Hey everyone! I'm looking for a little help deciding between Oloro, Ageless Ascetic and Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge. Jeleva is pretty cool and has an ability to build around. I saw a list with a Suspend subtheme so your hand doesn't get clogged with the big splashy cards you wanted exiled to Jeleva. Oloro would basically be goodstuff. Gain life, draw cards, deal with pretty much any permanent. The meta I'm playing in is mostly battle cruiser decks, do nothing for 8 turns then stick threat after threat. Anyone play either (or both) and have some insight? Thanks!
Although Oloro's passive in the command zone ability generates a ton of value in Battlexruiser metas, by the time anyone starts making serious plays you've already gained at least 16 life, which translates to a lot of advantages depending on what you do worth said life. With Necropotence that's 16 more card, with Aetherflux Reservoir someone is in the kill zone.
Both are fantastic Battlecruiser generals, i just don't have as much experience piloting or playing against Jeleva as I do Oloro.

I'd say Jeleva, she seems more fun to play with and against. Oloro is not fun to play against and will most likely put a target on you once your play group knows whats going on
Jeleva is pretty random, keep that in mind. And also; while more experienced groups might be hating on Oloro for what it can do, Jeleva's exile-mill has a tendency to piss off especially newer players, so it helps to know how you feel your opponents will react to either effect.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.

Oloro himself doesn't really change the game that much. 2 life per turn cycle on its own is nothing, especially in battlecruister magic where the game is going to be ending with hundreds of damage from an overrun or something similar.
The 99 cards surrounding Oloro can make the deck unfun to play against, but that can be said of literally any general in the game.

This was basically what I was worried about with Oloro. I think Jeleva's randomness would help in that regard.
literally never build Oloro. Especially if you're just going to do EsperGoodstuff.dec
what is even the point? Don't waste your friends' time with such a miserable experience lol
