In all fairness, Ulrich is pretty goddamned awful.
I actually really like Ulrich, but not as a werewolf commander. It doesn't help though that he's basically anti-synergistic with most werewolves. He like to flip a lot, like a worse version of huntmaster, while most werewolves like to stay flipped to their big scary side and want cards like Immerwolf around.
On a related tribal note, I'm sad to hear that slivers won't be coming back, not even one or two. I wish they had less of an all-or-nothing focus on tribal. There's no reason they can't make one of those boring throwaway draft commons they're so fond of world-building with into a tribal creature for a tribe not featured in the current set. Just make it a decent draftable stand-alone card not meant for standard, that only really shines when their tribal aspects are put to use in casual and eternal formats.
Give us a 3/3 black deathtouch sliver for 5 CMC at common or something. That would work even if there were literally no other slivers in the set. Or good old Muscle Sliver at common who's just a 2/2 for 2, unless you manage to draft multiple in which case they actually become good.

I see how he's usable, but I must admit he's disappointing as a tribal leader. Which sucks for werewolf tribal as he is literally the only option. Arlinn Kord would be great if she were commander usable.
Yeah, bummer for slivers. Although MaRo's statement does indicate we will see them again soon. So that's cool. I can see why they didn't make the cut though. He's right - they take a lot of design space, and in a set that (at this point) is committed to maybe one or two expansions (I can't remember which) it's a bridge too far to commit to them. Still, watch this space I guess. I'm not interested in them personally, but I have a wife that loves tribal themes and would jump on slivers in new sets.
There's also a Sultai Karador for every permanent type. That's gonna be huge, particularly because he can get more than one card per turn from the grave.
Mudu, Corrupt Tower 3UGB
Legendary Creature - Elemental Avatar
You may cast permanent cards from your graveyard on your turn. You may only cast one card of each type this way per turn.

This card looks great. I've been looking for strong Sultai commanders besides Tasigur, and this guy packs a lot of fun elements. Right up my ally. 6 mana is high end, so balanced, but can setup so really broken plays, if you design the deck to optimize distribution of permanent types and easily castable as to try and maximize number of cards you play each turn.

Really curious to see how (s)he looks like! Maybe most of all cards we know yet.
Not really interested in building that deck, but it'll be a cool support creature in my Edric, Spymaster of Trest build.
4/34 creatures i run don't have any evasion - yet. And it'll upgrade 20/30 of the evasive ones.
Seems like a lot of wants for commander where fit into this set.

At the beginning of Combat on your turn, for each equipment and Aura attached to Valduk, put a 3/1 Elemental token with trample and haste into play. Exile those tokens at the beginning of the next end step.

That..... is deceptively powerful.
1) Red has access to a ton of Wheel effects, so synergizes with cheap equipment (like the Swords of X and Y) and they can dig through their deck rather fast if you build for it.
2) Red is the Artifcat Recursive color, so you don't care if they start destroying your artifacts.
3) It doesn't specify which combat on your turn, so every combat will give you more guys. Yeah, they're only 3/1's, but....
Gix. I've wanted a legendary Gix for years, and this was their chance.
In the story he was "blown up" near a planar portal in the caves of kolios after almost killing urza. But the story never really said he was dead. The claws of gix were found near time rift things in time spiral, which has always given Me hope that Gix survived and just went through the planar portsl, carrying on yawgmoths good word.
Gix is/was the level of powerful that rivals old-walkers and absolutely would make for an amazing antagonist.
I'm pretty bummed that he doesn't have a card past a vanguard represention. This was his final chance and wotc has disappointed me.

It could still happen, only half the set has been spoiled. Can't be a planeswalker but he could be a creature.
Anything left is probably going to be simple, though, because I believe only cards with no accompanying rulings are left unspoiled. So I suspect there won't be a ton of legends left, but who knows. Almost certainly there will be a few.

They seem to be going for the record of 'most legendaries in one set' this time round. Maybe Kamigawa will get knocked off the perch. You never know. I agree, I think there will probably be at least a few more legendaries released, but I doubt we will see as iconic a character as Gix. Especially considering thus far we seem to be focusing more on Bolas and Lili's pact than any other arc, and Gix is definitely more intrinsically tied to Phyrexia.

The only thing I really don't like about him is the lack of Haste. But then again, it's Red, so that's not really a big issue.
