Whoa. Hold on, DRS gets a “pretty good as well”? It is the only banned mana-dork across multiple formats!
I get what you’re saying though lol.
I routinely find homes for “off”color dorks instead of jamming every Elvish Mystic clone simply because the fixing is phenomenal. Like was said, turn 2 PA is some pretty sweet stuff. What’s better is a turn 2 Necropotnece, and EoDS have helped me do that in a few occasions.
Drawback is not really a drawback in our beloved format. Should actually note it is damage though, in case people have damage doubling effects in your meta.
Whoa. Hold on, DRS gets a “pretty good as well”? It is the only banned mana-dork across multiple formats!
In a format where you aren't guaranteed to see a fetchland in one of the graveyards by turn 2 the powerlevel of Deathrite goes down quite a lot compared to other more reliable turn 2 accelerants, but it's still nice graveyard hate
It's a one drop mana dork. That means it's a very good card to start with. Add in the fact that it also helps fix mana at a pretty minor cost for this format, and we've got an excellent card. And yeah, using the Dark version is kinda obligatory.
it's pretty good, but i don't recall ever using it in any deck.
I was trying to think if it's possible to play around the 1 damage, but can't - it's part of the mana ability, right? so you can't respond to the damage. i suppose something like urza's armor is needed to offset it.

I’ve never had an issue with that. Terramorphic Espanse and Evolving Wilds see plenty of play, even alongside The Good Fetches that I will have a target more often than not. Not 100% consistent, sure, but not infrequent enough to discourage me from playing DRS in every deck that I can.

There are two cycles I want completed: Mana dorks that tap for another color, and one-mana mana dorks that tap for G and two other colors. (We have the latter for Naya, Sultai, Bant, and Temur, but not Jund or Grixis. The latter are just this and Avacyn's Pilgrim.)
In general, though, one-drop dorks are good.
I think Saskia could use Gisela, Blade of Goldnight late-game, which has synergy with Saskia's ability (doubling combat damage opponents take then doubling the damage off Saskia's ability again, e.g. a Baneslayer Angel now does 10, then 20) as well as preventing all damage on your side of the table from Elves of Deep Shadow and Pestilence effects. Of course, this being Commander, a poke isn't usually a problem unless someone gives your elf infect (and presumably Vow of Malice or similar).

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Actually this card seems pretty good in Keranos or any of the other blue gold-Gods. Get two blue devotion plus possibly who knows how many more of a color you need with the card you steal?
Still, it holds a unique niche of allowing you to steal ANY permanent at a cost of just 4UU; In Bolas's Clutches isn't a strictly better as being legendary can cause issues as often as it causes advantages, while Volition Reins has a slightly tougher mana cost and Spelljack, Aethersnatch, and Gather Specimens require more precise timing. How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
