Not sure whether to post this here or the MTGO section, so appologies if this is the incorrect one.
Just wanted to know if anyone here plays Commander/EDH on Magic: the Gathering Online? Is there a big population of Commander players on MTGO? Is it still fun to play even though you lack the face-to-face interactions?
I'm asking because I have no one near me (nor in a local LGS) whom plays commander, leaving my only option to be MTGO.
If anyone is considering possibly playing commander on MTGO, connecting via Discord (or whatever) could make the experience more enjoyable.
Let me know what you think! I'm kinda lonely here in no-commander-land...
Oooo! This looks interesting, thank you for sharing! I shall look into it in the meantime~
EDIT: Apparently the mainly use cockatrice. Not sure if I'm down with that.
Join us in the PlayEDH discord, it's been lightyears better than playing on MTGO or Cockatrice.

I play a lot of MTGO commander. Its a pretty mixed bag of decks and people. There are plenty of queues for less than $20 decks, so you can get started that way. Otherwise I'm sure cockatrice will be all totally competitive as you can use any card. So just depends on what sort of level of play. Do not fall for the money trap on MTGO like I have. Every new set means that I MUST get the new cards for my decks..damn you WoTC and your cunning money sink strategy
I haven't had a chance to participate yet, but I've seen a lot of people on the Facebook group MTG EDH Commander playing over skype. It's a closed group, but I'm pretty sure they still invite anyone who asks.
Never used Cockatrice before. That's why I'm hesitant to try. Is it easy to learn?
Cockatrice is very simple to learn, with intuitive design, and it's free. Our playgroup uses it for playtesting new decks or deck changes before purchasing the physical cards. It's worth giving it a shot.

If you have the cards irl, you can just point the camera at them and go!
I don't play on MTGO, so I couldn't speak to that, but if you just want people to play with I figure that might scratch the itch
