I've gotten bored of the inconsistency and all overness of my current deck and decided to go the route of sac/reanimate. I know Mimeoplasm is king for graveyard cards, but I'd rather not have my commander rely on graveyards having creatures. Instead I'd like to focus on sacing/stealing/reanimating to control the board.
Damia is typically seen more as a control player than reanimation. I'd go with Sidsi instead because it is very easy to get cards into the GY and then get them out via your reanimation package.

I've throught about Sidsi, but I'm not interested in milling myself more so than recursion of my pod, if that makes sense. I guess, I'm trying to find a way to think outside of the box with her colors, despite there being better alternatives. I would still run control cards, to also, I seem to lack in the defense department, and if one element of my win-con is exiled, out of the two win-cons I have, then GG for me.
Damia can absolutely roll a graveyard-based deck, and can be an absolutely unstoppable snowball after a certain point. Discard outlets for gigantic beasties, reanimators to get them out of the grave, some Mulch variants to get you rolling (both lands and graveyard), sac outlets to keep stuff rolling and/or to be able sac the things you steal, etc... takes a bit to get such engine going, but it has potential to get really ugly really quickly once you get ol'gorgon lady out.
Some of my experience with non-control Damia:
People want to kill her. They want to kill her badly. A lot. No, seriously, she is a very juicy kill spell target because she 1.) costs a lot and 2.) can very quickly turn the game to your favour if you so much as get to your next upkeep with her. Since she already costs seven mana, you really, really want her to stick around on first cast.
What this means?
Backup. Counter backup (love my Negate and Countersquall, thankyouverymuch), shroud outlets, indestructible outlets, even regen outlets... ramp to get her out fast... basically, Damia can be very powerful, but unfortunately needs a fair bit of support to get going.

This I can attest to. Damia is usually either captured as soon as she is cast, or returned back to the command zone. So, I figured, being able to either return her to her home, or put her in the trash, I can resurrect her before my turn come to refill my hand, or keep her protected, Cavern of Souls cast her, etc, etc. I was hoping to dedicate perhaps 5 - 6 ramp spells, max of 8 artifacts, 20 protection/control cards, and the rest graveyard love ( within the spec of say 36 - 38 lands). Of course I'm open to alternate suggestions.
Also, I have Negate sitting infront of me, which I need to get into my current messed up deck, and I need to pick up Countersquall.
Do you, FoxOfWar have a deck list of your Damia build? Just curious?
Landfall as a main theme instead of reanimator, but a lot of same cards can be applied (discard outlets are good in both, for example).

This whole post right here is why I suggested not Damia - she is hated off quickly and when you start needing to pack counters to stop, you are shifting away from traditional reanimator and going towards control with a reanimator sub-theme. I've seen this happen time and time again, so that's just my 2cents.
I run her in my karador deck and imo she is one of the worst creatures in the deck. Reason for this is that she is a really juicy steal/clone/reanimate target that does not provide immediate value for you. There have been many games where my own sheoldred becomes a real nuisance for my plans.
In general you don't really need loads of reanimation targets like sheoldred but ways to get to a point where you reanimate a creature that basically wins you the game (or atleast gives you a really good position to win the game). The real heroes of my karador deck are cards sakura-tribe elder, kami of false hope and altar of dementia.

What would you then suggest as an alternative route to take on for Damia. I've tried asking before but I just get mill/DEN + Palichron combos, and that's all I seem to see. I feel like bug has more potential than that, but my newness to the game just doesn't really give me much to research on. Especially when every tappedout deck, and several decks I've seen on here are just about going infinite with Blue Sun's or some form of infinite mana.
In my meta, honestly, I've been able to keep Damia out for say 3 - 4 turns, however I failed to mention that initially.
I'm not meaning to say anyone here is wrong, I'm just trying to learn as there's very little on her and her potential. All I've really gathered is build her with < 3.5 curve.
I guess there would also be an option of building a reanimator as you normally would, toss in some theme-friendly ways to protect Damia (Diplomatic Escort, Stronghold Machinist come to mind) and keep her as a backup way of filling up your hand rather than the main gameplan. If she sticks around, great. If she doesn't, carry on like you would without her. If you don't build around her, in turn you will have more space for the deck to work without her being around in the first place.

Thank you, those are some interesting cards I've never seen in the bargin bin that could be considered in my quest. The way I see it, either way I choose to build Damia, I'd have to put in enough to protect her if she becomes target. So then with the other cards, what are then other non-boring/overdone things I can do with her.
One that I tried to run was asceticism + dryad arbor / Treetop Village + Intruders Alarm + Squirrel's Nest. But that was too much. When I first started I did DEN/Palichron + Exsanguinate/Avenger of Zendikar/Genesis Wave.
I don't see a lot of reanimation/graveyard play.
Or maybe MTG is just burning me out a bit. I'm just thinking out loud.

The quoted text is pretty much the nuts and bolts of it. If you find Damia is okay for awhile and doesnt just die all the time, then keep it going. My experience is with people who've played Commander for a long time, so they have per-conceived notions on what a deck with her may or may not include.

I gotcha, then as a more seasoned player, what would you suggest I do to better utilize her? Of all the BUG commanders, she's the one that appeals to me the most, heck, even out of all the other commanders of colours I've seen in the store and in the Primer lists in Multiplayer forum set apart from Sen Triplets which I've learned is a no-no.

I would default to the control/combo builds because her card draw lets you replenish your hand quickly. I do not see her as a reanimator commander because she does nothing to contribute, or even utilize, the graveyard. These are the reasons I brought up Sidsi or even Mimeo, because those commanders benefit from cards hitting your GY, which is the key to reanimator decks - cards need to be getting into the GY easily so that you can cheat them into play for cheap.

Thank you very much for your insight. Everyone of you in this thread, but especially you VashBismark. Thank you.
I've done a Damia draw-discard build. I enjoy it because its janky and doesn't get hated as much as control. It certainly had a reanimator sub-theme Here are some list suggestions,
Draw
You still need some cheap draw despite having Damia. Stuff like Fact or Fiction or Rhystic Study or Necropotence. FoF is especially great since it'll fill your yard. I know some people don't like Necropotence in 3 color decks, but my mana base isn't that great and it's never let me down yet so eh. In some variants of draw-discard I went hardcore draw to "mill" myself out and win with Laboratory Maniac while discarding/playing the stuff I got for value. Abundance - So much fun and great for card selection. It becomes spectacular with something like Manabond out.
Discard
The best part. Rites of Spring - Discard your hand of fatties, find 7 lands. Drop them to... Manabond - Discard outlet that gets some real value off land heavy hands. Words of Wind - combine with Damia, 7 mana, and Manabond for fun times for everyone. Zombie Infestation - Absolute powerhouse! Mind Over Matter - I had quested long to find a fair place to play MoM, this is it. Grimoire of the Dead - My favorite bait card. It's usually terrible because people blow it up at 3 counters, but here I don't mind just getting the discard. If it pops then hey bonus goodies. Usually however this card is just a discard outlet and removal bait. Way better than Rise for its cost and discard potential. Mindslicer
Also keep in mind your hand limit is a discard outlet. If you run any number of extra draw along Damia without a Reliquary Tower, you'll be discarding.
As for creatures, just insert your typical Sultai bombs.
I'd also like to mention Geth, Lord of the Vault since its on theme with jacking creatures from the pod. I don't recommend him, but it's an option. I bought one for my own Damia deck when I first built it. But quickly realized with Damia you want many cheap spells that generate value in one offs rather than engines that make you spend mana for on board effects (leaving you with a full hand).
Last note: this is an extremely casual deck and I haven't built it in a while (though now I'm hankering). I think control Damia is better but I have to say winning with draw-discard-reanimate is really fun.
Those are some fantastic cards you've listed. I've been researching several decks and am more fond of bouncing threats, as far as control than I am to mill. However, with certain mill and resurrection, that seems more like a didn't see it coming.
I do have Fact or Fiction, Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora and Consecrated Sphinx (which usually always gets stolen *shrug ). Not sure if I should run all four, but I do for the time being. I am considering taking out the Sphinx and Remora mainly due to theivery, and Remora is too conditional. Late game, not worth it, too early, sits in my hand for 3 turns or so, and I'll be windfalled/wheel of fortune/etc discard hand by that point.
I know that Necropotence is way OP, and I have finally, just 2 days ago, ordered one. I've been debating to get one, but will have to have someone explain to me how to utilize it to my potential.
With your side note, I am not looking to hit competitions, I am just at my LGS, and trying to keep up with some of these more developed 2 different combos in their decks, deck. Most annoying deck I play against is a Riku deck.
Don't forget Greel, Mind Raker... unless you're not the only reanimation deck at the table.
Ooh yes I had indeed forgot Greel. I in fact have one I got for this deck. Shame it costs XB instead of a static cost, but the flexibility is nice and they don't get to pick their discards. Its not bad at all to just B+tap and discard 2 cards to fuel reanimation shenanigans.

Some cards I've considered are:
Sheoldred, Whispering One
Treachery
Repopulate
Stitch Together
Victimize
It That Betrays
Sisters of Stone Death
Reanimate
Life's Finale
Rise of the Dark Realms
Liliana Vess
Grave Betrayal
I'm sure there's possibly more I'm missing, but I was wondering if anyone had a deck list lying around that isn't from 2011-2012 to help shape this.
I don't know why, I'm just having such a hard time figuring out what to do with her that's not Palichron + DEN
If this doesn't belong here, I apologize, mods delete.
