Padeem, Consul of Innovation is an interesting legendary creature that is very underplayed/underrated as a lead general in the format. She has two very strong abilities. Protection of other permanents and card advantage are excellent tools to be able to access in the command zone.

I would imagine a Padeem, Consul of Innovation deck would run some general good stuff artifact spells like Darksteel Forge, Duplicant, and Sword of Feast and Famine. However I would really want to focus on running artifacts that usually aren't as good without hexproof bceause opponents seldom would let them stay on the board for long (i.e. Master Transmuter, Platinum Emperion, Caged Sun)

Padeem, Consul of Innovation should also run several mana rocks (Coldsteel Heart, Sky Diamond, Mana Crypt). Not only can Padeem, Consul of Innovation protect mana rocksThis would ensure Padeem, Consul of Innovation can get on board earlier, and ideally allow us to draw cards from her ability as soon as possible.

What some interesting ways to build deck led by Padeem, Consul of Innovation? I'm particularly interested in hidden gems that have strong synergy with her abilities and ways to protect Padeem, Consul of Innovation (i.e. Lightning Graves, Kira, Great Glass Spinner).

Note: I am not interested in playing infinite combos, they are frowned upon in my most of play groups. Additionally, I am not very fond of tutors (i.e. Arcum Dagsson, Fabricate).

Honestly, there is no way to make a interesting and unique padeem deck that hasn't been done before with other generals. Mono-U artifact Decks are kind of a thing. Muzzio, Arcum, Memnarch... they are kinda commonplace by now.

I would add at least Muzzio, if not Memnarch, to the 99.

Thran Forge is pretty bomb, you can give your General hexproof in response to anything for 2 mana. Otherwise yah mana rocks are definitely your friend, you've got the right idea. Liquimetal Coating is another one to consider, even though it's not repeatable. OH and Silverskin Armor. Any more I think of I'll post. Good luck man, don't let these haters tell you to play some commonplace crotch rot in the Command Zone, play who you want.

Liquimetal Coating is an excellent recommendation because it allows Padeem to protect herself for free. Also, it can't be targeted as long as Padeem is out. Additionally, it could also protect enchantments like Future Sight.

Ashnod's Transmogrant: Your general gets +1/+1 (2/5), is now permanently an artifact and by extension now has hexproof.

Surprised it hasn't come up yet but Mycosynth Lattice, Padeem and Darksteel Forge is a magical Christmas land dream for me. Add Memnarch and a couple of other harsh artifacts and you're onto a winner.

My padeem deck is pretty snazzy you can find it on manastack.com I run alot of nice little combos in it with several Mana rocks lots of draw power and paradox engine check it out it's named padeem's triumph
