Man, people really got stop overusing the quote feature. Reply works just fine most of the time. If you ever quote a post that's longer than a quarter page, the interface really ought to ask "are you sure? It's going to make the thread really annoying to read."
Anyway, high tide is a boring combo card and I don't like it.
Cool card that I never play because of 6 CMC. I don't like to run many cards that expensive outside of dedicated ramp decks and there are so many better options. I'd probably find space for this more often if it was at 5 CMC or even if it had vigilance. As is, it never makes the cut.

Turning off nested quotes also goes a long way towards fixing that problem and it's rare that anyone needs to see the entire conversation thread in a single post.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.
I remember this card being new when I started playing magic and thinking "holy crap that card is insaaaaane." And then I saw visara the dreadful and lost my mind.
Anyway 6 is too much to pay for a big (medium) ball of semi-hexproof semi-unblockable stats these days. Maybe makes the cut in cat tribal or something but otherwise naw.
Blocking as an 11/14 is pretty wild. Was he brought up in the best creatures at blocking thread? Absolute tech in Brion Stoutarm I suppose. I think he'd be quite strong if only he had vigilance.
I have tried to play the big kitty in decks before, but there are always other cards more deserving of a slot. Maybe I will someday come up with a deck I want to build where he is exactly what the deck needs, but that seems fairly unlikely.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Super cool legend (I own a foil copy of). I have always wanted to make a deck for him but his statline / costs are really really bad for doing anything in commander. He is more defensive than he is offensive but his protection options are fairly good for connecting. I feel like I would focus on really big buffs like say Blackblade Reforged as well as equipment that would give value like Mask of Memory. The real issue is his low power and high cost though.
Sweet legend though, I love the flavor and art but he just doesn't stand up well in the format of commander.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
Like most, he doesn't make the cut in my decks. I had him in Sisay, who WANTS legends, but this was early days, and there was way too much else I wanted to do with 6 mana, so...yeah.
A group I play in from time to time has “creature tribal” nights(35+ creatures in your deck, creature damage only for the win). It gives a ton of cards new life, and Jareth was one of them my first night there. Valor made real, that card swung the game right around.
Anyways, yes, in Standard EDH he is just underpowered. But, the beauty of the format is with enough like minded people, you can play with anything.
I mostly remember him from a hilarious wizards article regarding the cycle he's a part of. To think those guys were pretty much the OG titans way back then. Nowadays he's kinda meh.

You could argue Arcades Sabboth and friends were the original titans. (So, crap.) Then came the avatars (These are actually...yeah, Avatar of Woe is pretty good, and I could see use for Avatar of Fury and Avatar of Might, but Avatar of Will is winmoar and Avatar of Hope is loseless.) and primordial dragons (All five are actually reasonably playable! Huzzah! It's not a balanced cycle by any stretch, mind, Treva is the weakest of the original primordials while Crosis was clearly the best, followed by Rith, and then hard to tell but Darigaaz or Dromar, but they are playable.)
Hey, rebooting Titans with original characters like Raven and Cyborg was what made it more than "the Legion of Sidekicks". (I've been rereading old Teen Titans comics.)
This cycle is really bad, though. Visara the Dreadful and Arcanis the Omnipotent would be the only ones I'd generally play. But there is something for being unblockable, immune to Pestilence (and Earthquake and...), and having hexproof? All it costs is W for each color opponents are playing. But then you get to being 4/7 for 3WWW.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Next time you complain about reprint policies, complain that this wasn't in the cat tribal precon for me.
Can't tell if that's sarcastic or not, but I was born without a sarcasm meter.
I don't know about anyone else, but the aesthetics of Portal cards are just weird for me. The P/T symbols, the bold rules text, it just jars. The card isn't bad though. With a Whispersilk Cloak or something it'll keep your land drops coming.
Edit: Lower case "h" at the beginning of the card name bothers me.
That's just how it was in those days. The font is a Medieval Gothic font (usually ones like Fraktur). The real problem is what it looks like on a white card. Or worse
Anyway, it's a fairly rare effect, and it's useful if your deck is thirsty for mana. Nature's Lore on the proc. There's usually some sucker with no creatures. (And it gets worse if you give the kitteh Sword of Feast and Famine...)

I'd probably rank Jareth below Rorix Bladewing. But this cat likes dogs.
