I posted this in the Rumor Mill earlier, but people evaluate the card their for other formats (which for me as a 110% commander player is not interesting.) So this is in the Ixalan spoiler right now:

Settle the Wreckage 2WW
Instant
Exile all attacking creatures target player controls. That player may search his or her library for that many basic land cards and put those on the battlefield tapped, then shuffle his or her library.

This can't possibly be happening right? Talk about a wreckage... MASS Path to Exile? I mean, if it's real it's going straight into my O-Kagachi vengeance deck but man... Angel of the Dire Hour is usually already a blowout but this? This is over 40% discount...

Please tell me I'm just aweshocked and convince me this is not hideously OP...

Funny, I was thinking about using this to ramp like crazy in a token deck.

In a lot of EDH decks, people won't have enough basics to search out.

Oh, this is tutorable with Sunforger. Does it replace Comeuppance?

ramping is one strat. But as you said most edh decks dont have that mana basics. Use it to mass exile an attack. Fog effects ftw.

Yeah this is a really hot Sunforger target, that's for sure. I also agree that it could be a huge ramping tool for W decks, including mono-W (or just non-G) decks that don't usually get to enjoy those types of shenanigans.

Ultimately my deck that really wants this is WR punisher - it can't take advantage of ramping yourself, but I could frequently follow up casting this with an Armageddon or other MLD. Suddenly putting all those lands in play seems pretty foolish.

I can't see playing this on an opponent swinging with more than one (maybe two) creatures unless it's life or death or I have an immediate answer to the downside, a la Armageddon or Aven Mindcensor. It answers an immediate threat but setting them up with mana for the long game presents greater issues long term.

I'll stick it into occasional non-G token lists, though. That I can get behind.

Unless I was running some sort of mana ramp deck, I'd almost always rather have Vengeful Dreams in hand.

It plays a little different role in a few ways

Comeuppance:

• Gives no upside to the attacker
• Works vs non combat dmg
• Does not protect other players

Settle the Wreckage:

• Exiles (stronger removal)
• Can work on your own attacking force
• Has a larger negative vs opposing tokens

So.... I guess it depends a little on how much you value the exile portion of it. In a lot of cases Comeuppance still kills the attacking creatures. I would say in general if you think that you may want to utilize the effect on your own attack, that is when Settle the Wreckage might be a consideration and shy of that it will depend on how much you value the exile removal portion of it. There is some merit to it vs voltron decks in case they may regenerate or be indestructible. In general though... I would say Comeuppance has much less downside to it and if utilizing it on your own attack is not appealing, Comeuppance seems like the better card.

Seems good, but not broken or anything. It's certainly no replacement for pte or stp, as those require leaving a lot less mana up and let you dismantle combos and abilities that aren't affected by settle the wreckage.

Me: Oh, man, this seems like a great Basandra card OH, WAIT, SHE STILL HAS THAT NO SPELLS ABILITY.

No other white general forces attacking.
It doesn't work with our new Disrupt Decorum and goad.
I can't see adding it to anything.

4 mana removal that exiles seems good for hexproof junk. It's also at instant speed. I'm not sure you could get a better card printed that's not in a supplemental product as it seems quite silly for standard and modern. 1v1 may not want this effect, but in multiplayer just hit whoever has the most greedy color base, 3+ colors and you should be okay.

This mostly seems bad. The situations where this will be better than Comeuppance and Wing Shards are pretty narrow, and probably in a range where a sweeper (even at instant speed, like Rout and Fated Retribution) are online and will serve you better. If you are just killing one or two creatures, you would be better served by Shards (or Blessed Alliance, Condemn, classic Path or StP), and if you are killing 30+ creatures Comeuppance would probably have done the job without letting them put every land they own onto the battlefield. I can see it as an occasional Sunforger Target, but I don't think it's a must-play or staple at all.

In my meta, if I hit 30+ creatures with this, the only deck that might get anywhere close to that many lands would be mono colored decks. And I'm typically facing 3+ color decks, which do not run a ton of basics.

I exaggerated for effect - I think if you hit four or five creatures with this that's still bound to be a disaster for you 9 times out of 10, as you've just mega-ramped that opponent and thinned their deck of dead draws for later in the game. In a hyper-cutthroat, proxy or $$$-fueled meta some three color decks may not have 4 or 5 lands to find, but at the average table I think they will. While this is a "split card" to get a bunch of lands yourself in monowhite I still find that somewhat questionable in practice. What kind of deck will be able to reliably pump out 4 or 5 creatures in a reasonable timeframe, but will also be happy to kill them all (exile, even, so no Martyr's Bond triggers) to ramp into other stuff? Seems like a classic win more play.

well you could curve into this with Spectral Procession. Go from four to seven mana in a pinch.

Nevertheless, I don't know any players who would be happy to see their boardstate replaced by basics, regsrdless of ramping that might ensue because of it.
