I have recently fallen into a new playgroup that is far more casual than my usual group. This is more out of being new than being super casual I think. The store's new, and in turn the players are pretty new.Not all of them, but even the more experienced players haven't been playing for nearly as long as me or my group. Rather than start an artificial arms race, I want to build a more casual deck, while slowly convincing them that x card isn't broken because you can do this to get around or otherwise stop it.
More to the point, I've decided to build a deck around my favorite 'Walker, Chandra. Unlike the other times I've built her, this one will mostly include fire based effects that Chandra herself would probably be seen using in the story, or other cards that are related to her like her parents and glove. That means I'll probably include Jaya as well as her goggles. However, I want to make it playable despite including things like Incinerate.
Inferno (5th, 6th, or 8th edition): "Some have said there is no subtlety to destruction. You know what? They're dead." —Jaya Ballard, task mage Lava Burst: "Overkill? This isn't a game of Kick-the-Ouphe!" —Jaya Ballard, Task Mage Meteor Shower: "Eenie, meenie, minie, moe . . . oh, why not all of them?" —Jaya Ballard, Task Mage Pyroblast (Ice Age or 5th edition): "Just the thing for those pesky water mages." —Jaya Ballard, task mage Sizzle (8th edition): "Of course you should fight fire with fire. You should fight everything with fire." —Jaya Ballard, task mage Jaya Ballard, Task Mage: Because she's basically Chandra under a different name. And basically a planeswalker before the card type existed.
I might have to steal your idea for Chandra Deck with the full gogs and gloves. The red commmands are nice and will give you a bit of flexibility over just damage. But if the group is on the casual side you should be able to do something fun that wouldn't hold up in a cutthroat environment. Maybe Chandra had a toy Stuffy Doll growing up? Something she would whip a Shivan Meteor at for fun.
ghostfire is pretty bad in terms of cmc-to-power, but it does represent the spell from the scroll Chandra took in the original zendikar plot. Fun enough the Future Sight printing was in 2007, and zendikar wasn't even released until 2009, but the original flavor-text already hints about Ugin
Suggesting cards would help if you had an ideal deck archetype to start with. Do you plan on playing creatures, or lots of burn spells?

You could do a semi-aggro approach with top-heavy elementals like pyre charger/gerrard's irregulars/thunderblust, since the new chandra flamecaller makes elementals and almost every chandra deck in the digital games has a pile of these.
Alternatively you could go a sort of spell-slinger approach with all the value + 2:for:1 spells (volcanic offering/into the maw of hell/collective defiance/grab the reins/shattering pulse/reiterate/etc) and try to pack a lot of recursion (mizzix's mastery/volcanic vision/shreds of sanity/recoup/past in flames).
