Hey folks, what's up? Hope you're all doing alright.
I also hope it isn't against the commander forum rules to make a little shameless self-promotion.
Basically: I stopped playing Magic, but I still enjoy the lore behind it. Since I enjoy writing and have written some fan fictions of Magic here on this site I thought I would return to those old habits. Just recently I finished writing an origin story for Kaalia of the Vast, one of my favorite commanders and my first actual commander. Here is the link to it: My version of Kaalia. Originally I thought she didn't have an origin story, just a bland paragraph written by Doug Beyer to go along with the commander products. However, as it was kindly pointed out by a user here to me, she already had an origin story, heh. I posted the links to her official origin story in my thread, but oh well, my story is already written, so be it.
I hope you can enjoy my story because it was some effort to try and justify how a meager human cleric was able to command hosts of angels, hordes of demons and flights of dragons.
Aside from that, the reason why I created this thread was to ask people if they had any commanders they wanted me to write about. I don't promise to be pumping out stories left and right like a crazy man heh, but if you like my writing and want me to write something knew or different about your commander, just ask me. I do take time writing my stories sometimes, but I make an effort for them to look good. I promise to make a decent research about the commander next time!
And oh, btw, if you want to write the story yourself by all means do it! I would be glad to read it ang give suggestions. It has been a while since I've tried to revive the "personal writing" part of MTGsal.
That is all! Thank you very much.

Would you like to read Commander stories? Check my latest stories, coming from Lorwyn and Innistrad: Ghoulcaller Gisa and Doran, The Siege Tower! If you like my writing, ask me to write something for your commander as well!
I fell in love with Ghoulcaller Gisa when she was spoiled in Commander 2014. I have collected 2/2 zombie tokens for at least the last eight years as they come out. Her "sacrifice for profit" ability makes so many other cards better:
Lashwrithe/Nightmare Lash allows you to make so many zombied every turn and for 4 life, pump one of them into a super zombie.
Thornbite Staff - This card requires a lot of mana to get going (4 to equip), and as a result isn't very good, but if allowed to remain equipped to Gisa... you suddenly can create as many zombies as you have black mana. Each sacrifice causes her to untap so you can do it again.
Deathrender - Get +2 zombies and put a creature into play from my hand for free?! Yes please.
Nim deathmantle - When I sacrifice a non-token creature (with an EtB trigger for even more value), I can now get it back into paly for only 4. My commander costs 3BB, so I know i will have a B to activate Gisa and the other 4 to resolve the trigger. Value town.
Empyrial Plate - We are in mono black. We will draw lots of cards. We will make lots of zombies.
Skullclamp - Sacrifice for even more profit... CARDS! *see above
=============================================
Beyond the equipment, the deck she came in has a copy of Skirsdag High Priest, which is a card from Innistrad as well and fits the flavor. I always liked to imagine that Gisa and the High Priest worked together in a bit of a comical way:
I imagine a situation where this demon is summoned from the abyss or where ever and it looks upon the ritual grounds where zombies are gathered and assisting this High Priest. It chuckles with power when suddenly WHAP! Gisa smacks it in the back of the head with her shovel knocking it unconscious and the zombies help drag the body into place and gut it open as a sacrifice which allows five new zombies to be raised. Those new zombie, in turn, are used to help the Priest with another ritual, and the cycle continues as the zombie army grows each time.
My point is that there are so many fun and flavorful cards you can play in a deck with her that are also quite good. I have my own stories I imagined for her, and am kind of disappointed in the official story.

Hey man! Good choice, I've happened to write a bunch of stories in Innistrad, so I know its lore reasonably well. Nonetheless, thank you for remembering the background of Gisa! I'm discussing a story request with @arrogantAxolotl via PM and we settled for something nice. His story will come first, but I can write yours second! I really like Karador, Ghost Chieftain. I always wonder where he is from. Not that many Centaurs in Magic, and he wouldn't fit with Theros at all.
Don't worry man! As soon as I finish the stories and talk to the people who asked for them I will publish it on the personal writing forum and update this thread with the links for the stories
Yes, Karador seems like an incredible character, I particularly like his flavor text. I can write him too, as soon as I finish the other requests that came first!

Unfortunately my favorite commander Latulla, Keldon Overseer already has a pretty extensive story in Moore's Prophecy book... And she kinda lost her head.
If you've ever had a chance to read those books, it would be interesting to see a fun take on an alternate ending for her? She loved her artifact jank, and the ending could easily be twisted to her having a mecha/double that got wrecked, and she survived.
You should write a story about Bruna, and fully ret-con what happened in Eldritch Moon lol I thought that her in that story made no sense, and I'm honestly really upset by the fact we'll never see her again

Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!

Hah, that is muddy territory for me, I'm not very familiar with the Old Lore of Magic. However, I promise to make my research on Latulla and do my best when writing her story. The only thing I can't promise is reading the whole book to get a feeling from her characterization, heh. So, if you want her personality to be very faithful to that of the book I would appreciate if you could point me to some short story where she appears, I will be very thankful
Alternatively you can just PM me with an idea of her personality (and I complement it with my research).

You got it, I can create a "what if?" story for Bruna, telling a different story than her becoming an eldrazi monstrosity.
Hah! I was wondering when someone would ask for that one, hehe. Sure, it will be fun!

My favorite Commander is Stangg. As far as I'm aware the entirety of the extant lore surrounding him is contained within his (amazing) artwork, his name, and his rules text. He doesn't even have any flavour text.
In my deck, Stangg and Twin lead a vast army of elves with a penchant for blowing up lands. I'd love to read about how that came about.
I second Gisa (and Geralf). The demented siblings are one of the few parts of the lore that I love, and I think they have great story potential, with 3 clear levels of conflict -- intrapersonal (mental illness), interpersonal (sibling rivalry), and environmental (zombie rampage) -- all of which could add up to a well-rounded and multi-layered plot.
I would also be interested in a story about the Sen Triplets. It was one of the first commanders I ever owned, and I've always been entranced by the art, but have never been able to find out its backstory.
Thanks in advance!

Indeed, Geralf and Gisa are quite the interesting characters! Since Drain Life requested Gisa, but not Geralf, I will focus on the sister this time around. I can write Geralf for you! I could write Sen Triplets as well, but I suppose I will see how many requests I get. The thing is: since there are more requests than I initially thought, I think I will write one story per person until the requests end, and then I can come back around and write the Sen Triplets story. Vorthos-player with way too much time on his hands and a love of thematic decks.
EDH - Yes, Each One is Named After a Song. I love tying music to my decks.
Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder already has somewhat of a story, but I'm sure there's some hilarity to be had in fleshing it out. All those thrulls - all that gray... 50 shades of gray at least. What did Endrek do with his thrulls that led to his eventual demise? What corpse-tentacled debauchery warped his fragile little mind and caused him to create seven or more thrulls in a fit of wonton libido? Wizards never answered those questions.
Ghoulcaller Gisa! I hope everyone can enjoy it! One note though: I still haven't properly double checked for spelling mistakes and things of similar nature, heh. I will do that tomorrow, but I'm releasing the story now in case someone desires to start reading it
Remember to give me your feedback on it! It is always welcome!

2) The decide to work together to take down Thraben
3) They kind of succeed and fail at the same time.
4) She is imprisoned.
5) Her brother breaks her out of prison.
6) She meets Nahiri and helps build the Drownyard Temple which is used to summon Emrakul, the Promised End
7) Something happens?
8) Gisa and Geralf are a card for some reason.

Now, to answer the other requests... I'm glad to see you here having a request to ask me man!
Sure, I can definitely write about Sigarda, I think Innistrad is the plane where I've written most of my stories so far, I do enjoy the place. It will take a while for me to get to your request, but don't worry, I will get it! Hah, yeah, that is a good question. What is about seven (or more) thrulls that kills him? Considered it added to the list!
Read my other stories as well (some ongoing):
Reaper King (a horror story), Kaalia of the Vast (an origin story), Sequels for Innistrad (Alternative sequels for Inn), Grey Areas (Odric's fanfic), Royal Succession (goblins),The Tracker's Message (eldrazi on Innistrad) and Ugin and his Eye (the end of OGW).
