/o attacking as well as the fact that all the robots would dodge the wrath part seems decent to me.
I've been using atraxa, with starfield of nyx and mirari's conjecture to recur removal, ramp, and such. I seem to lock down the game with thran and scriptures by removing the counters on the upkeep. Mine's trying to do too much right now, but it's definitely viable as a strategy IMO.

I know it's very situational but... here's how my son turned the tables on me with Fall of the Thran. He cast Fall of the Thran, removing all lands. Then he swung and hit me with a creature equipped with Dowsing Dagger, transforming it into Lost Vale. That gave him 3 mana of any one color. He tapped for 3 white, then cast Demystify, destroying the Fall of the Thran enchantment so that no one got their lands back. In addition to his Lost Vale he had a Sol Ring, so at the start of my turn I was back to building my mana base from zero while he had access to up to 5 mana. Ya, he had to build it up from zero too, but I had mana advantage before his move, so it really set me back. It slowed my play enough that he was able to come back from behind and win.
Like I said, situational, but shows that with a little preparation and luck on the card draw to have the right components, it's not a bad combo.

I plan to get a copy of The Mirari Conjecture now that I've realized how it can be part of an infinite-turns combo or just loop for value with Noxious Revival or Regrowth.
