We already have a thread that is used to share the decks that you think were a let down.
I created this tread to help the community share deck ideas that worked out very well.
You may include fun decks.
Decks that have surprised you with how they function.
Decks that are unique.
please share with me what decks really worked for you and why
I'll start by mentioning my more casual deck for Oloro it was my first commander deck that I bought back in 2013 that introduced me to the game.
I used cards like Rhox Faithmender , Serra Avatar , and other life gain focus. usually i would swing with a hex-proof unblock-able Serra avatar for the win.
The reason I mention this deck is because it was some of the most fun i have had playing edh.
About 2 years ago I started looking for a new commander. I came across Oona, Queen of the Fae I turned it into a "well oiled machine" of combos and death. The reason for this hyper competitive build was because my meta had changed over the past 2 years.
But when you are playing a well made deck that you put a lot of time, effort, and money into and you play it against decks of the same caliber it makes for very fun and exiting games.

If your meta isn't super cutthroat he's just amazing to play. Every game is different, because he largely depends on your opponents' decks and game plans (supported by the usual mono-B control stuff), plus he scales amazingly.
Casual battlecruiser decks? Cool, let's play their bombs.
Hyper ambitious money sink decks? Would be a shame if i exile/cast your stuff, wouldn't it?
My Rakdos, Lord of Riots always gets me. It was the first thing I built and it was basically out of scraps. Now it kind of does the Eldrazi thing but no titans. The best thing was the other day when my friend who has played almost solely modern but has been getting into commander recently played it and had just the best reaction and had so much fun playing it. As a deck builder the way he laughed while playing it was such a great feeling.
See my signature. Temmet has been a sore for my game group. My combat-Jeleva deck also raised quite a few groans when people see it, they want her gone but fear her grander return.

Gonti has some amazing games. I think I slaver-locked someone with him once, and in another game I took 4 turns in a row and just won with some insane board state. All of that off a deck that is really just Gonti, some reanimation, sac outlets, + your standard draw and removal.
Plus if you don't feel like doing anything with anyone else's deck, just flickering Gray Merchant of Asphodel a bit instead of Gonti will usually win the game.
My signature has the link to my Xenagos, God of Revels hydra deck. It's a gruul deck that really goes after other people's resources to disrupt their gameplan well into mid-game while ramping itself into big hydras. To date, it's the only deck of mine that has never swapped a single card because it works in my meta, which is decidedly non-Spike. It's simple but effective.
My biggest that I really liked were The Gitrog Monster (I just updated my thread on it), Sidisi, Brood Tyrant and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight with an honorable mention to Alesha, Who Smiles at Death. Gitrog drew me to it when it was first spoiled as a) I like BG and b) I love playing lands. My first iteration of the deck was great with a few minor flaws such as no real end game. I think I was originally banking on Avenger of Zendikar to win the game.
Through my playtesting, my thread, and suggestions from others, I ended up tweaking a few things here and there and including a few new cards (Splendid Reclamation is one of the best cards in the deck). I changed it to have a better end game with Ob Nixilis and some more synergies with things like Strands of Night. Overall, the deck is performing exactly as I hoped it would. It is one of my favorite decks.
Sidisi was my take on Sultai that wasn't just "goodstuff". The deck is built with her in mind and, while the deck has a lot of goodstuff elements to it, I feel that it ties tightly enough with Sidisi as to make it a more cohesive deck than just all the best black, blue, and green spells. I had a Damia deck built at one time that was just a goodstuff deck and Sidisi is far and away the more enjoyable build.
I wanted to discuss Gisela over Alesha (Alesha is a fantastic deck that I built entirely around the general) mainly due to the circumstances behind the build. I used to play at a store that ran a league for points and every so often they would introduce a "theme" for that season. One theme was Red/White around Valentine's Day so playing a ed/White deck generated more points. I never had a red/white deck and they are tricky to build due to arguably being the worst 2 color combination in EDH. I chose to go with Gisela as my cousin already had an Aurelia, the Warleader deck and I didn't want to just rehash what he had done.
The deck went through a number of iterations. It started out with tons of direct damage to play into Gisela's ability and eventually moved into the final build of "damage matters" cards but also supporting it with an equipment subtheme. The deck can be extremely explosive and can be hard to take down. If I want to play a fast game, this is the deck I choose. My Brother-in-Law played it this last Wednesday and essentially won on turn 7 against 3 other people by one-shotting everyone with Gisela, Sword of the Animist, and Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion. It was awesome to see even if it did suck to be on the receiving end of.
My first EDH deck was a cobbled together Heidar, Rimewind Master deck made out of trade fodder and drafted decks put away in storage I hadn't seen for years. The overall cost of it is a little below $80, the cost would be lower but the snow-covered islands make up the bulk of the price, although I remember getting those basics back when they first came out.
The original small group of my friends I had mostly went for creature-centric strategies. So I had tuned my deck with cards like Frozen Æther , Guard Gomazoa, Silent Arbiter and Frost Titan to slow the game down while searching through my library with various scry effects, primarily Mystic Speculation, for answer cards to the situations at hand. Such answer cards being things like Evacuation, Reins of Power, Reality Acid and Serendib Sorcerer. It actually worked surprisingly well as it played like a control deck that wanted to flip the table on the opponent when they had overextended, primarily Reins of Power.
I just remember him wining games when he could get out early LD and a board wipe then put a grappleing hook or some other voltron pieces onto darigaaz and win with commander damage. He played very controlly for a jund deck and while it was not the best deck it still got him some wins. I'm sorry I cant show a deck list though.

An underpower general who could beat up those who played the decks you listed, I think that's impressive. Let's see if I can follow the trail and come up with something. :3 Thx
Manipulation of lands has always been one of my favourite things to do in Magic, and it tends to be one of the most underused themes. It also happens that Green was probably one of my least favourite colours in general due to their rather linear playstyle. Then comes along Commander 2014 previews, and I see not only a Commander that cares about Lands, but happens to be in my most underused colour. I knew I needed to build it, and I haven't really been disappointed with it yet.

My List of Current Decks: -Modern- WMartyrProcB BBurnR -Commander-
Selvala, Explorer Returned. I've never been a big fan of Selesnya. Just always felt bland and clunky to me. Then I got my hands on this beauty and it's been love at first sight. Such an explosive deck, leading to bizarre turns, wins that seem to come completely out of nowhere, 15 mana on turn 4, enough hatebear creatures in there to piss off a lot of decks...it's a nasty piece of work. It's currently my most-played deck.
Jori En, Ruin Diver is another one that surprised me. I'd been playing Izzet Spellslinger with Melek, Izzet Paragon before and while fun the deck felt very vulnerable. Jori En fixes all that. It's much more controlly, every move my opponents make have to be considered and the deck definitely isn't invincible, but it's always such a blast to play. I can imagine, however, that being on the other side of the table doesn't feel as nice.
And finally there's Olivia, Mobilized for War. Initially I built it as a joke Knight Tribal deck but there's joke decks, and then there's THAT pile of jank. It was horrible. So then I flipped through my binder and saw a Dragonstorm and a Rise of the Dark Realms I had left over and I was like, hey, why not make Dragon Reanimator? So I traded for some dragons and I now have one of the most glorious casual decks around at my LGS, churning out big dragons, usually winning through either the Storm, the Rise or...Balthor the Defiled. It's also notched up one Hellkite Tyrant win (Without Lattices) and epic plays are never far away whenever this deck is involved.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Initially silly ideas that have been positively scary:
Damia, Sage of Stone landfall; I certainly did not expect much from this at the start. Initially just based around janky spellshapers and dropping as many lands as I can and somehow riding that durdling to victory with a 7-cost general, has slowly morphed into something that creates a swamped, clogged boardstate that it then manages to turn into its' own advantage. A really odd combination of landfall midrange/control and a crazy amount of durdling for slow advantage, fueled by the lady herself.
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord that started just 'I want to cram all the cards that care about the amount of creatures in my graveyard into a deck'. Then after surpsingly few iterations, I realized that oddly enough the gameplan of rapidly stuffing my graveyard with creatures with no regard to boardstate that much, then Jarad-flinging a Boneyard Wurm powered by Strenght from the Fallen and Soulshriek... works. The deck works eerily well despite the initial plan being easily foiled by a Bojuka Bog of all things.

Zirilan of the claw.If he lives just one turn your opponents are in bad shape. I have learnt I have to mull super agressively to find a hand that can get off the ground ramp wise though.
"Whats your life total"
"38, why?"
"okay I can kill you then"
"wha?!"
Dragonlord Ojutai. A great non combo control win con commander in UW. I had my UW hate on everything deck for a long time but I just couldn't find a good commander for it. I found it really hard to close a game with GAAIV without combo. Brago was too combo orientated. Medomai was too vunerable. Isperia, supreme judge was actually quite good (won the game fast) but low on power level overall. Then Ojutai is a powerful card draw and win con that doesn't take up a lot of support cards to be almost unstoppable.
Xenagos, god of revels never disappoints me. Just having a guy stay on the board impervious to almost all removal is fantastic. I love turning fatties sideways and Xenagod enables them to do that. I never have summoning sickness when he is on the board.
The commander who doesn't disappoint me is Multani, Maro-Sorcerer. Quite a few of his pieces are fairly cheap to pick up and he can temporarily play the group-hug game with opponents until you feel like pulling the rug from right under their feet. The big guy himself is easily in the 20/20 to 29/29 range when he comes down and having shroud makes him a very sticky threat to remove from the board. As it really just comes down to playing something like Triumph of the Hordes or having a Brawn in the tomb. A few of his favorite cards are things like Rites of Flourishing, Howling Mine, Life's Legacy, etc.
Bruna, the Fading Light - I fully expected to be building a janky angel that's sometimes an eldrazi deck for the novelty of it, but it has a remarkable number of answers, and an excellent control element. It doesn't always win, but it's always reasonably competitive.
Thraximundar - It's aggressive, plays some of the funner cards in Grixis, and just builds momentum so well. It can't answer everything, but it's reasonably resilient, and most of the spells are high enough impact that it changes games on the drop of a pin. Mostly though, it's exactly what a grixis deck should be - really, really fun and really, really aggro.
Dralnu, Lich Lord - This guy has ALL the answers. He really is very good, and that first ability doesn't mean squat. He's infuriating to play against and being able to flashback at any point gives you a control suite you won't find anywhere else.
Nissa, vastwood seer - So much gas, and so many ways to win. Probably my best deck and it's very unassuming. No one expects to get handed their ass by an elf scout.
Arjun, the shifting flame has got to be the most fun general I have ever played. Wheeling cards in combination with Arjun are hilariously entertaining.
Geth, Lord of the Vault. I tossed it together out of a few zombies on hand and some mana ramp and board wipes. The first game was a perfect storm scenario and I demolished the table. I got a Prime Titan really early and went to town. Soon after I removed the zombies and focused it more on control and had an even better time after that using my friends cards to kick their teeth in.
Thada Adel, Acquisitor: much like Gonti mentioned earlier, every game is different. The closest thing to a wincon in this deck is Rimefeather Owl; it's designed to win with everybody else's cards.
Silas Renn, Seeker Adept//Tana, the Bloodsower: Oops! All Spells. Although it falls over and dies on its own about half the time, the fact that it works half the time in a singleton format is impressive to me.
Uril, the Miststalker: Foglio art tribal. With the exception of the general and the manabase, every card is illustrated by Phil Foglio or Kaja Foglio. (Plus two of the lands, since they only illustrated two.) Some of the cards are really bad (Trade Caravan), while others are format staples (Swords to Plowshares). It's also got some gems I wouldn't have expected to do as well as they do (Sunstone, Orcish Librarian, Black Scarab, White Scarab), and it even has a backup Uril (Rabid Wombat). The general slot gets a pass because they only illustrated two legendary creatures, which are both in colors I already had decks for, and less than 3 colors each.
I have a Queen Marchesa super friends deck that just seems to cause fury in opponents. It's primarily focussed on tokens and protecting the monarchy. Its been super fun to build, is primarily a control deck with a few vicious win cons.

My meta at the time consisted of
Competitive Animar, Soul of Elements $500ish
Competitive Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord $750+
semi competitive Darigaaz, the Igniter $250ish
Competitive Derevi, Empyrial Tactician stax $(too much)
And any unfortunate soul to walk into our shop.
But when you are playing a well made deck that you put a lot of time, effort, and money into and you play it against decks of the same caliber it makes for very fun and exiting games.
