What are some cards you've found that are very cheap in price, but when you play them, they have such a big impact that they feel like they should be worth their weight in gold.
No card amde of cardboard should have value near that price
I don't know if you're trying to be edgy or something but that was a dumb response. You obviously know what OP was saying and you know exactly how pedantic you sound.
I don't know about $100 or the feel of the card. But one card I feel is way undervalued is Riftstone Portal. There are just so many ways to utilize it and that's what I think, in part, makes a card very valuable. Honestly, I'd bet that this card in the foreseeable future shoots up from its sub-$1 pricetag. Maybe not to any astronomical number, but I bet it goes to at least a couple bucks.
cursed totem is a good cheap card and hoses alot of creature based decks. So many times people go "sac Steve to get a land" and someone starts laughing and goes no you can't cause the stupid totem.
edit: but for dirt cheap I can't beat ankh of mishra it has done so much damage in the games it comes out early. it basically says fetchland= lava ax + possible shock
Oh yea cursed totem is a pretty cruel card that can completely trash many decks. Elves, Hermit Druid, Nin, Jhoria, Prossh, etc, they all have to deal with it otherwise they have a bunch of vanilla dudes.
First card that comes to mind for me is wake the dead.
In a format where etb-value creatures are so common, this card reads; Pay black+black+X, where X = however many etb triggers you wish to rebuy, all during an opponents turn.
Some people miss that the required combat step is something that the opponents can't skip, so the only real hindrance here is when you need to re-buy an etb trigger before they leave first main phase.
The card can swing advantage of the caster, or the entire tempo of a game, so drastically. And it's usually for a minor investment of mana.
Since you want to be pendatic - a pound of cards is 257 cards. The value of one pound of gold is $1310 so a card worth its wait in gold is roughly $5, sadly quite a few of my cards are worth way more than their weight in gold.
As I found out last night during the inaugural run of Anafenza, Suppression Field can be back breaking. I was honestly surprised how much it slowed the game down between fetches becoming psuedo-Terminal Moraine , equipment not being cheap to equip, and planes walkers suddenly needing mana to activate.
10/10 would suppress again.

EDH UBX - Milling Zombie Horde (now with spliced mana!)
Capsize is ridiculously powerful for how much it's worth. Most of that is because it's a common, but that just means you can stick it in a pauper deck, too!
Seconding the whole card power should not equal card price idea.
But for crazy strong cards that are undervalued, Comeuppance has done some serious work for me

possibility storm had it out last night for a few games- its super powerful. Basically makes all counterspells useless and makes it so no one can play strategically.

If you can get a pound of gold for $1310, empty out your bank account buying gold. That looks like the price per ounce, which means a card worth it's weight in gold is closer to $80.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.
Ditto. Decks with Sol Ring feel complete and whole. Back in the day, Sol paled against cards in an already crazy fast environment.
Today, Sol shows real value by making some overly costly or slow cards fun to play, especially against decks top heavy with mana dorks. The current mana rocks selection kind of well... bites.
Mystic Monastery on turn 1 when I have no 1 CMC plays anyway feels like a better version of Volcanic Island. Then again, it feels like Sorrow's Path when I absolutely need to topdeck an untapped land and hit that instead.

You would never guess, at the terrifying sight of the man, that Hunding was as charming a companion as one could wish for.
Bojuka Bog/Repopulate/Learn from the Past - While most people prefer graveyard hate based on artifacts, the pleasure of dealing with the gy at instant speed/nearly impossible to counter is far more rewarding.
Faith's Reward/Fresh Meat - Dropping these after board wipes is just pure Gold. Can't count the number of times either ended the game in my favor.
Unravel the Æther/Deglamer - Will never get tired advertising these. With all the indestructible and gy recursion going on shuffling away Gods and Blightsteel Colossus at instant speed is best you could do outside of W most of the time.
Memory Plunder/Beacon of Unrest - While not really cheap moneywise i always thought these should have a higher price tag.
Primal Growth - So many decks that profit from the sac, plus 2 untapped basics. Count me in.
Creeping Renaissance - Superfriends, Artifacts, Enchantments, Creatures, Lands, ... If you got a permanent focus in your deck this is great value - twice.
orb of dreams literally 5 words and totally annoying. Making all lands come into play tapped and making defense harder along with mana rocks less enticing to cast.
