Okay i have been playig Hyrule warriors for several months now *the 3DS version) and i am at the point where My obsession has grown to the point of wnating to build an EDH dck that has a LoZ theme
I want to go with RUG or BUG, (to represent the triforce, but not sure if I want power to be Black ro red. Most likely red) But that is pretty much as afar as I got, Aside form thinking of some equipment to represent the items from the games, Maybe teh spellbombs to represent the bombs, and of course there will have to be the master sword, which would most likely be Hero's Blade
so yes anyone willing to help please do so.

there are probably more I am forgetting (much more)
The hardest part will be finding a tricolor commander that fits Link. You could probably justify any three colors without too much of an issue.
Some possibilities:
Zur- load up link with his various "items" from your deck
Kresh - Link beats the bad guys and levels up.
Rafiq - another Voltron commander
Uril - See Rafiq
Jenara - Generic good stuff Bant that can win with commander damage
Well link might not have to be the commander since I am not focusing on link I am focusing on hyrule.
Animar does make sense (The goddesses formed the planet and elements...)
Animar isn't bad, though I'm actually going to put my vote in for WUB (power for its own sake is very black, and courage is a more typical white aspiration; beyond surviving, being courageous to save everyone).
Your options in those colors are sparse but the under utilized Dakkon Blackblade fits your theme in three ways: he visually represents ganondorf or one of his many allies/incarnations, he is wielding a mystical (dare I say masterful) sword, and his power and toughness scale as the land of hyrule forms around him.

Something to cnsider, but there is one issue, Link has always been and always will be green (While he may not start off with the tunic and hat, he will always get it eventually) thus it is unjustified to not play green.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

I understand this train of thought, though I was speaking more from a color-pie perspective; he wears green, but if Link were printed as a creature in magic he would almost certainly be a white creature with strong artifact/equipment synergies (think Stonehewer Giant, who is clearly the Big Goron from Ocarina of Time). This is also part of why I recommend white in the deck (especially Esper; WUB) as it, along with blue, has the strongest artifact synergy, and Hyrule is a world constructed around its amazing relics and weapons.
It doesn't fit the colors exactly as you asked but I feel the best Legendary creature that represents Link is Rafiq of the Many to justify the triforce flavor. Nayru is represented by Blue, Farore by Green and Din with White (as white is the color of justice and sometimes holy flames *a stretch, I know*).

There are a few ways to read it, it depends on what color you want to attribute to each goddess/tri-force piece.
Power= Green or Black.
Courage= White, perhaps Red.
Wisdom= Pretty indisputably blue.
In general green is pretty important to the LoZ series because fate is so tied into the events (as in the cycle of great evil and a hero yadda yadda)
I cant really think of a flavorful General in those colors though. But if you're going by all those different characters they don't really fall into just three colors.
Edit-
Though not human, Nicol Bolas seems Ganon-y with the whole obsession of power.

Idly curious how green can represent wisdom, given its the color second most prone to thoughtless action and most commonly animalistic.
I'll also add that Green is potentially closer tied to Ganondorf in Magic than even Black is (which is weird to say) but on a grand scale he employs a large number of Hyrule's monstrous and bestial creatures, and he takes gratuitous advantage of what the land naturally has to offer if it can help him protect himself or destroy his enemies.
Wisdom is about learning from experiences in life, though green also does include instinct which is thoughtless gut feeling. I could see Ganon being green and black, but out of current characters in MTG Bolas ses close on what he wants.
Really, the OP needs to decide on colors before we can make too many suggestions. For instance, if he goes Bant, it might be hard to work in iconic enemies like Stalfos (Though Octorock should be easy...)

I can see that. Really the three core concepts pull from multiple colors, but I assume the OP doesn't want to build a five color hyrule deck.
Yes, Ganon is a complex character, he definitely includes elements of Black and Green, and one could easily argue for a splash of red or blue. Ironic, really, Ganon is probably the most fleshed out character in the Zelda world when you get right down to it (you understand all his motivations and get to see him at both his highest and his lowest; when he is winning and losing alike).
Something to note. The goddess are not just associated with Power, Wisdom, and Courage. There also associated with other concepts and elements.
Din: Power, fire, and earth. Nayru: Wisdom, water, and time. Farore: Courage, wind, and forest.
Fire-red
Water-Blue
Forest... of someone does no say green i will slap them.
So i think RUG is still the winner in what i want to run.
As always, up to the deck builder, though you'll have a harder time with the artifacts and equipment that the world is built around without white.
I would also probably recommend BUG instead if set on green (that way you have both Ganon colors and have easy access to all the monsters you could want) though BUG is lacking in a flavorful commander option.
You also may want to wait and see what the upcoming four color commanders are in this years pre-con set.
If you're largely looking to represent the triforce and it's wielders, then the Temur colors are probably your best bet (and artifact shenanigans aren't impossible when you've got access to UR). If you're looking to represent the world of hyrule at large, then you're going to want to dip into all five colors, as the flavor of the color pie is such that few settings truly exclude a color, unless there's something unique to the setting. In terms of Zelda lore, W could be attributed to the Goddess Hylia (especially when you consider the fact that the land of Skyloft is not dissimilar from Serra's Sanctum) and the Hylians, while B could be attributed to Demise and the Twili.
It's at least kinda easy to identify the colors for the characters.
Link is usually green and white.
Zelda is usually Blue and White.
CD-I Zelda is Black and Red.
Impa is usually white.
Ganon is black. (Commander Greven Il-Vec is a close enough match to where you can say that's ganondorf)
I'm thinking go with a"Surrak Dragonclaw" as the commander. It's red, blue, and green. And "riding the dilu horse"(epona) and for creatures have mirfolk,elves, and goblins. Hero blade might be a good addition to it too.that's how I'm gonna make one modeled after LoZ

I think this is a fantastic idea, but since the thread didn't receive any activity since 2016, I highly encourage you to start a new thread to discuss this matter!
