So I feel like this would be a fun game to play. Suggest a commander for me to build a deck around, and I will try my best to build something interesting. A few rules:
1. Commanders must be available on MTGO
2. I'd prefer not to see submissions of widely used competitive commanders. Krenko always ends up being Krenko, Derevi is always Derevi. The only exception I'd make to this rule is if you suggest the commander with some sort of relevant rider, e.g. Derevi Birds Tribal.
3. Avoid Vanilla commanders from Legends unless you have a neat angle. The same goes for French Vanilla. Unless you give me a theme to work with, these would just end up as goodstuff decks with a crappy commander. For example, don't just offer up "Kasimir the Lone Wolf LOL", but instead "Kasimir the Lone Wolf, where he is the only creature so he really is a lone wolf".
I'll check suggestions on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Whichever suggestion gets the most votes, I'll build and post on Saturday, for everyone to tear apart. I'll focus on making the decks on theme or focused in their play style rather than competitive, but I'll try to make them as good as I can within those constraints. Oh, I'll also be playing these decks in the casual room, so I'll share some results. Feel free to take the challenge yourself as well.

Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
The Lady of the Mountain - Giants Tribal. She's a Giant, and in Gruul she's the legendary giant with the biggest stats. So, as a bonus, make sure the deck actually WANTS to cast the Lady sometimes.
Good luck.

Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
If Asmira gets it, I might go some sort of token sacrifice route. G/W sac would be interesting.

Barktooth Warbeard
Beard tribal, every non-land card has something to do with beards, whether thats in the art or in the name.
If Barktooth gets it, I'll make it Beard and grooming themed. I'm worried there might not be enough cards in his colors with beards to make a full deck, so if I need to I'll throw in things with cut, razor, or something similar in the name. Hell, Wall of Razors needs to be in it regardless.

I'd love to see Surrak Dragonclaw counter police (anti-control/aggro) with new dragon punch action. I have looked but not seen this theme be utilized, and on a commander that actually is kinda powerful, its odd in a format with the best counterspells and some of the best creatures.

You would dare to profane a beard deck with something as unmanly as a razor?
So far 5 for warbeard, all others only have 1 vote. I'll call it tomorrow evening and begin working on it, as it may take longer since I'll have to look through art.

Mina and Denn, Wildborn. Competitive Land destruction and weenies deck.
Its something I'm trying myself, would be interested to see other peoples attempts to make smackdown work at the 'big boy table'

The beards have it. I've begun assembly of the deck, and hope to complete it soon. I count any beardlike chin adornment, so Bolas' dangly goes in for crux of fate, as does art with male Kor. Horns don't count. There are more beards than I thought, so the razor and grooming subtheme will be either eliminated or barely present. Curse of Bloodletting will be included as a warning to show the consequences of beard removal.

Ok, so I ended up with a bit of an ld and discard subtheme. I have 39 mana producing lands, due to a lack of any ramp, plus Bazaar of Baghdad for the epic beards. A few card of note:
Dong Zhou, besides having an epic beard, can straight up kill out of nowhere. Casting him and targeting a giant Hamletback Goliath or some other beast will be hilarious.
Master's Edition Hymn has a bearded dark wizard.
Purphoros, Impact Tremors, Warstorm Surge and token generators create an enters the battlefield theme
Boldwyr Intimidator laughs at all the beardless cowards. Helps Barktooth, who is a warrior.
Really, this deck is disjointed and unpredictable. Its pulled in a lot of different directions, and runs a lot of pure crap alongside some great cards. No ramp whatsoever is a major handicap, so I'm likely going to get crushed 1v1. Multiplayer might be interesting, unless someone thinks Barktooth is just a cover for a combo deck. Will report on Saturday.
Edit: Greed out (looked at it again, beard isn't good enough), Abyssal Gatekeeper out, Exuberant Firestoker and Phyrexian Totem in.
