well ixalan is fully revealed now so now we can get this started
oh by the way please no complaining about dinosaurs to weak in this forum if you want to go to the ixalan set threads not here
Gishath, Sun's Avatar is the legendary who is the number one choice for dinosaur tribal edh he can cheat quite a bit out from the deck. if he deals damage to players. and dinosaur type was the most wanted type to be added to magic the gathering. and now this is a momment for them to shine.
so lets get started
(ofcoarse we got the dinosaurs down if i missed any good ones or some should be removed let me know.)
EDIT: Welp todays the day 1/6/2018 the Rivals of ixalan set brought what the deck was missing for edh (expect recursion) and we got a good deck to start with now and we should get even more ammo in future sets (not as much as dragons/angels/demons/hydras of getting cards)
Shapers' Sanctuary: More cards if someone starts targets our dinos or their support.
Iroas, God of Victory: Where Xenagod makes a dino bigger and gives it haste, Iroas will make all of the dinos harder to block and they don't take damage when attack. For 4 mana, that ain't bad.
Essentially want to kill everyone on the same turn within the combat step by relentlessly attacking with jank Dinos. Its the only thing seems worth it in X commander until they release more better Dino cards
Hi guys. Long story short: I am testing this build. I feel there are maybe a little too many dinosaur which are worth only limited. 3 tutors are considered creatures for the Commander count so I was considering cutting a few more dinasaur for utility/card draw/tutor.
Pyrohemia is going to probably be the best card in my Gishath list. Barring indestructible, Ripjaw Raptor will be able to net me 4 cards a turn at instant speed for a mana each.
Lotta vanilla dinos at the moment but I'm going to build them anyways.

Yea same for me
That problem should be fixed when "rivals of ixalan" comes out not garateed though.

Yeah, I think the trap right now is just jamming in EVERY dino and hoping for the best. Instead, I think you jam the best Dinos and build a deck that takes advantage of enrage on those critters. Unless your goal is to build a theme deck, in which case yeah... jam every Dino you can.
I just realized, The Command Zone will have their Ixalan episode on Wednesday (20th), and one of them (Jimmy I do believe) will be making a Gishath, Sun's Avatar deck. Those guys know EDH inside and out, so I have faith that they will give us one heck of a Gishath, Sun's Avatar deck!

I need to make some excuses to Ryperior74. I have brewed a dinosaur deck and it's working better than i expected.
I mean it's still weak, mainly because it's very glasscannonish and easy to disrupt, but with the right hand and few removals it can be explosive. With Rivals of Ixalan, it may become a good deck.
These are the dinosaurs i'm using:
They are 25, i think it's a good number. There are many suboptimal options, i hope that Rivals of Ixalan will bring more dinosaurs. This deck need a paleoloth and a spearbreaker behemoth like cards to not be too weak to removals.
I don't run Rampaging Ferocidon because i think it's too antisinergic with the deck. It stops Verdant Sun's Avatar, Deathgorge Scavenger and Ravenous Daggertooth and punish me for vomiting dinosaurs.
Glad to see we ar now on the same page now
Yes dinosaurs are good but are missing some factors in edh for now.
"Rivals of ixalan" should bring the missing pieces to this deck 16-24 cards or more in "rivals of ixalan" should be dinosaurs and probably %30-%60 give or take %3-%7 should be good.
regal behemoth should end but being one upgrade (magic is looking into this one for dinosaur type.)
I love Wild Pair, but in this deck there are some big problems:
1) it doesn't trigger when you cast Gishath (sadly, carnage tyrant was ready)
2) it doesn't trigger with Gishath free dinosaurs
3) some dinosaurs don't have a match. No 7/6 dinosaur for carnage tyrant, no 7/7 for wakening sun's avatar, no 9/9 for ancient brontodon...
1 and 2 are fair points, but point 3...
Wild Pair cares about the total, not the exact number.
So a 4/5 has a total of 9. It can get a 0/9, 1/8, 2/7, etc.
It would still be one of the first cuts, but still worth considering.

Fires of Yavimaya because hasty dinos are scary.
