My strategy is stax.
You can play Smokestack, Winter Orb and friends along with Planeswalkers to generate tokens to fuel it/cheat around your stax strategy. Artifact ramp and Wildfire effects are also really good. Cascade is a great method to generate more CA and overwhelm your opponent.
In a 1v1 scenario, discard is great as well. I cant wait to cast something like Garruk Wildspeaker into Hymn to Tourach...so mean.
Ways to cheat costs could be really good too...Shriekmaw, Dig through Time could all be total blowouts if you're able to give them cascade, and are certainly worth including on their own.
Vorthos-player with way too much time on his hands and a love of thematic decks.
EDH - Yes, Each One is Named After a Song. I love tying music to my decks.
I don't know what I want to do with the deck, there's a lot of options:
Wheel effects like the in the original deck (plus some extra like Wheel of Fortune), but more creatures to discard into the graveyard for a big Living End Hypergenesis Combo, dumping a good hand onto the battlefield with a 1 cmc card cascading into Hypergenesis (and doing it again and again with Reito Lantern/Epitaph Golem)
Storm, casting ritual spells and cascading into free spells for a huge Mind's Desire or other devastating spell
Midrange value, cascading from things like casting draw spells to cascade into a kill spell and just having huge card advantage from each spell cascading or double cascading
I'm running the fourth right now, but thinking of maybe combining Hypergenesis too with it.
I dont know what your meta is like, but hypergenesis/living end are almost always guaranteed to backfire in mine
What im thinking might be correct is something more narsety, filling your deck with extra turns/combats, and trying to kill with general damage. My build is currently headed in that direction, although the only combat/turns shenanigans i have atm is relentless assault + sword of FaF combo.

We are in colors that carry graveyard hate (and artifacts too), so before we decide to cast Preordain or whatever into Living End, we can drop Bojuka Bog, Nihil Spellbomb, or similar to wipe away a threatening graveyard. As for Hypergenesis, we can tutor up a super-powerful effect right before it, dropping Omniscience, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, or another game ender onto the field off a 1 cmc spell.
Right now, I'm running similar to yours, grindy midrange with unblockable Yidris.
Hot Soup is really good the two times I've played the deck. Cascade into it easily then deliver piping-hot, nutritious meals to other players.
If you are late enough in the game with a deck that would have its yard full if creatures, you might as well just Cabal Ritual/Seething Song/Lotus Bloom into a big Rise of the Dark Realms.
The Yidris trigger makes mana rituals totally worth it for the free card.

I'm planning on building him into a punisher deck. Combining the remnants of my Nekusar deck with my Kaervek the Merciless.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Strionic Resonator seems rather good, too
