I think everyone has that one idea for a deck that buzzes around in their heads but never gets made, even if money isn't the problem. For me, it's Yasova Dragonclaw. I have a few options around her mapped out in my head, none of which are particularly expensive, but I just can't get around building her. She seems so much fun - curving from Hero's Blade/Lightning Greaves into her seems dangerous and that ability is a lot of fun but I just can't get to it.
What stories with not-made-decks do yall have?

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
I've been threatening to make an artifact-centric deck that included red in it for a good long while now. This desire was increased with the release of Daretti, Scrap Savant, but can never seem to decide what support colors I want to play, or what commander I really want heading the mostly-brown pile. (This also furthers how sad I was at the lack of artifact-centric commander in the most recent round of product. I can only hope for Kaladesh.)
Yasova Dragonclaw is crazy fun, but I think people focus too much on the steal mechanic. List in my sig is old but my list is now just a super agro deck that occasional steals stuff for extra aggro and removing a blocker.
The deck I can't seem to ever make is an Astral Slide deck focused on fliping Morph creatures. I've tried building different lists with Zur the Enchanter to tutor Slide, or Zedruu the Greathearted to do funny things like donate morph creatures then flicker them back to me.
Every time i make a list i come to the conclusion that it is just too janky. Would love to hear that i'm wrong though
I've had the cards for a UW Spirit tribal ever since the first Innistrad block sitting in a deck box at home...it just hasn't come together yet.
I also have been meaning to put together a 5 color Reaper King scarecrow tribal, but that has more to do with lack of good creatures to put in it. WoTC keeps giving me a few here and there, but I keep hoping for a few more good scarecrows.
Mishra, Artificer Prodigy stax. Part of it is cost (seriously Nether Void is expensive you guys) and part of it is I know my playgroup will hate it after a few times so I'll never really get to play it much. Which is a bummer because it's a sweet deck.
Mono-G voltron with either Thrun or Silvos, Rogue Elemental. The trouble is that I not only already have a mono-G deck but I also have equipment based voltron with Godo and Sigarda enchantress. Since I don't want to take apart any of those decks, and I have a rule about making decks that are too similar, I'll probably never make G voltron.

EDH playing competitive Magic cast away
Current Decks GTitania midrange RGThromok tokens/goodstuff | UB Grimgrin zombie tribal GW Sigarda enchantress | R Godo voltron U Braids aggro | WR Kalemne punisher RU Mizzix storm | BUG Mimeoplasm competitive reanimator | UG Ezuri infect
Treefolk Tribal with Doran, the Siege Tower - I built a Doran prison deck called Doran the Hate Tower, then dismantled it when nobody wanted to play against it. I decided to rebuild it as treefolk tribal, and the progress on that deck currently has 2 cards, which is an improvement from the 1 card it had 9 months ago.
Ob Nixilis, unshackled. I don't have a lot of the mono black staples at the moment, like cabal coffers, and it would be just silver bullets against a wide variety of decks. I just love his ability a lot.
I had a Rhys the Redeemed Elf tribal deck once and loved it, but it wasnt able to compete. After dismantling it for Ezuri, Renegade Leader i've sworn to come back some day and rebuild him, without the Elf focus... i am yet to, because it always feels wrong coming up with token good stuff. Cramping up tons of unrelated creature types just kills it for me. I'll propably trade him the moment someone's interested.
Zurgo Helmsmasher is one I have wanted to put together since I saw the duel deck art but all I can come up with for that deck is voltron/MLD which sounds like it would get boring fast. I keep trying to build a Mardu control list but it always feels off.
Sure, there is a chance of spending $4 on a booster and getting the Mythic Rare $30 super card. There is also a chance of surviving putting your tongue in a light socket.
I like the ideas of both decks but they both step on the toes of some of my current lists, and I just never seem to have room for them even when I'm tearing apart decks to build up new ones.
I don't know if I'll ever follow through on the Ezuri infect+buffs idea. It just seems like it would be so easy to make a brutal deck that I wouldn't want to play it very long in my metas. So then I think about self-imposed limits on the deck: only 1-2 creature-based sources of proliferate, very few if any ways to make my creatures unblockable, no tutors, no surprisemassdamage that kills everybody, etc.
So then I think to myself that those are a lot of restrictions and maybe I just shouldn't build it at all if I think I would need to nerf it that much.
I've got quite a few of these actually. I've been sitting on Sliver Queen, a foil Hanna, Ship's navigator, and I've been collecting different language Isperia the Inscrutable for ages.
Karador. I've been wanting to build a good 75% Karador deck for ages. The problem with that is:
The way I want to build it (with a reasonable chance to enable Emeria, The Sky Ruin) would be super expensive without falling back on proxies for dual lands, which feels kind of cheap.
Karador can easily power creep beyond the level that my playgroup is comfortable playing at, placing it in that uncanny "too good for 75%, not good enough for cutthroat" range.
E.g. last time I tried doing Karador, he would just keep grinding out threats and answers unless someone had like ten pieces of graveyard hate, which is a bit tall an order for a playgroup that's supposedly precon-friendly.
I've been doing every UR deck but avoiding Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind combo - but nothing really wants to win and have fun in EDH as much as Niv-Mizzet. Ugh
Kaalia of the Vast. I have built and disassembled that deck so often, and she never sticks. Finally I gave up.
For decks that I never actually get around to building... Let's see. It's Hazezon Tamar tokens and UB Faerie tribal. I like them. I want to build them. I just ... don't. I guess part of it is my rule of no overlapping themes among my decks, and since I have Darien for tokens, poor Hazezon just sits there in the binder, looking longingly at all the cards that get played.
As for the Faeries, I used to have a V. Clique deck. It was faeries. Then clones. Then various other things. Now it's gone because it ended up being a not-as-good blue control deck, when I already have Jace, Vryn's Prodigy for that. So my Oona and Wydwen join V. Clique in whimpering for a tribal deck that just won't happen. Faeries need more oomph than I have managed to give them. And I don't want Oona as any sort of UB control or what have you because I already have my Jace deck AND my Liliana deck.
Rakdos the Defiler. Full throttle, suicide black, demon tribal. I have a copy of the card that I pulled when I was a kid and have been dreaming of building it forever, but I always end up setting it aside to build something else. Once I finally put it all together, it will be glorious.
I've also built and rebuilt Tasigur, the Golden Fang way too many times. I love his activated ability so much, but didn't want to go the infinite combo route. I always try to build him as some super-political commander, but he just ends up getting taken apart.
Zombie wheels. Some odd combination of wheel effects and zombie tribal with no real strategy other than swarm and be a nuisance, all the while making bad puns. Can never decide between Nekusar, the Mindrazer and Thraximundar

Vorthos-player with way too much time on his hands and a love of thematic decks.
EDH - Yes, Each One is Named After a Song. I love tying music to my decks.

I've built and dismantled Karador at least three different times. Kind of the same problem... never managed to not find the spot that is 'fun, yet efficient'
I very much like the idea and flavor of the centaur spirit, but I have no idea what to do with him.
One needs to find a theme or idea for that is more interesting than 'Kamigawa Legendary Spirit Tribal' (literally, said legendaries and generic tribal support), but not quite to the cutthroat efficiency engine that is Karador built without some kind theme limiting it.
...bleh, my current Jarad and Teneb decks work the graveyard niche well enough, I guess.

For me it's Worldgorger Dragon combo. My biggest issue is that it's a one-trick pony type of deck and even though I would probably really enjoy playing it occasionally I doubt it would get enough regular use to justify having to spend out on the tutors and mana base necessary to make the deck consistent.
I built his combo in Bladewing the risen which was lots of fun. I have my list posted Here for refrence. I found it was a good place to run the combo: Reanimator and a Dragon themed deck.
The deck I can't seem to ever make is an Astral Slide deck focused on fliping Morph creatures. I've tried building different lists with Zur the Enchanter to tutor Slide, or Zedruu the Greathearted to do funny things like donate morph creatures then flicker them back to me.

Funny you all should end up in the same thread. There's a guy in my playgroup who runs a Karador deck with a whole pile of cycling effects (and dredge, of course). One of the cards he uses is Astral Slide. It's a useful piece of tech for resetting Angel of Serenity or Reclamation Sage. The deck isn't super competitive, and yeah, it folds to grave hate, but it seems like a fun build with lots to do.
For me it's an Elf tribal deck, not any specific one because I can never decide where to take it. I know I don't want to be mono-green but I like Bloodbraid Elf, Shaman of the Pack, Wilt-Leaf Liege and Edric, Spymaster of Trest too much to ever decide which colors to go. I mean I can always go 5 color with a pointless commander but I don't really like that, so I'm hoping that one of the commanders in Commander 2016 is an elf themed commander so I can get most of the pieces.
