I put Skullwinder in my Karador deck as soon as I got one. Great political tool. Good recursion option, better than Greenwarden of Murasa and any Instant or Sorcery version outside of Wort, the Raidmother or 1v1. There are very few things Karador doesn't want them to pull back.
A very crew-efficient vehicle that grows pretty quickly while being immune to most sorcery speed removal. That said, it's still a french vanilla and it takes a few turns before it's a really big threat, so...yeah.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
I'm sure there's a good place for it. It's fairly efficient and effectively gives tokens/weenies haste and a buff. That's not enough for most decks, but this is one of the vehicles I can see being played with some success.
There's also the obvious answer of King Macar, the Gold-Cursed, where a lot of the vehicles are snap includes.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.
This is a strong creature overall, and I have yet to test vehicles in Commander a lot so grain of salt, but as with most creatures being "just big" is rarely enough. It feels insane to say a 5/5 Trampler for 4 that grows bigger every turn isn't good enough, but in an artifact-heavy deck you have access to similar burly threats across the curve that also have bonus effects; while Hangarback Walker, Su-chi, and Walking Ballista are smaller on 4, they do more overall for you. Meanwhile, for just a smidgen more mana we have Wurmcoil Engine, Steel Hellkite, Scuttling Doom Engine, Triskelion, Psychosis Crawler, Arcbound Crusher, Lodestone Myr, Karn, Silver Golem...lots of good stuff. And an artifact-heavy deck usually finds it is quite effortless to ramp from 3 to 5 or 6 so the 4-drop slot isn't as crucial.
I imagine there are decks that want this, such as a more aggressive mono-brown deck or of course Depala, Pilot Exemplar, but overall I think it's just a little too narrow.
3/10, since I do think it is among the best things you can be doing in Depala or a hyper-aggro Kozilek/Karn build, but it isn't super playable outside of those specific niches and those aren't top-tier decks.

That's a really good point. I was evaluating this as a 4/4 Trample for 4, but it might make more sense to think of this as 4 to play, 0 to equip, equipped creature gets +3/+3, Trample, Haste, and an extra +1/+1 for every time you've "equipped" it and then attacked.
In that respect this is actually a card worth considering in more than Depala or Karn; King Mac certainly but also possibly a lot of R/x aggressive token decks (think Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer or Radha, Heir to Keld).

I considered running this in Sram. It didn't make the initial cut, but I am considering swapping it in for... something. Not sure what yet. Sram has better things to do than go ride a train, but the train would give Recruiter of the Guard or Heliod's Pilgrim something worthwhile to do after entering the battlefield.
Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth -> infinite colorless
Tap Depala (to crew a vehicle, or with Paradise Mantle equipped), spend 100 mana on her trigger -> put all my dwarves and vehicles in my hand Cultivator's Caravan gives me W if I don't already have it -> cast Mirror Entity
Activate Mirror Entity for some absurd amount -> swing with trample.
Cruiser and Dragster have built-in haste+trample, so when I go off I can kill two people. But if I'm at a four-man table, I need some means to give haste to Freighter or Express. I have a few options, but none of them are vehicles or dwarves.
This technically carries about the same properties of Raging Ravine as far as I see it in the format (I'm writing off trample here). Sure, crew 1 is a lot easier paying 2RG for sure, but the point is you usually don't rely on vanilla beaters like either until it is a last resort or if it convenient to do so. The train fares better on the convenient end, but quite terribly on the last resort end (creatures tend to die often), whereas even the hefty mana cost for Ravine usually works in either situation, so I can consider it to be more or less evened out.
The real issue is what they do otherwise - Ravine is at worse, still a ETBT dual land, while unless you have a way to utilize the artifact property of the train, the train isn't that helpful at all. Even if you can make us of it, the train still has to compete with many situational artifacts and depending on the deck, I would say there's healthy competition (Ravine also has its fair share of competition, but I daresay lesser, although that is due to color identity).
Fun card I loved in Limited (and flavor), but I reached past the point of EDH that it would viably make the cut over its similar competitors. Not the most terrible of choices for newer/more casual players though.
I made a sydri deck where the point is to animate stuff like howling mine/key to the city/winter orb and then crew them to vehicles to turn them off. trample + deathtouch + lifelink is also pretty cool.
Oooh, one of the 5 Granddaddies of the format. Of the 5, Nicol Bolas is obviously the best one, but Vaevectis might actually be the most lethal one of the bunch. He is in the colours of big mana, which means it becomes surprisingly easy to one or two-shot opponents. Of course, it's still a hefty cost to pay up front and he lacks trample, but Green does not lack for ways to trample through, and Black and Red are well equipped in the Clear-The-Skies department. Combined with the haste outlets Red offers you on top of that, and you have something deceptively dangerous on your hand. Though, of course, this is mostly for casual tables.
Oh and you do of course get style points for playing an original Elder Dragon.

Next time WOTC does arc (or four-color), they could do that. Maybe include a Piru card with Chromium too.
In my talk of mana fixing and devotion, I have a list of what to call cards that cost more than one mana of a given color:
Dupe: Two colored mana, e.g. Cathars' Crusade
Trip: Three colored mana, e.g. Furnace of Rath
Imbalanced: Two mana of one color and one mana of another color, e.g. Absorb
Square: Two mana of one color and two mana of another color, e.g. Experiment Kraj
Quad: Four mana of one color, e.g. Phyrexian Obliterator
Rush: Five or more mana of one color, e.g. Rushwood Elemental, its namesake.
Hybrid: An adjective indicating hybrid mana.
Blade: Those "one mana of the main color, one mana of either other color" hybrid cards from Alara Reborn, e.g. Esper Stormblade
Elder: Two mana in at least three colors
Another thing I love about these guys (though not Asmadi per se) is the metal theme naming. I wish they'd done it with all five instead of just three.
Anyway, this one is surprisingly deadly in Voltron. Just suit him up with Fireshrieker and spend four colored mana. Of course, at 8 mana, you'll also need a lot of ramp. As an elder, you'll need a lot of mana fixing.

Andi Rusu has illustrated some nice Magic cards, but I think this is his weakest piece.
I prefer to pack a strong commander along with a weak theme rather than play a weak commander and have to rely on a goodstuff deck to win. And there's not really a lot to build around with an 8 mana general with a 3 mana upkeep. The elder dragons are in theory cool to have in the command zone for flavor points, but if you don't ever cast them, it's instantly the full measure less cool.
I give exception to Arcades Sabboth here. Make a bunch of tokens with very large butts and you've got yourself a noticeable gimmick.

Personally I actually really like the art. Looks real vicious.
Lets be real for a minute: Any flier that big as your commander is a very real threat to win the game via commander damage. Chromium heads my Esper Dragon tribal deck, and he, despite being clearly the worst of the five, has killed his share of players. Bolas is obviously solid because his effect is brutal, but Vaevictus is pretty solid as well. Already others have mentioned the fact that he is easiest to one shot someone with, sometimes with little to no warning. Being the Jund Elder, he has access to the most dragon matters cards, and the strongest ones at that. Even if you aren't going all in dragon tribal, running Crux of Fate can at least clear the way while leaving him unscathed, Atarka gives him double strike (which basically makes him lethal), then all the other good Jund colored cards that A) you already want to run and B) go well with a one shot driven commander. I like him as a one shotter better than most voltron strategies in casual, as you don't have to put all your eggs in one basket. All the Elders can be fun at the head of a deck.

Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
The guys are basically the ultimate "Just for the colours" commanders. You're asking for a lot of trouble if you build your deck in a way that really counts on being able to cast and keep around an 8-cmc general with six coloured mana spread across three colours. On the other hand, all five of them provide a substantial, if inefficient, threat ready in the command zone late game should your decks Plan A through Plan Z all fail. And, of course, if you're going to play a general just for the colours, these are among those where no one will ever really fault you for it.
I really want to build an Arcades Sabboth deck one of these days, but I'm waiting for a really interesting idea that wants Bant colours but doesn't have a commander option that actually fits the theme.
