It's certainly made for drafting. It's a very powerful set to draft with tons of expensive and effective cards thrown in. There are so many powerful cards that are some winks to past standard/limited combos. Roar of the Wurm and Wonder destroyed my childhood innocence.
Full spoil out and I am more disappointed than I thought I'd be lmao. So many bad rares and cards that probably shouldn't be rares. Shardless agent at rare with bloodbraid elf at uncommon. That's just lame. Bloodbraid elf is pretty much just as good (maybe better) in limited.
Oh I'm not complaining about them printing it at rare, I'm complaining about them printing it again, and again, and...again. This set is not for the standard or modern crowd, it's for people wanting to buy in to legacy, and to a certain extent, EDH. If these players want this card for whatever reason, they either already have it, or they can get it easily. If you think that pulling this out of a premium, high priced booster is cool or good for those formats, then god speed, but I would be pissed. That's all I was saying. Cheers,
I can't believe Crucible of Worlds didn't get a reprint in this set. It's a Legacy and EDH staple and the price tag on it is outrageous for what it does.
I also 100% thought Mirage fetches would be in this set, but I'm not super-disappointed by that like I am with Crucible.

Zen Fetches needed a reprint imo. As did some staple Portal cards but alas...
Was really hoping for a Grim Tutor or Cruel Tutor reprint. Instead they gave us Vampiric Tutor which I already pulled the trigger on twice just before EMA was announced. However, I got both copies at $25 each (Visions printing) so I'm not too worked over about it.
Disappointed at some of the most recent spoilers. Orcish Orciflamme? I have a playset of that sitting in my "proxy card backers" box.

EDH RRGrenzo plays your deck, GGYeva's mono green control, WW9-tails trys desperately for monowhite not to suck RWBUTymna and Kraum's saboteur tribal, UWG Kestia's Enchantress Aggro, RUB Jeleva casts big dumb spells, RGB Vaevictis' big critters can kill your critters hard
I also canceled a 2x box preorder at MSRP. I think there's much more value in just buying reserved list cards or singles of the higher-priced ones. The jank is real.
I was gonna buy some packs but after seeing the jank, and my luck with pulling the cards i need/want against the luck i have at getting things I don't want. I am gonna stick to just buying the singles.
I cannot comprehend why they haven't reprinted Three Visits yet. Why does one version of Nature's Lore need to cost $40?
Completely agree. The lack of Portal reprints over the years has just been mind boggling. I had a discussion about this about a month ago with my LGS and playgroup. Basically I said I felt like that WoTC needed to just reprint all three Portal sets in their entirety and most agreed with me. What really bothers me is just how handcuffed WotC is at times by the secondary market. If they want to reprint Imperial Seal for example, the collector's would be up in arms and it would immediately drive up the price of any product it was included in.
They are basically restricted to only reprinting some of the much sought after Portal cards to DCI Judge Promos like they did with Ravages of War
Pretty happy with Sneak Attack and Natural order but haven't looked into the rest in detail yet. None of the rares apart from Mythic Sphinx and Skybreaker are true <$1 jank but it would be a massive kick in the nads to get those.

EDH BRGKresh the BloodbraidedBRG, A box of lands and ideas.
Modern: RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.
Some of us appreciate the art But yeah, it feels like they kind of missed some reprints. Looking at it now, all I'm really excited for is cards with new art or foils for cards that didn't have foils. I think the excitement of the tutors and some other cards set me off. Don't get me wrong, there are a good amount but I guess I was expecting more, especially when they dropped Nimble Mongoose to common as one of their first spoilers.
I'm really happy with lots of the reprints. With that said, they really, really should have reprinted Worldly Tutor. They reprinted the rest of that cycle in modern frames and then give us....Green Sun's Zenith??? What a disappointment!

To be fair I think they wanted to throw a bone to Legacy, considering Green Sun's Zenith is played a lot more there (and it's banned in Modern, which means it can't enter via Modern Master, as opposed to say, Idyllic Tutor). It's not like Legacy scored a home-run in the set either, there are quite the number of cards banned in Legacy that are also reprinted in the set as well.
Personally I also would have preferred Worldly Tutor, but at least GSZ isn't complete rip-off by reasoning.
Is it even possible for wizards to print a new set that is "worth" buying a pack or even a box for? The entire point of opening packs is the gamble of seeing what you get. Even if wizards put money cards in every pack, wouldn't that just lower the value of those money cards to the point of them not being worth buying the box anyways? I fail to see a scenario where justifying a pack or a box ever makes sense if the only metric is value and not the chance of getting something great.
When I look at the Eternal Masters' list I see a bunch of staples that I don't have and many that I have wanted for a long time. To me this makes the gamble more worth it than any set I have seen so far.
Man, it's almost like pulling the trigger on sealed product when only the chase cards are spoiled is a mistake, or something.
Just be excited for what we got. Honestly, it's very good stuff compared to most of the Masters products we've seen so far. Hell, this has more good Commander stuff than most Commander product.
I'm very excited to see the price on one-mana tutors drop, as most of those are rare (rip Vamp Tutor). Same for Sylvan and Top and many other things.
Recommended singles from EMA because they saw price drops in pre order:
Dack Fayden
Deathrite Shaman
Enlightened Tutor
Entomb
Gamble
Maelstrom Wanderer
Mystical Tutor
Necropotence
Regal Force
Sylvan Library

Well I can't complain too much, they did reprint Mana Crypt, Sensei's Divining Top, Wasteland, Entomb, Hymn to Tourach, Sinkhole, Toxic Deluge, Blood Artist, Chain Lightning, Gamble, Pyroblast\Hydroblast, Sneak Attack and Vindicate.
But I do understand where you are coming from. It would have been great to have seen at least -ONE- Portal card like Cruel Tutor, Imperial Recruiter or Ravages of War
Therefore, every set ever is a disappointment amirite?

At least we got Natural Order. I'm still waiting for Worldly Tutor and Eladamri's Call to be reprinted in modern frames.
