Now that the full decklists have been revealed and preordering has opened up on multiple websites, what are you getting from C17? Which decks are getting updates from C17? Working on any new brews using a C17 commader?
I ended up preordering the wizards deck as SCG had it listed at $30. While I was there, I also grabbed:
The only card that has a home already is Kindred Discovery in Talrand. As for brews, Im torn between making Kess, Dissident Mage and Mairsil, the Pretender. Who knows, I may end up making both.
The moment I laid eyes on O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami I knew I had found, at long last, my perfect general for 5 color creatureless enchantments! (well, mostly creatureless...there's a few gems that I couldn't pass on lol) I started brewing immediately, I mean like literally within a half hour of the leak I was building a decklist. A few weeks of playtesting went by and at a later point I eventually was playing with it at my lgs. It's a blast cracking back for the kill with Onward // Victory. I let someone play the deck yesterday and he dropped Leyline of Singularity turn zero and I mean literally turn zero-- he won the dice roll too and then passed to the Krenko, Mob Boss player who was like whaaaaaatttt??? loooool.
I always get all the precons anyway but I'm definitely brewing with the Ur-Dragon. He's gonna be my main now (Even now you will always be in my heart, dearest Intet, the Dreamer) It's just that I'm kinda overwhelmed with this being my first attempt at a 5 color deck. Not even my good times with Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis prepared me for this.

I am grabbing dragons and wizards. Wizards will be scavenged for peices while dragons will be tweaked. Only card i will be picking up is teferi protection if it is not in dragons.
( i may end up buying the other two as both vampsand kats have intersting cards, but neither a priority.
Ramos i already piloting a deck i have, will be piloting a second and willl be in the 99 of my dragons.
I've been planning on getting Dragons since we knew it was going to be dragons. Kinda disappointed that I have to get a Kindred Charge and a lot of just decent removal type stuffs. Stupid curses. Stupid *****y Cataclysm.
I'm just going to acquire Vampiric Bloodlust to add to the Cube (the whole Cube is just a Mardu greatest hits exclusive so printing a deck of that colour was a given). I'd never play that deck out-of-the-box though.
Path of Ancestry is the go to in all decks though. Mono, bi, tri, quad or penta. Just getting a free scry everytime I cast my commander, or more with other like typed cards...it's like they printed an actual good version of the Temples.
Nothing. My two decks are competitive and there's nothing worthwhile in these products this time around. Path of Ancestry is close, but ETB tapped and no guaranteed scry if it's a topdeck after turn 3 is yikes.
I just bought the entire set on pre-order for 120 usd. There's basically no point to messing with the singles market or waiting for the spoilers with these things as the value in commander decks has always been there since the inception. Wizards has been making heavily pushed commander only staples, commander specific cards that are powerhouses in legacy, and stuffs them full of "semi-expensive / bulk" reprints that are heavily played or are sneaking up in price. The only problem wizards has is the "Dog chasing it's own tail" issue with reprinting more expensive cards. They basically don't reprint expensive cards in normal sets or precon products because the price got high on them, and the only reason the price got high on them is because they didn't print enough of them. It's poor planning and if they are doing it to drive sales they are engaging in a toxic strategy from the get go.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Personally, I ended up being not that impressed with the Precons this time around despite being someone whom enjoys themed decks. So opted not to get one of the decks and instead just dedicate my resources to the decks that I have. Did order a few cards though from C17 to do so.
- Path of Ancestry , got a couple of these to provide fixing and get some incidental scry effects.
- Hammer of Nazahn , the card that interests me most since it goes well in my Kari Zev deck.
- Kindred Discovery , might give this a try in Azami though probably is too slow for the deck.
Bought the Cat deck myself, and plan on playing it unmodified 3-5 times, then modifying it from there and adding it to my stable of decks. It's the only deck I'm getting this year, and, unfortunately, I can't justify spending money on the other singles I want right now either. Hopefully the stuff I want isn't too expensive down the line.
I'm getting all 4 and I do have ideas of how to upgrade the decks.
But two things I might make in the future.
O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami not immediately but might use him to make a spirit tribal deck plus we got a new way of giving divinity counters for the myojin cycle.
Ramos, Dragon Engine might use him for a alternate win condition deck teferi's protectionwill be beautiful in it because I can protect the win con to the upkeep trigger (the win con will still trigger after it phases back in because they comeback at the untap phase which is before the upkeep.) also fractured identity will be cute to shoot my own Phage the Untouchable or leveler
I hope the singles are cheap. I'll probably use them more in my casual decks than in actual Commander decks, but I do want to make a 5-color dragon Commander deck (and I thought it would be interesting to do it as a tribute to RoahmMythril, too). I'd definitely like to get:
- Teferi's Protection (good multipurpose protective spell)
- Kindred Discovery (I don't have many tribal decks, but this seems like it would draw you a lot of cards in the right deck...or you could use Arcane Adaptation)
- Kindred Charge (same as above)
- Kindred Summons (same as above)
- Mirari's Wake (good reprint; hopefully it will be cheaper than it was)
- Door of Destinies (a very welcome reprint for tribal decks)
- The Ur-Dragon (maybe it's my Timmy side, but this is just freaking cool)
- O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami (also pretty cool, with great artwork to boot)
- Ramos, Dragon Engine (another cool card, and should be good with proliferate)
- Scalelord Reckoner (5 for a 4/4 flying isn't bad, and it discourages kill spells)
- Scourge of Valkas (nice reprint, and I currently only have one of them for my dragon deck)
- Utvara Hellkite (same as above, and this is honestly playable even if I don't have any other dragons)
- Sunscorch Regent (another nice creature that keeps getting bigger and benefitting you...assuming I don't already have enough of them, since it is a reprint)
- Lightning Greaves (useful for protecting things; I still don't have any even after all the reprints because its price keeps staying up)
- Well of Lost Dreams (another very welcome reprint)
Other than that, there are a decent number of the cats that I could probably use (I already wanted to make a cat deck long before Commander 2017 was shown) and several cards that would be nice to have with an updated frame and/or rules text, and Magus of the Mind, Izzet Chemister, and Traverse the Outlands could be interesting.
Alms Collector looks really really good to me. Even outside of cats, this is white card draw that steals away card advantage from your opponents. Sure it's situational, but I find that it's not uncommon to draw ridiculous amounts of cards in EDH. A 3/4 is decent, and the Flash let's you drop in for a sneak trick.
I'm picking up all four, so I'd start getting cards that'd aid me in creating/upgrading relative decks. Mairsil, the Pretender has my attention and I'm making a toolbox deck with him.
Grabbing all four, building Mairsil and Licia right off the bat. Some of the tribal support will probably go into recreating Riku elves in the not too distant future and I have homes in mind for a few other cards.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.
Magus of theSurge for Animar Goodstuff. Another card joins the fight for precious space in that deck...
Path of Ancestry for Horde. I know it doesn't work off its ability, but ETBT land for all colors is fair game for that deck (which is full of dual-manlands that ETBT anyway) as opposed to the other decks and the deck has cascade in it, so that scry might be useful if I don't have Top out.
This is the first Commander set that I'm not really jazzed on any cards. I'm sure I will pick up the various "tribal matters" cards down the line, but there's no home-run card that I HAVE to put in any of my current decks.
I'm confident I'll pick up just the Dragons deck. I've always wanted to build a 5c deck, and feel like the legends from this deck are interesting enough to go with one of them. Initially, I was excited about building O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami as a "judo" style deck finding ways for opponents to attack me and then use ways to prevent the damage (Deflecting Palm, Selfless Squire, Constant Mists, Aetherize, etc.) and then using doublestrike and/or multiple combat steps to trigger O-K multiple times. Buuuuuut, that seemed a little more daunting and complex for my first 5c deck. Then I started leaning toward Ramos, Dragon Engine as multi-color tribal with some voltron sub-theme (don't have a voltron commander deck yet), and of course including Door to Nothingness and Legacy Weapon for added fun. Seems super fun, easier to build, and could have explosive turns, but I have a feeling Ramos will be popular to build in the coming months and that's a bit of a turn off for me personally. Thinking I should just stick with upgrading and improving The Ur-Dragon dragon tribal and work on smashing face.
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
I'm planning on picking up the vampires and dragons to modify. Vampires will get more removal and Shared Animosity straight away as im most likely to keep Edgar as the commander until I get a better idea/ get to know the deck a bit better. The dragons is a bit more challenging as there are a few Scion and Ur Dragon decks being played or planned in my local meta which I dont want to copy. Again I'll probably play the deck as is for a few games and then see what I will change apart from Mana Echoes
I ended up preordering the wizards deck as SCG had it listed at $30. While I was there, I also grabbed:

Prossh, Skyraider of Kher || Vial Smasher/Tymna Group Slug
Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief || Talrand, Sky Summoner
Yidris - Unblockable Saboteurs || Kiki-Jiki, ETB breaker
Kess, Dissident Mage
Alms Collector for Asmira
Scalelord Reckoner, The Ur-Dragon, Wasitora, Nekoru Queen, and Ramos, Dragon Engine for the Scion of the Ur-Dragon deck my current Intet Dragons deck will be turning into
Path of Ancestry for at least Scion, Olivia, and Kynaios and Tiro
Bloodline Necromancer, New Blood, Patron of the Vein, and maybe Kheru Mind-Eater and/or Bloodsworn Steward for Olivia
Portal Mage and maybe Magus of the Mind and/or Galecaster Colossus for Azami
Teferi's Protection somewhere, perhaps Selenia and/or Kynaios and Tiro
Mairsil, the Pretender is a splendid card but I don't think I want to make a UBR deck. I may buy the Dragons deck or I may simply purchase singles.
An all star in the 5 color enchantment deck is Repercussion. After hosing someone for lethal in the air with Onward // Victory and O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami, while you still have 12 power drop a Chandra's Ignition with Repercussion out!!!! oh your goblin deck has 8 tokens out aye? Take 108 damage to the dome.
Lots and lots of wide (token) creature hate with Caltrops+Circle of Flame+Lightmine Field+Powerstone Minefield+AEther Flash+Repercussion and then you make them pay dearly for having an army that is constantly dying to Burning Sands+Earthlink+Vile Consumption+Pendrell Mists+Mana Web+Vicious Shadows it's so fun wrecking people's infinite combos and slamming on them with a legendary spirit dragon.
I haven't brewed with anything else from C17 yet.
