A staple in all those hilarious and original Child of Alara wrath crawl decks. Blech.
Yep, I run it in my Child deck. The only nonland permanents that aren't indestructible (or can't make themselves indestructible) are Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, Sun Titan, and Eternal Witness. Boom Baby explodes repeatedly, swing with indestructible creatures for profit.
It's also amazing in lands-focused Child lists, to help recover some of the life lost from all of those fetches and shocks. It's one of the few affordable, repeatable sac outlets that doesn't get destroyed by Child.
It's a good example of my favorite type of Commander card: Amazing in one deck, but mediocre to bad basically everywhere else.
One of those odd cards that isn't all that bad. It's a repeatable sac outlet and until quite recently I saw Miren, the Moaning Well get plenty of play. This doesn't require you to dedicate a land drop to it, can save your stuff from exile/theft pretty nicely and shore up your life total. Of course it is still 3 mana each time you want to use it, but as far as repeatable sac outlets go, you could do worse.
No Wizards, we need our auras to be more RESILIENT, not more FRAGILE...

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Origins had some difficulty. Only the planeswalkers were going to be doublefaced. This would be fine as a C uncommon as a doublefaced aura that does nothing on the day side and gives +3/+2 and trample on the night side in SOI, but here, not so much.
I find it interesting that after the afflicted reverts to human form, the lycanthropy is cured. That's bad flavor.
1/10 Literally the only good thing I can say about this card is that it passes the Sun Titan test. You'll be using them together a lot, if you are completely ignorant of the dozens of better permanents with CMC 3 or less RW has (a.k.a. just about all of them; even Ball Lightning has some use with Pandemonium/Warstorm Surge).

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
I know they wanted to reference the Werewolf mechanic from Innistrad, but they went ahead and used the drawback of said mechanic rather than the advantage.
This could have easily been "At the beginning of each upkeep, if no player cast a spell last turn, return Call of the Full Moon from your graveyard to your hand." Knowing R&D, either the buff from the aura were be reduced severely or the card will get a hefty casting cost instead, but at least the card "feels positive" while still meeting the flavor criteria. As it is, it just makes me think R&D hates Werewolves (to be fair their track record regarding Werewolves aren't exactly stellar...)
Well, as an even-more-fragile aura, not even the likes of Uril, the Miststalker wants to touch this, honestly.
Maybe in Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest? It looks OK for him as a effectively one shot pump plus evasion (4 mana for +4/+3, trample and double strike) with the upside that it might stick around if you're lucky.

Shu Yun doesn't lack for vastly better options than this. Maybe in the worst-ever, 34-cent budget version of Shu Yun... but I think even there you'll have lots of better options.
Seriously though, Skullwinder may be a worse Eternal Witness but even a worse Eternal Witness is a good card. It's a political tool, in combat it's much better as it can serve as a pretty good deterrent to grounded attackers, so it has a few points over Witness. On the other hand, the political tool bit may backfire pretty badly, and Witness plays very nice with Skullclamp which this snek doesn't. Oh, and do note that nowhere on the card does it state that the opponent you choose actually has to have cards in the graveyard, so you can play around with that. And it has cool art.
All in all I enjoy this snek, but I often find myself lacking for space whenever I think of including him.

There was an episode of Commander Clash where this card proved to be an excellent piece of tech against Rise of the Dark Realms. The player casting RotDR was forced to reanimate this, and any player they targeted would inevitably get back a wrath effect.
Maybe WotC will print some legend that turns all your creatures into pingers, and this will become a staple in that deck? It is probably one of the best deathtouch creatures.

I have this in a deck I've yet to play, mainly for the purpose of comboing with Second Sunrise and Faith's Reward. We'll see how it works in actual practice.
Yeah, it's kinda jank when compared to Eternal Witness, but not the worst card in a vacuum. More political, for sure. The body is a bit more relevant than EW's simply for the deathtouch, which is nice, but nobody is playing it because it's a 1/3 DT.
I play this in my Sidisi, Brood Tyrant deck and its been good every time i played it. Usually this comes down before my opponents have good stuff in their yard and all they get is a fetch or ramp spell.
I think it's a really good card. It shines in decks that have adequate graveyard hate, or playing it will provide the table with an answer against an archenemy-type threat. Deathtouch is also not unwelcome.
I'm sure there are some I am missing. Noxious Revival in the right deck.
In any case, there are a lot of options, and I feel like I would always take a more expensive option that will always be good over a Skullwinder that could backfire.
It is also easier to play than witness with only the one G needed. At worst this is budget witness but as said before has IMO better board presence after the ETB effect.
Solid card, extra solid in the perfect deck and would play again.

That depends if you wanna Skullclamp your witness.

A valid point but considering that when on board most people use it as a rattle snake (literally) trade blocker I wouldn't say it wears the clamp badly. Slower yes, bad not really.

It gets the first question on the test right, but manages to flunk the test regardless.
