4) Oh, by the way, I got a Zedruu deck too, just to let you know that I know what I'm talking about as well.
Well not to put you on the spot, but as the theoretical advocate for Steel Golem here, do you play it in Zedruu?
And if so, do you refuse to play it until you have 6 mana, Zedruu, a backup sac outlet, and completely tapped out opponents?
I did play the Golem for a while, and then take out, but not for the reasons of the risk of getting stuck yourself (that NEVER happened to me, since I am very careful at what moment to cast my spells, knowing also what my opponents could or could not do in my turn), but simply because the Golem is just too easy to remove for opponents afterwards, so at the end it's not worth to play for that reason. But that's because it's a creature, not because of his ability.
Not in EDH, but in any other random casual format, you can perfectly treat this as a monogreen card (that's why hybrid mana exist in the first place, to allow the same card to be played in different monocolor decks).
Whim of Volrath let's you produce a bird and a wolf for 2U a pop (the first time gets you just a bird but you use whim to change green to blue on the fable so blue spells trigger the wolf production effect as well).
The big advantage this has over similar cards is that it produces 2 tokens rather than just 1, which makes it better for fueling sac outlets, but the need for a specific color combo hurts it.

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
Fable of Wolf and Owl is one of those cards that seems really good on paper, but in practice it is just outclassed by so many other things at that mana cost. You have to be deep on token production to want to go down this route, and even then its hard to get max value out of it because there aren't a lot of token generating cards in blue. This is one of those cards that if it cost , it would so much better and might see much more play than the current Simic version sees. As it is, UG just has so many good cards and so many good strategies that push out fringe cards like this, and if you want to generate tokens in those colors you have much better options (Talrand, Sky Summoner, Metallurgic Summonings, Sai, Master Thopterist)
That sounds like a good tribal (and very expensive) deck to build!
Isn't there also a sword of dungeons and dragons (i know it's not EDH legal, but for this theme, I'm sure most playgroups will be fine with it. It's not even that good)
MTGO has a "Planeswalker format", for which you can buy boxes of a specific set of gold-bordered cards (if you buy 4x of each box, you've got at least a playset of every card in the format).
I created a deck with 3x Seismic Assault, 4x Treasure Hunt, and 53x basic lands (split between Mountains and Islands). It was actually surprisingly effective, especially in 2HG when the opposing team could hardly ever keep creatures on the board while my teammate beat face.
Wait until they realize how much iron is in blood. Okay, it's less than a gram in a pint of blood (pardon my mixing of metric and imperial units), but it has about 2/3 of your body's iron reserves.
Anyway, I like Seismic Assault. It was an early way to use extra land drops, and really key to the burn decks of the day. (In that meta, between this and Furnace of Rath, you either went all-in for red or stayed the hell out of red.) I always liked when the game gave us something to do with our extra lands when we ran out of gas. I'd probably prefer Hazoret the Fervent for that today, though. That's what happens when you don't have access to The Gitrog Monster, Titania, Protector of Argoth, etc.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
I know auras didn't have that moniker when this was printed, and it doesn't change that this card is very powerful, but there's something great about having "Aura Thief (You don't get to move auras)."

Zedruu: "This deck is not only able to go crazy - it also needs to do so."
I run this in my Marchesa, the Black Rose deck as I have plenty of sac outlets and little enchantment removal. It's generally a pretty effective card, even if it does sometimes end up not having targets - but even then, the threat of activation (assuming I have a sac outlet) will discourage people from playing enchantments. It's particularly fun against several decks in my playgroup led by one of the Theros gods....

This. So sad it's GU instead of GW. It would have broken the awesome flavor but i would have settled for spirits instead of birds

Surprisingly oppressive in the right context.
Nice backup plan for Borborygmos Enraged along with Land's Edge, and now that there are plenty of ways to use those lands in the GY (Crucible of Worlds, Ramunap Excavator, Life From the Loam, etc.) there are some nice ways to make Seismic Assault into a value play. Combo with Barrel Down Sokenzan FTW!!!
