Hey everyone. Do you have Commanders that just give you (all on their own) a warm, fuzzy feeling when you get to use them? Preferably, they should not be the central cog of a tuned competitve combo (Prossh, I'm looking at you), though voltron commanders can certainly fit this category. That being said, if you just simply love a commander regardless, call it out here.
For example, I have more powerful commanders, but I really love Cromat so much I made a deck simply to use him. Nothing is cooler to me than swinging with him and a batch of untapped mana, just because literally anything might happen and he's able to handle almost anything. Plus, with little effort, he can be voltron'd like other aggro commanders.
Edit: this is not just another commander list. More specifically, with so many players asking for ideas on commanders, I figure this might give some off-beat ideas, or at least ones that are fun for their own reasons.
I've got a couple of these. Thraximundar was one of the first decks I built. There are definitely stronger grixis generals, but his deck, and general approach to life, is so much like throwing a hand grenade at a problem that it can't NOT be a blast to play - pun definitely intended.
Sydri, Galvanic Genius - I struggle to think of a more versatile general - she's a living swiss army knife. Seeing the synergy take off when it works, it's like a well oiled machine, it's an awesome thing.
Bruna, the Fading Light - Easy to write off as an expensive angel general, the synergy she brings is, again, easily underestimated. But when it works, it works so well, and it's a lot of fun.
Seconding Thraximundar. Particularly when the combo I have goes off...OUCH!
Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, partly because I have a few opponents that manipulate their topdecks and hands...it's fun to see how crestfallen they get when I wheel everyone's hands.
Reki, the history of kamigawa. While far from powerful, I love the idea of playing all unique abilities in a color that is usually known for "make mana, make creature, turn sideways, smash. "
Uyo, Silent Prophet is a commander that I'd love to build some kind of monoblue ramp/spellslinger deck for. I'm just not sure if it would engender more hate than, say, Talrand.

I think it'd be strong, but I can't see it garnering Talrand level ire. The hoops you go through to use that ability aren't nothing. Granted you can play into them for advantage, but it's disadvantageous enough to not be spammable or broken. I can see how it'd be a fun deck that scales well.
I diden't know about spirit tribal want until I saw the cards And now I wanted to try it
Now thanks to this dude becoming Reality as of C17 this is the best choice yet even though he has no lord/interacts with the spirits like all tribal commanders should.
Geist of Saint Traft
I really want to make a voltron commander with a theme of demon hunting....
but i hate how competitive the playgroup is .... it just won't work
oona, queen of the faes is one of the commander I would love to play and/or build, because of all the possibilities she offers:
Control-combo and massive draw colors, milling opponents, super aggro with all the token she can produce, a 5/5 for 6 CMC makes her a strong creature for an OK cost.
About commanders I own and play, zurgo helmsmasher and phelddagrif are my 2 babies and I really enjoy playing them: 2 completely differents type of playing.
Zurgo is Voltron and can OS out of nowhere. Double strike, unblockable, land AND creature (on the same card) mass destruction.
Phelddagrif is offering to my opponents alot of draw cards to "mill" to death the whole table (with hive mind and enter the infinite for example).
Something about Phelddagrif, I'm playing it in a ramp combo art instead of group hug style, because people think I'm up to something and often attack me even if I'm not making any obvious threatning plays. I also play a plan B wincon with reverse the sands by leaving all my opponents at 1 life by playing hive mind.

I can not win the game and my opponents can not lose the game.
I want to graft a bunch of cool abilities onto Mairsil, the Pretender, but at the same time I don't want to actually draw any of the junk I plan to graft onto her and I don't want to build the rest of my deck around her that I don't plan to use for grafting.
Queen Marchesa is surprisingly fun even though I don't normally enjoy Mardu colors.
The Gitrog Monster was love at first sight. It made me think of Squandered Resources which is an old favorite of mine, that made me remember Cadaverous Bloom. I have not built it yet but I'm working on it. I might not play the Bloom but Squandered Resources sure will.
X just looks absolutely amazing. I also fell in love with most of the partners at first sight.

Him, and when you draw it you can still graft it to him.

Rhonas the Indomitable is becoming a favorite of mine. He's such a mangler! So much fun to play.
Kambal, Consul of Allocation. Don't laugh at me. There's just something about this guy that I find so fun.
Queen Marchesa can be built to have an inordinate amount of joy.
Check your pulse if you haven't at least thought about building around Gishath, Sun's Avatar. Especially with Rivals coming soon.
