I have it in my werewolf horde. That's about as playable as i can see it getting.
i think even if you removed the R part of the activation, it wouldn't be all that playable. it could be more playable if the ability was just "R:" maybe.
I occasionally give Afflicted Deserter/ Werewolf Ransacker a glance. Flip cards are easy to run on mtgo and obnoxious in paper. I'm actually quite glad not many of them are very good for the format (lots of changes to that in Ixalan block with things like Search for Azcanta and Treasure Map)
So of course this one requires a ridiculous transform condition (even more ridiculous with flashback), and you still need red mana to fight. But if you fail to get all that, you can still use red but only against flying removal.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Since that image is microscopic, the left half mills 8, the right half puts a creature from a graveyard into play with haste, and you can fuse it.
Interesting feature, because it was designed to be able to choose a creature milled by the left half, this reanimation effect does not target and you do not have to tell people what you want until it's too late to stop you. Your opponents have to choose whether to disrupt you or not and how before you tell them what creature you're after, and in the case of playing this fused, there isn't an opportunity for people to exile things from graveyards between the Breaking half and the Entering half.

Zedruu: "This deck is not only able to go crazy - it also needs to do so."
I have this in my Thrax deck, but I've only used it once to get Thrax back out. There are a number of GY shenanigan decks in my meta though, so I think it should stay around for a while longer...
Reanimation effects shouldn't target in the same Standard as Deathrite Shaman anyway.
A bit steep at 8 mana for the whole card, and if you don't want the whole card, why not Grave Upheaval? I could see myself using it in Nekusar, since Breaking alone would at least be useful with an active Bloodchief Ascension.

A not-often used synergy; it goes well with silent gravestone. since it doesn't target, and MOST reanimate effects do, you can use it to nick stuff without fear that your opponents can do the same thing back to you.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Guardian Idol is a pet card of mine from way back when I played a 60 card Death Cloud deck. I use it pretty regularly still in edh in my more casual builds. It isn't spectacular but it is a solid role player. I played it in Jor Kadeen stax and it outperformed there.
4/5 - Nostalgia. I have been throwing around ideas for a Pox inspired deck for years but just can't settle on my commander.
2.5/5 -Reality. Sometimes a card is just mediocre, but you jam it in decks anyways and sometimes it puts in work.

It is only a 2/2. That said, in my experience, cards that "perform some other vital function (usually mana) but are also creatures" can help aggro decks get off the ground, but they won't seal the game for you..

It's... playable. Kind of. The fact that it's both colorless mana and enters tapped makes it outclassed by a lot of things that only do one of those. If you're playing Polymorph, this is a cheap target for those type of effects that have no way of being hits themselves I guess. So there's some form of use for it, but it fails more because it's outclassed by better cards most, if not all of the time.

It's still nice to be able to pressure planeswalkers post-wrath.
I think it’s probably playable, but for people like myself with greedy manabases, that rr can be tough.
The question is how many nonbasic lands and other mana fixing you allow yourself. (Though of course, if you play too many nonbasics, Blood Moon actually helps you cast this. Back to Basics and Ruination, not so much.) My rule is, no more than half my lands are nonbasic, and an unconditional tapland must either tap for at least three colors or do something else (e.g., scrylands).

Interesting card and effect. A bit steep @ the six but you get what you pay for. Personally I prefer Grave Upheaval though.
