Horobi, Death's Wail is cool with Kuro. This combo allows you to kill any creature for 1 life. When executing this combo I prefer Horobi as commander or with them both in the 99. It depends on your style.
Thousand-Year Elixir is pretty much the best with Visara. There are other artifacts that allow for similar interactions with her, Staff of Domination, Puppet Strings etc. She is also a lot cheaper to cast, for 9 mana you could cast her AND the Elixer in one turn if you wanted.
If the choice is between these two I would go with Visara because shes cheaper to cast.
His ability can pick off harder to kill creatures (indestructibles), and multiple creatures per turn potentially without any other card involvement.
CMC is a little higher than I'd like to see on a general for either of these two, but you are in mono black. All this means is your manabase will need to be well on point.

From your choices I would pick Visara. You don't have to worry about life-to-activate, upkeep, and her flying body is more relevant. Kuro has a better removal ability, but that set-up seems pretty extreme.
If you like the idea of exile+tap theme with Shauku, I ran her a while ago in a fairly casual design. You could easily translate the tap assistance over to Visara.
Toshiro Umezawa is definitely also a dude to look at since your theme is blowing things up. Let's you recur Vampiric Tutor, Wretched Confluence, and many other fun cards when you kill things.

This aint your girlfriends meta! This is a man's meta! TURBO META.
Not only is the demon removal on a stick, but it has variable power and toughness. It can realsiticaly get in for some serious commander damage.
Fun cards to think about: Empyrial Plate - Double the power
Venser's Journal - Life gain and no max hand size in a color that pays life to draw cards? Yes please!
Loxodon Warhammer - Trample and lifelink (again, this is a color that pay life in exchange for cards)
Nim Deathmantle - Activate Kagemaro, resolve Deathmatle, then Kagemaro's ability resolves but it survives with +2/+2. Intimidate makes it hard to block.
Whip of Erebos Let your commander go to the graveyard, then ranimate it for only 2BB and attack with lifelink, then activate its ability and put it in the command zone. A great way to reduce how often you pay the commander tax.

To answer your original question, I would go with Visara. You can use Thousand-year Elixir and Thornbite Staff to take advantage of her tap ability. Anything that can't die to her ability can be killed other ways in black.
"Whatever style you wish to play, be it fast and frenzied or slow and tactical, the surest way to defeat your opponent consistently is by dominating him or her in the war of card advantage." - Brian Wiseman, April 1996
I actually really like Kagemaro, First to Suffer. It works really well with almost every kind of Black card draw, costs less than both Kuro and Visara, provides its own removal, and can win through Voltron. I think I'm actually going to run him as my Commander. Is it worth running the Demon of Dark Schemes + Live Fast synergy in a Kagemaro deck?

Your new prescription eyeglasses don’t work. You still can’t see things my way.

Demon of Dark Schemes is an enginge in its own right, I wouldn't bother with Live Fast. Creatures will die, and when they do, the demon will get it's energy. It'll ping some tokens as it enters anyway.
As far as voltron goes, just remember that a)Kagemaro, First to Suffer has no evasion and b)p/t will not be fixed and will be contantly checked. So you'd need a pretty good black draw suite to maximize it's use. Which is fine, black is the colour for disgustinglevelsofcarddraw.

It doesn't need to be too refined. Just Cabal Coffers, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, and maybe a Caged Sun or similar.
That was pretty much what I meant. Maybe expedition map to find them. You could also add Liliana of the Dark Realms and Lake of the Dead if you really want to be certain.
Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest WUR Voltron Control
Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun WU Unblockable Mirror Trickery
Ra's al Ghul (Sidar Kondo) and Face-Down Ninjas
Brudiclad, Token Engineer
Vaevictis (VV2) the Dire Lantern
Rona, Disciple of Gix
Tiana the Auror
Hallar
Ulrich the Politician
Zur the Rebel
Scorpion, Locust, Scarab, Egyptian Gods
O-Kagachi, Mathas, Mairsil
"Non-Tribal" Tribal Generals, Eggs
