Animar gives me cost reduction, allowing for more spells a turn, but is high profile combo style deck.
Riku gives me double creature/spells, for more value per card, but is also high profile.
Surrak gives me casting protection and trample, but kind of bores me.
Yasova gives me deck illusion, as people will think it's a power boost/theft deck first, but the theft can work nicely as "removal".
The other Temur (Maelstrom & Intet) are more expensive to cast, and don't really add to the deck enough for consideration, in my mind.
Riku will be the best at facilitating extra land drops i.e. having 2 oracles of mul daya, or doubling a ramp spell or an avenger of zendikar, etc. And then you can run a few other doublers and reverberate type spells and a couple extra clones and go nuts having a million triggers. I always prefer a more synergistic leader for my decks, more synergy = more fun
Riku is generally the most synergistic choice for anything in RUG. Dem "For Commander" generals...

EDH RRGrenzo plays your deck, GGYeva's mono green control, WW9-tails trys desperately for monowhite not to suck RWBUTymna and Kraum's saboteur tribal, UWG Kestia's Enchantress Aggro, RUB Jeleva casts big dumb spells, RGB Vaevictis' big critters can kill your critters hard
I'd go with Riku. You can double your ramp spells and your things like Oracle of Mul Daya and Dryad Arbor. (See, you can always find uses for her!) You can clone a Wood Elves and then populate.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Riku is the best bet. I play a riku deck that is strictly based off of clone effects and it does a great job on the ramp. It only has about 3 ramp spells but thanks to riku my ramp acts as though it is double or even triple. E.wit can bring ramp back. Can clone solemn or just twincast an explosive vegetation. Or actually twincast it and twincast the twincast and vegetation.
My problem with Riku is, he's a 5 CMC winmoar... we already have a Riku combo in the meta, which doesn't help. He doesn't help the natural flow of the deck any more than Animar, who at least makes things like Oracle and Rampaging Balothss cheaper. I doubt Riku will live for long, most don't ignore twincasting Rampant Growths and cloning Baloths.
I don't know how you feel about it, but Maelstrom Wanderer is in those colours. If you want a reward for all that landfall, it could be tapping it for two cascades, a body and some mass haste.
Maelstrom Wanderer is definitely the way to go. Mass haste is awesome, especially for all the tokens I assume you will be making.
Also, that way you don't have to rely on your general for the deck to work, and it also is an awesome payoff for doing the things you would already be doing.
With the new Partner commanders coming in Commander 2016, you could use Thrasios, Triton Hero in combination with a UR or RG partner for a Temur deck with a commander that directly supports landfall. I think that should be worth considering as an option.
I actually had a RUG lands deck and I used Maelstrom Wanderer as the commander. I ran a higher than normal land count though and his purpose was to cut through all the lands I would have been drawing to hit gas. Overall it was a fairly fun deck.
Jace SHOULD be unbanned in modern. I hate all the people saying "JACE IS BROKEN OHMYGOD HE'LL TAKE OVER AND CAWBLADE WILL REIGN SUPREME AGAIN" when bloodbraid elf literally comes down after jace and kicks jace right in the crotch, takes jace's lunch money, and jace is left to bleed out on the sidewalk in agonizing pain.
I'm looking to play an Oracle of Mul Daya + Trade Routes + Rampaging Baloths style deck.

You can steal enemy creatures and sac them into Perilous Forays.
Animar is better for combo, Riku would be better four double spells, like double Harrow and SUrrak is for big creatures.
So I think you should go with Yasova or Riku.

R Citizen Cane (Feldon of the Third Path)
Good point. White has some nice landfall stuff too.

Not to mention the Retreat to Coralhelm + Knight of the Reliquary combo.
