I do like it (along with Veil of Birds) a lot in Jalira, Master Polymorphist - it's a one drop creature (assuming I can wait a turn - the chances of no-one casting a spell in a full turn rotation are pretty low), so ideal to sacrifice to the general, that I can't polymorph into, thus helping ensure I can get something good from her ability.
Not really sure where else I'd want it though (the birds can go in Edric)
If it gave Trample or something I'd be interested in the card for being a decent effect on a repeatable body. As is...meh.

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
The new Rhonas's Monument has this same effect, with trample, when you cast a critter. So no blink shenigans, but the trample is there. Too bad the Forcemage doesn't have flash. Unless you need the body, use bloodrush creatures or that flash-bestow satyr.

You mean Boon Satyr? Yeah, costs 1G more, but flash is a huge deal for combat tricks.
For pumps, they really need instant speed or to basically win the game like Overrun.
The real problem is, Rhonas's Monument gives all creatures this, provided you cast them, is an Emerald Medallion for 1 more, and is a wincon in Animar.
4/10 He's not bad, and I could still see an oddball place for him in Animar or Ruric Thar (though he compares poorly to Briarpack Alpha, which is strictly worse than Briarhorn) or perhaps an elf tribal deck, he's just seriously outclassed. Like, I could think of two cards that are better than him in Animar, and one's strictly worse than the other, and both have flash, ah-aaaah-ah!
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Yeah, the one off nature of that creature and lack of flash or trample kind of makes it useless. The primal variety makes me imagine a deck that generates large amounts of tokens, then feeds them to Greater Good in order to draw the whole deck.
...yeah, even when I am searching for monogreen ETB effects, this falls quite far behind.
(Primal Forcemage, on the other hoof, has a home in Yasova, which is all about that haste-aggro.)

Back in the day, we used this with Ley Druid. There are plenty of better options now on the Ley Druid side, but this is still useful. Or, just as a "fair" landfall enabler.

As previously mentioned, since it is EOT bounce after activation, it can get really good in a tap-untap matter deck with something like Fatestitcher so you can pull a bunch of basic's out faster.
I'm sure there is some combo with something like amulet of vigor or retreat to coralhelm that can be used to pull all basics to play. Not very exciting, but easily possible.
Good card. Wee bit slow, but exceptionally good if you have untap shenanigans going on.
The more color an EDH deck, the more nonbasic lands it usually has, so I'd recommend this one for 2 or less colors. Once it gets rolling though, it filters the deck really well even without untap shenanigans.
I have only ever had mediocre results with Glaciers; it ate Wasteland effects a lot. I do really like it in conjunction with Top, Scroll Rack or Future Sight effects. Best luck I've had with it was in my Bladewing the Risen deck where I used it as a shuffle to help dig, the added fixing was usually unneeded but still welcome. I had added value with it by playing Deserted Temple (for Coffers shenanigans) and it was still only a 3/5 for me.
In a Geth deck this would probably be better than usual. Geth should already be running Amulet of Vigor and Deserted Temple. In my Geth deck I also used Lake of the Dead so Glaciers would help feed that. Now I want to rebuild that...
Run it in Jaya, which is a grindy, long game deck that wants to hit all its land drops. Basically the perfect home for this card. I haven't really used it anywhere else. I've always wanted to combo it with Stone-Seeder Hierophant for obvious reasons.

Can't say this enough. I love pairing it with Rings of Brighthearth. Memnarch and Jaya are currently the only lists I have that play it. In my opinion, most mono color deck should play Thawing Glaciers.
Combopiece in Sram Storm, pretty useless elsewhere.

Briefly made the cut for Tajic, Blade of the Legion. His biggest downside is a lack of evasion and this is perfect evasion with 0 downside on him. The downside is pretty minor in a lot of EDH metas in my experience. We're currently on a little bit of a burn kick here and it wouldn't be nearly as safe, but I don't pretend that my meta is representative of the broader game.

I've used it in a Pharika Voltron for the same reason. And it can be used on something with hexproof, though that still leaves the potential for Earthquake and Pestilence type effects.
