My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Also useful with Sylvan Library to get the cards you don't feel like paying 4 life for out of the way. Today you would use scry cards or Alhammarret's Archive for the same effect.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
I love this dumb, game-slowing card from the bottom of my heart. Have used it in a dumb casual deck outside of Commander with Psychogenic Probe and Cosi's Trickster.
Don't underestimate the political nature of this card.
"If you attack me I'll make you shuffle your library, then I'll untap him and make you do it again"
And he just generally lets you be a miserable prick if your so inclined.
"I end my turn, I'm going to go use the bathroom before it gets back around to me." "I have a response..."

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
At best, it's a 3/3 flier for 2U.
Which...isn't within the realm of typically useful EDH cards. Let alone it's worse option.

O-kay, then...So, this is what a common sphinx looks like...
I would note that the mechanical baggage of iconics often disappears at common. Renegade Demon has no downside, Voice of the Provinces isn't particularly good on defense (or anything, for that matter), and this has no riddle.
2/10 As late a draft pick as anything with flying deserves to be, and more or less worthless in Constructed.

For some reason, Rakdos flavor text always makes me snicker and I really want a Juri card. That said...this is a rather skippable card, though it can do a nice burst of damage the mana cost is just too much.

If it was a 4-drop, I think it would be more playable. Or if I had more creatures in my Yidris deck, it'd make for a nice cascade.
Yeah, it's just a big mess of mediocre. Returning creatures from the grave to the hand is generally much less powerful than returning them to the battlefield, and we have plenty of direct-to-battlefield reanimation at 4cmc or less. And the creatures that you DO want to return to your hand rather than the battlefield are usually pretty low CMC, given that you likely plan on hardcasting them. And low CMC usually means low power, so you're usually getting about 3 damage from this at the upper end.
Stapling a disentomb to a conditional lightning bolt is not worth an extra four mana. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd play it in EDH if the cost was just RB.
Excellent in a chris jericho deck. (for flavor text)
