I've put a lot of love, time, and energy into my Reaper King deck and it shows; nearly everyone at my LGS has been enthralled by the deck and has voiced their support of me for it. I'm a bit reluctant to talk about it here because I don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet and spoil exactly what it is (I'm working on a very extensive thread for it in the decklist section — more to come), but the deck revolves around assembling a ridiculous 19-card combo. It has become so popular that one individual has even pledged himself to help me assemble such combo. Yeah.

WUBRGMr. Bones' Wild RideGRBUW Trap your friends in an endless game with this 23-card combo!
Whether it's playing against them or playing with them (when I let somebody else play them), I get good feedback about my Surrak and Braids decks. Mostly because they have a little of that Timmy aspect to them with no degenerate shenanigans.
A couple of my decks get compliments when they surprise opponents, like Zada and Darien.
One group doesn't seem to like my Norin deck anymore. One of the members in the group made me promise not to use a couple cards (such as Confusion in the Ranks ) when he's playing with us.
My decks that get the most compliments are probably my Higure, the Still Wind deck, because people like seeing a deck that looks like ninja tribal win through storm combos, and my Rubinia Soulsinger deck because it's a 'Ladies of Magic' legendary-theme deck that sticks very strongly to its theme: 36 creatures and 4 planeswalkers, only 4 non-legendary (two of which don't depict ladies) and all legendary creatures and PW are ladies.
On the other hand, I have to limit how much I play my Nath of the Gilt-Leaf, as it's a well-tuned stax deck. For some reason, not everyone loves playing against stax all the time...
People hate my Ghave deck because it kills lands and locks down the board

Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)
The two decks that get the most positive attention are:
1. Intet, the Dreamer, topdeck champ. My version of Intet has a lot of topdeck manipulation, scry, and cute stuff like Call of the Wild, cards with clash (most notably, Titan's Revenge) and cards with miracle. People like it, because it's mechanically thematic, can close out games, and sometimes seems to have truly magical moments (like flipping Bonfire of the Damned with a Sensei's Divining Top on someone else's attack step, or Cream of the Crop + Call of the Wild shenanigans). Since all the cards either gamble with the top of the deck or fix the odds, the deck is always fun to play and well received. (also, I play my tops and scroll racks very quickly)
I second this one. My Intet deck however focuses s lot more on spells, when in team game Intet becomes neigh unkillable after so many counters and protective spells store under him, not to mention having the ease of infinite turns and kill everyone with general damage.
In my playgroup, you know you've built something good when the less experienced players copy you and your commander.
After a couple months of playing Rakdos, Lord of Riots, many are convinced that the general is one of the most fearsome, and so another guy made a deck a lot like mine.
Same goes for someone else and their Ghoulcaller Gisa deck.
I also get a lot of compliments about the ingenuity of my Ramses Overdark deck that works surprisingly well and shows a whole new twist of UB by playing auras. People appreciate it when someone plays a janky general and jams it full of janky cards and still manages to make it work.
-ve I played my multiplayer tuned Dragonlord Ojutai deck 1v1 against a 5 colour superfriends deck. he got a little mana screwed and i literally countered every play he made that game. He was pretty pissed about it saying If you are going to build a deck like that he should build a hermit druid deck and show me how to really play to win instead of for fun. I mean his 5 colour walker deck has a full set of duals and fetches + humility and other really expensive cards.
+ve People say they like to see My glissa the traitor deck run, I build a wonderful machine of value. kill a creature return a bauble draw a card, tick tick tick draw kill draw.
I dont understand this, can you explain the benefit?
Each of the pigs causes a trigger on Intruder Alarm, so the number of mills increase on a squared exponential:
1 pig => 2 cards
2 pigs => 8 cards
3 pigs => 18 cards
4 pigs => 32 cards
N pigs => 2*(N^2) cards
Still seems like it requires a lot of exile targets to make a particularly huge effect. Also they would need haste for that... Guess I do not undersand either.
You don't curse your own board and tap the boars. You curse your opponent's board and tap the creatures you already had, which presumably have more than 2 toughness.
People have complimented my Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet deck for being able to hold a lot of stuff at bay, while being a "fair" deck itself. TBH, I am not known widely for playing fair decks. And, people tend to appreciate it when somebody else's game-breaker has a response for it other than a counterspell.
My Sek'Kuar Deathkeeper deck got a lot of compliments for a while, since it would end with "crazy" board states like no permanents on the field other than Ashenmoor Liege and a bunch of 5/3 graveborn tokens. But then, cards like Jokulhaups got a little more play, stopped being viewed as super-cool game end'ers, and Sek'Kuar gradually morphed into Kresh, which was a lot meaner. It was new and original while it lasted, but it didn't last.
People have complimented my Marath, Will of the Wild and Aurelia, the Warleader decks for the same reason - "Goodness, I have tried a few times to get Sunforger to work for me, but it never did, and I see it's working for you here. What's the secret?" I suppose a lot of people haven't seen Brass Squire come out in a way where it's taken seriously. Marath has also gotten a few compliments for using Punishing Fire, for challenging the presumption that it's "bad in EDH".
Negative Comments - I don't think any deck has drawn as much ire as Keranos, God of Storms. It doesn't have any graveyard exile, White control cards, or enchantment removal, but it still tended to create games where no one could do anything. Then, it didn't help that the only win condition for it was Reset-Reiterate. Hated for basically all of the reasons people hate Control decks. I eventually dismantled it and traded away Keranos. Currently working with Mizzix, though. I'm hopeless.
1) Meren of clan nel toth I have gotten a lot of praise for this deck due to its ridiculous resiliency. I literally have built the deck to be able to withstand nearly any game effect. Its a recursion deck so spot removal and board wipe doesn't affect the deck much. and I even have ways of regainins my card out of exile at a fairly good rate. I can win with the deck from either direct damage, aggro or creature control thanks to being one of the few to include it that betrays int he deck.
2)Derevi, Empyrial Tactician I get praise for this deck because I didn't make it a prison deck like most other builds. its actually a pod deck that also is very versatile, and can use your opponents board states to your advantage by including copy cards and blinking abilities.
3) Jenara, Asura of war no one likes to play against this deck. Its powerful, especially in 1vs1 and emperor games. My group hates it because the deck is built to Kill a player in 4-7 turns, depending on your opening hand.
4)Talrand, the sky summoner My most hated deck. I'm undefeated with it in my play group. Literally a total control deck with a real nasty aggro side.
My Nin, the Pain Artist deck (a version is here on the forums) is still spoken of highly by my group; the synergy and multiple paths to victory are what keep it in mind. Maybe I should rebuild it...
After building Gaka's Norin the Wary deck, minus the most expensive cards, I became known at one store as the "Norin" guy.
Cheers!

I have an intet, the dreamer deck that people have praised for captivating the spirit of EDH. It is a library manipulation eldrazi deck. EDH used to be about playing the big dumb cards that did not work anywhere else but that has gone by the wayside. Intet does a good job of feeling like a deck of big dumb spells while still remaining fairly competitive.
Is "Like, come on! This guy is not even a player anymore! He's...he's just this force of chaos!" a praise for my Maelstrom Wanderer deck that cascades into random things that affect the entire table?
Braids, Conjurer Adept - while some players have gotten salty about the infinite turns, it gets a lot more praise by playing the political game so well. I have had tables gang up on someone just for killing Braids!
Omnath, Locus of Mana - this gets love mainly just because it tends to play like a slavering beast. I did have a few salty players that I recall who died from general damage: one who died after he chumped and I flashed in Tiger Claws, and the other after I used Avoid Fate on his Path to Exile
Kumano, Master Yamabushi - pre-Purphoros, this got a LOT of praise just because it was mono-red and won a lot
My Nicol Bolas deck get a lot of...um. Respect? I guess that's the word. There are two guys who quit playing Magic at our local game shop after meeting it a few times. They hated it that much. Other people have complimented me on how well it works, usually shortly before telling everyone else at the table "Kill him first. Nobody touch nobody until Bolas is dead."
My Cromat deck has gotten some praise, just from how much utility I get from the commander. He's a Swiss-Army knife and I use him just like one. People appreciate that. Liliana gets props too - nobody ever expects her to so the things she does.
People hate Oona, Queen of the Fae and Archangel Avacyn though. Oona is way, way too fast for casual tables and nobody likes a big game that ends on turn 5 or 6. And Avacyn wins by using mass land destruction, so the hate there is understandable.
Praise:
-Selvala: The very first game ended in back to back Storm Herds with a soul sister on board, and some applause. Later games have kept up, with more explosive and early token overruns.
-Toshiro: My most complimented deck, and a labor of love for the past three years. A good part of the deck is just an all-star team of my favorite instants in mono-black, from the ever-versatile Midnight Charm to the classic Vampiric Tutor to the always unexpected Withering Boon. It has a variety of win conditions, and is incredibly resilient.
-Marchesa: The aggro deck that laughs at boardwipes. There's always plenty of frustration around the table while the game is going, but when we're all stretching our legs and grabbing fresh beers afterward, everyone seems to agree that it was a good time.
Hate:
-Rayne: There's really only one person in the group who hates Rayne, but boy is he vocal about it. She's pretty standard wizard tribal control, with aura'd up Rayne smashing in as the primary wincon. Between her being slippery- Vanishing for MVP- and the aforementioned player being on the business end of a lot of the control when he tries to pull ahead, I can understand a little.
-Jaya: My group has a love-hate relationship with everyone's favorite pyromancer. On the one hand, I've gotten plenty of pats on the back for the deck working as well as it does. On the other, I don't think I've had nearly as many complaints about making the game miserable with any three of my other decks combined. I guess repeated lifelinkedInfernos bother them.

Opal-eye, Konda's Yojimbo ~ Rayne, Academy Chancellor ~ Toshiro Umezawa ~ Jaya Ballard, Task Mage ~ Yeva, Nature's Herald

Marchesa, the Black Rose ~ Sydri, Galvanic Genius ~ Alesha, Who Smiles at Death ~ Riku of Two Reflections ~ Sidisi, Brood Tyrant
I've gotten a fair bit of hate for my older, now disassembled decks. Especially Talrand hard control and Shattergang stax/land destruction.
Lately I've received some more compliments across the board, but especially for the Sigarda 1.0 deck I built as a loaner. It contains no tutors or complicated synergies, just a lot of token generators and some power cards like skullclamp, as well as a modest voltron package. People genuinely enjoy borrowing it! I'm kinda disappointed, because I couldn't balance it well against the Lazav deck I built for the same purpose (Lazav is weaker and struggles to interact).
I think the most negative reaction I've ever got from a deck was an elfball deck led by Radha, Heir to Keld. Often I would have multiple temporary power/toughness bonuses and floating mana from all my elves, so my turns would shut the game down while I tracked all the numbers.
I think my most praised deck has been Lovisa Coldeyes, if only because it's unusual to see. It's also fun to get people rooting for the Barbarian Horde to go on to victory.
The decks I've had that got the most hate were Tasigur, the Golden Fang, and Jace, Vryn's Prodigy. Tasigur encouraged a lot of colusion and it was a pretty grindy control deck, so it was pretty miserable for the people I didn't pick to help me out. Jace was just a control deck with a couple Eldrazi Titans thrown in as a win condition. It just slowed down the game, recurred time magic, and was all around miserable to play against, even if I was losing.
Back in the day I made a Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon I thought would be fun because everyone would gun for me and I might enjoy the 3 v 1 if I made the deck for it. I was wrong, I didnt like it and neither did the person who invariably dies right before I do, both way too soon.
Most of my decks have a theme, and don't win a huge % so they get plenty of compliments
If people are sick of reading about stuff just stop taking part. You have 100% control over what you read. Simic Ascendancy isn't going to get banned just because you didn't tell someone to shut up on the internet.
captain sisay gets praise because she always gets ganged up on and no matter how many spells they counter or permanents they destroy, sisay keeps dropping huge threats.
My foiled out arcum dagsson deck gets praise for being beautiful, followed by groans or praise for being powerful as well.
My daretti usually gets groans. Last time I played it I got a turn 2 win (workshop + metalworker followed by staff of domination and a handful of artifacts) and even though it has all kinds of wincons, I keep finding mycosynth lattice and vandalblast which nobody enjoys. Except me, who enjoys it immensely.
People seem to like my Edric, Spymaster of Trest deck for its creative elf tribal theme and the way Edric's ability changes the game. People like drawing cards and they don't hate being overrun by giant elves.
Roon of the Hidden Realm gets some praise but even though I built it from scratch when he first released, most people's Roon decks are similar blink/value machines.
People hate Ghave, Guru of Spores because somehow every game I end up with a different infinite combo on the table without realizing it every game. So I took some of the combos out and it kept happening. I stripped it of tutors and several powerful combo pieces now (keeping Earthcraft) and it isn't as insane, but the memory is there for those who have played against it. Ghave enters every battle with a target on his head.
Nissa, Vastwood Seer has become quite beloved in my group. It started as a budget green deck but over time we spiced it up a bit. Somehow it hits that sweet spot between powerful and un-threatening. The general keeps the threats flowing but never draws too much heat. When someone newer to the format/game joins our group we give them Nissa and they will always be in the game regardless of how well they know the format.
Braids, Conjurer Adept is a deck i thought people would hate but ended up being a favorite. I think the key is regardless of who wins with it out, Braids accelerates the game where as most blue decks do the opposite (until they combo kill you). The threats in braids are also more like big sea monsters and not crap like Eldrazi so people tend not to mind losing to a big Kraken even if some annoying blue cards help back it up.
Decks People have hated:
Krenko, Mob Boss - Winning the same way basically every game gets stale fast. I also had Mana Crypt and the full load of BS so some draws were just unbeatable.
Derevi - Even with a very strict bird theme that included such hits as Sage Owl and Carrier Pigeons the deck still went 7-1 lifetime before it got "retired". The general cant be stopped and no matter how lame your creatures are getting a million twiddles a turn is tough to beat.
Trap your friends in an endless game with this 23-card combo!
A couple of my decks get compliments when they surprise opponents, like Zada and Darien.
One group doesn't seem to like my Norin deck anymore. One of the members in the group made me promise not to use a couple cards (such as Confusion in the Ranks ) when he's playing with us.
