For obvious reasons I have a feeling we'll never see a reprint of this card - and I don't mean because of the reserve list. It's a pretty good anthem though, as far as mono-white anthems go. Sadly it's current text specifies one opponent, so you can't benefit from multiple players having the same colour, which means they can easily destroy Jihad by nuking the permanents of one player.
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Reminds me of how in FF6, Crusader was named Jihad in Japan.
Anyway, this is arguably better than Glorious Anthem in monowhite most of the time, but...that's a low bar. Amazingly, there are no strictly betters of this.
The real problem is that opponents can just nuke it by nuking the targeted player's permanents.
Meh, if I have a small anthem (+2/+2 or less), I generally prefer it to do something else as well, or have flash.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
I would play this my in old color hoser/tribal hater Tivadar of Thorn deck, simply for flavor reasons. Other than that, it seems like it would just bring out the more petty trolly aspects of the EDH players - you know the ones....."Oh your opponent has one (insignificant) colored permanent that you named the color for?, oh okay gonna blow that up now just because LOLUMAD"

Better for Heliod than elsewhere, as the three white symbols go a long way to activating his creature mode, and he makes tokens so he synergizes with it twice.

Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!

From my experience both playing against Heliod and piloting other Theros gods, getting devotion is a bad thing - there's a lot more ways to remove an indestructible creature compared to an indestructible enchantment.
Never been too fond of the Morbid stuff unless it has a VERY strong effect. This just doesn't cut it for me.

Depends on the God. Heliod as an enchantment grants vigilance and acts as a mana sink that pops out 2/1 tokens. Vigilance shouldn't be written off and crapping out tokens is great, but an indestructible beater is better than team vigilance and if you have enough mana to make his mana sink ability pull its weight you have enough mana to recast him a couple times.
Mogis, Purph, Xenagod, Erebos, Karametra, Kruphix, Athreos, Thassa, Keranos, Ephara depending on the deck, maybe Iroas and Phenax, are better as enchantments. Heliod, Nylea, and Pharika are generally better animated. Honestly, Iroas, Ephara, and Phenax are all maybes as

A 5/6 without evasion isn't really what I'd call a "beater" in this format - indeed, it's not really something I'm concerned about at all in a typical game. But maybe it's because the guy in my playgroup has built his Heliod deck in a weird way (using the enchantment tokens to abuse the hell out of cards like Serra's Sanctum and Skybind), but the deck is so much easier to deal with when his general gets caught up in things like Toxic Deluge and Hallowed Burial or can be killed by Swords to Plowshares. Sure, he can afford the command tax, but it sets him back a turn each time, which is not worth having a moderate sized creature (he actually tested the deck with the BW Daxos, but even the addition of black couldn't make up for the fact that his general was always dead).
Spot on flavor for the name of the card. Unfortunately we live in angrier times now so it's a no-go..
why a noGo? is that your perspective or do you think its wizards perspective not to print such cards atm ??
i think it is really a cool card as it marks that for WAR there is a bogeyman/image of the enemy needed. remove those and you can have peace again. its also important to speak the truth in harsh times. a taboo is what prepares the way for more blood. cards like this make possible to talk about stuff.
I think it would be WotC's perspective, since it may attract bad media attention. Who knows, after all we live in the era of hyper political correctness.
When the images were first released, people were expecting Hazoret to be an Anubis expy. Not so much. As for the gameplay, Hazoret generally doesn't scale all that well to EDH standards, but there are a few ways to make use of her. Grafted Exoskeleton is a big one, and she gives Madness/Reanimator lists some reach. Hazoret won't ever be an EDH Allstar, but she's good enough to at least pop up left and right.

I tried Hazoret, the Fervent in my Gisela burn deck and it was disappointing at best. Damaging each opponent is a big plus in its favor (and why I wanted to try it in the first place), but having to ditch a card to activate it and needing to be "heckbent" to attack or block are both too big of drawbacks. If you actively want the discard to trigger something for Madness or Drake Haven or to set up a reanimation spell then he might be okay, but you have so many better options that cost less than 3 mana to use.
Interestingly enough, LSV recently posted a video showing a Modern Jund deck that had two of these in the maindeck. Hazoret looked absolutely terrible there as well...
I ran it in Olivia, Mobilized for War reanimator. Discard outlet for reanimation (that could also be reanimated) and the deck could dump its hand quickly to turn on attacking/blocking. It was OK. Not terrible, but not spectacular. I had a great moment using Bazaar of Baghdad "fairly" to empty my hand after dropping Hazoret to swing, which was probably the most memorable play with the card.
I still like it a lot in theory. I'm unlikely to run it often because of my aversion to being empty handed.

To be fair, of the five gods we initially meet, she is the one Nicky B perverted the most. (See what I did there?)
I like her for her ability to turn worthless late-game mountains into shocks. Not as broken as Purphoros, God of the Forge (who can just win the game off Empty the Warrens), but still pretty cool.

It's very "depending on the deck". Even Purph, you'll want him as an enchantment unless you have a way to give him infect. Like some Jund deck can just say "Tainted Strike on Purph, Deranged Hermit, GG?"
Pharika, the only reason I can think of to play Pharika is because she's a 5/5 for three mana, and possibly graveyard hate.
There's also if your deck features devotion on other cards. Gary's going to want a lot of skulls on your side of the table.
Iroas is actually good as a creature too, just as a 7/4 with indestructible and menace for four mana. Not many members of the "naked three-shot" club for four mana, even fewer with a sort of evasion and a way to dodge removal.
