The whole soul cycle is very underplayed, but i can understand why since most of them are really niche and mana intensive
I used to play soul of zendikar in my big mana deck because i needed a reusable shield against flyers, but got replaced by Zacama

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
I'm more interested in Shandalar than this card. :3
I remember when they introduced Shandalar as the plane the Chain Veil was from, thinking of the 90s Batman movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Uma Thurman (you know, the bad one) and how they referenced Aunt Harriet, of all the obscure bits of Batman lore to bring up. But I'm sure the chain veil plot will go somewhere, right? No. Not really.
Anyway, this is kinda meh. I can't help but think that 99% of the time, Kamahl, Pit Fighter is better.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
One of many examples of how much this border added to cards.
No one likes "flavor fonts" except marketing people. And try reading white on white.
Anyway, I like this one. I do. Mostly because it doesn't enter tapped, it has cycling (which means I can exploit it with Sun Titan or [card}Crucible of Worlds[/card], or a Life from the Loam loop, or just use it for delirium and threshold), and I just think it's neat.

It's a card I have cut more times than I've played because of the prohibitive cost, but it is great at fishing out cradle or sanctum or nykthos or similar. It's mostly good if your deck leans lower to the ground or plays a lot of ramp, but the cost of fishing out 5 and 6 mana spells ois so high it's not amazing for decks with a big top end.
Generally speaking I think it's better to play more efficient stuff for finding the cards you want, but surely has its uses and is very flexible.
I'm not the fondest of 3 mana (and colored mana at that) ramp. Then again, that ramp can fetch out something like an Ancient Tomb or a Gaea's Cradle.
There's also the fact it's not really a dead draw in the really late game. You can go pull out an Oblivion Stone or a Craterhoof Behemoth or something when you don't need no ramp no more.
So yeah, pretty decent card for decks that spent a lot of money on their manabase.
Fetching any land to play for 3 (without downside) is fairly unique. crop rotation gets it to play, but is card disadvantage and doesn't ramp. sylvan scrying/expo map don't have card disadvantage, but don't ramp. reap and sow (and others) ramp and don't put you down a card, but they cost 4. Add to that the option to fetch other things when you've got plenty of mana, and this is a genuinely great card imo.
Most of the time I use this card to stick stupid nonbasic lands like Serra's Sanctum
It can also be used with Lotus Bloom to set up the Sun Titan combo. But mostly besides those two things I use it for utility.

I'm in the crowd that typically uses this as ramp. Nonbasic ramp is uncommon enough, but nonbasic ramp that brings the land in untapped is (I think) unique. Late game flexibility to grab other permanents is icing on top of that. There's also some potential for bluffing here, though it's unlikely that someone who was considering countering your tutor is going to be less willing if you overpay to give yourself more options.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.
Good ramp that can find a finisher if you have stupid Mana, or a 1-4 Mana combo piece reasonably.

Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
Am I the only one who always been very happy of the card because I always use it as a universal toobox for anything I need in the moment? A mana rock in early game, a very strong planeswalker in midgame and a finisher in late game? Seems so. Played for a long time in a pentacolor goodstuff deck, cut it only because there's only so many slots available and so many goodies you wanna play.
Yeah, not much to say about Shelly other than she's pretty damn solid. To be fair though, I really commonly find that she gets pinged before my turn swings back around.

I believe this is the only untapped cycling land.
It is, I've checked. It's the only one I run in Nissa, purely because I can get it back with ease. It's decent in the right place.
As cycling becoming more prevalent, it's good to have a colorless cycling option, with cost reduced completely by Fluctuator.
