for my The Scarab God deck, I'm looking for mill cards that do more than just mill. The reason being that the deck enjoys having somewhat full enemy graveyards to take their creatures, but milling is not the actual win condition. So once I've Traumatized an enemy, any further mill I draw will just be dead cards. That's why I prefer using cards like Consuming Aberration and Geth, Lord of the Vault. They can do some milling, but are also good on their own once you no longer need it- I'd be grateful for all suggestions in this direction!
Extract from Darkness is basically grab any creature you want from a grave + a bit mill.

Sword of Body and Mind, the "bad" sword (because its protection effects are the colors with the least removal, and opponents can always use the mill to their advantage), is still +2/+2, protection from two colors, and gives you a bear puppy token (and mill 10) when it connects.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
If you're just looking for ways to put cards in grave, then besides mill & just playing lots of removal, discard options. Plain ol' discard ala Delirium Skeins won't put the really juicy stuff in the grave since people will just cast it, but wheels can be great for this thing: Windfall works once, but Whispering Madness will really get the cards flowing. The new Rain of Hailfire seems good too, and you might be able to fit the Bloodchief Ascension/Mindcrank combo in.
...tbh I just recommend Whispering Madness to everyone I see who could potentially use it. It's my favorite card.

- Codex Shredder is a very slow mill, but also a colorless Eternal Witness and good counter against Vampiric Tutors.
- Sphinx's Tutelage has a costly loot ability.
- Altar of Dementia is a free sac outlet which saves your creatures and God from exiles.
