I don't want this to be about whether or not the card should be banned.
I started playing Paradox Engine in Maelstrom Wanderer. When you general triggers the artifact 3 times, I assure you it feels pretty good. Mana abilities are of course the best tap abilities. Mana dorks and mana rocks are amazing. Also amazing are things that let you cast spells over and over again.
The best builds seem to be the ones that allow you to replay your spells. Buyback is amazing with Paradox engine... I have Capsize. Cloudstone Curio, Palinchron, etc. are even more busted now.
But I want to look for Tap abilities that are still relevant when I don't have the mana rocks available to get extra mana.
My deck always had an untap theme, with Teferi, Temporal Archmage, Kiora's Follower (even Ral Zarek at one point). Tradewind Rider is an all-star, helped by the fact that my general gives it haste. To a lesser extent, Crystal Shard is also amazing. I am quite sure I'm going to add Erratic Portal now, since cheap ways of repeatedly returning MW to my hand are even more powerful.
I have been trying to look through Gatherer for other cards with tap abilities that work well with Paradox Engine. They can be for any deck (I'm sure I have several decks that want to try it out). I think the best tap abilities, other than mana abilities, are those that are Free, and those that keep the engine going if you have enough mana. If it can be your commander, even better.
I would really like to look through all the creatures with tap abilities, but I can't find a way of doing it.
Do you know of any great tap abilities to pair with Paradox Engine (other than mana abilities)?
Some cards I found:
Adun Oakenshield with creatures that sacrifice themselves. Legendary, so you can build around. Hanna, Ship's Navigator with enchantments or artifacts that sac themselves. Legendary again.
Tradewind Rider or Erratic Portal or Crystal Shard - they can be used to bounce your things or your opponent's things. Very low activation cost is a plus. Keeper of the nine Gales - Bird-tribal Tradewind Rider can be good. Heidar, Rimewind Master - Legendary, can continuously bounce your own things or opponents'. Depala, Pilot Exemplar seems like a commander that could interact well. You can crew a vehicle as many times as you like, so you can probably chain a few vehicles/dwarves together with some mana rocks.
I would love to find more free tap abilities like Tradewind Rider... they don't even have to have a lot of synergy with Paradox Engine. I just want more value when it trigger it.
Something different... King Matcar and any Vehicle. Watch him run over any hapless victim with a cheap recurring spell. Run over your enemies and get gold! Sounds like a good RPG game.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Captain Sisay easily goes infinite with it.
Arcum Daggson also can easily win with this on board

Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)
I was skeptical about it actually being worth a spot in Dralnu, Lich Lord. I was very wrong. Paradox Engine is even more broken than I expected it to be. Even with just a Sol Ring and Dimir Signet on the board, all spells effectively cost three less, with one and two mana spells generating mana. Combine that with a repeatable way to cast instants and sorceries from your graveyard and you'll be closing games out pretty quickly.
One card that I've found very valuable as an enabler is Shrieking Drake, since it can bounce itself when you cast it. That card alone with any mana rock that taps for U on the field generates infinite storm count, cast triggers, etb triggers, all sorts of options to combo off of.
You got enough of artifact mana and something to bounce either Kozilek cloudstone curio is the best choice Ofcoarse with this you can get your whole deck out in no time.

Honestly I'm not even thinking that hard about what combos with it, because if the RC is even remotely competent, it will get banned soon.
From the January ban they said they are giving the paradox engine a chance just like they did for griselbrand
I remember that and that's fine, but if they don't ban paradox engine within a few months it'll be very disappointing, or if paradox engine somehow isn't broken (which it is; I have never seen a game where a person loses when a paradox engine doesn't get answered immediately).

Please do not discuss whether or not this will be banned in this thread. I'm trying to find novel ways of using the card, and this is the opposite conversation.
My favorite is still Strionic Resonator. All you need is some mana rocks or dorks and here's what happens:
Paradox Engine's ability goes on the stack.
Tap Strionic Resonator to copy Paradox Engine's ability.
The copy resolves, untapping everything that isn't a land, but the original trigger remains on the stack.
Repeat.

In my Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind control/combo deck i just basically went infinite with a few mana rocks, Azami, Lady of Scrolls and a few wizards. The synergy is just amazing. I was just chaining small spells together netting mana and cards each Paradox trigger. Once you get Capsize, a 0 drop like Mox Opal and at least 7 mana with rocks you get infinite mana repeatably buying-back Capsize and replaying the free card to untap everything. or just infinite uptap triggers to abuse to your hearts desire really.

Genesis Chamber Doesn't directly power the Paradox Engine, but it can help set up the broken interactions with things like Tradewind Rider and Cryptolith Rite.
Tangle Wire can be pretty nasty with the engine out.
Cards like Flickering Ward and Whip Silk are some of the easiest to keep playing.
Things like Puppeteer and Royal Assassin can be fun (Puppeteer pulls double duty in a deck that cares about untaps).
Bloodline KeeperKrenko, Mob Boss is maybe the best dude factory. Kazandu Tuskcaller isn't bad either.Dual Casting can bring in some shenanigans, and Lightning Mauler, or something similar may be important for giving your team haste.
This is the first time I've ever said this, but even Cohort does something.
Obviously mana dorks are all good, but I feel like Argothian Elder dissevers an extra shout-out.
It seems like pingers could machine-gun the board pretty easily. The best I found for the engine were Gelectrode and Goblin Sharpshooter, since they don't necessarily need the engine to get going. Brimstone Mage, Fallen Ferromancer, Brion Stoutarm, and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind shoot better bullets. Furystoke Giant could be kinda funny.

Niv-Mizzet is a good call, since he can keep drawing cards and machine gun creatures.
