Nonbo with Grave Titan, but this guy is pretty useful in zombie decks as a whole. I mean, what's not to love about one-sided boardwipes? Suck it, Rhys!
Journey into Nyx gave us an enchantment version (which is one-sided) with Doomwake Giant.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Not sure that's even true. You have to dump quite a few zombies beyond the tokens produced to kill the Titan, shrinking it actually makes deathtouch more relevant, and the global -2/-2 makes the zombie tokens a lot more threatening to other creatures on board. You could probably ride a Titan and Ghoul boardstate for a while without playing much else, so you have plenty of gas once one or both get answered.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.
One of the PW-Deck Exclusive cards, the ones that work with one of the Origin Flipwalkers tend to be better cause you can have them as your commander, and sadly we don't have a Tezzeret to fill that bill. That said 75% of the Tezzerets are very playable cards and even the remaining 25% isn't exactly bad, so in a Tezzeret-heavy deck, you could consider this. Would've seen more consideration if it hit EACH opponent instead.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
The tutor cards from these decks are intersting and some have some use, but for the most part the ones that rely on having them in play aren't great. This one doesn't inspire confidence in a 40 life format, though it is an absolute beating in 20 life. Ajani's Comrade has relevant tribes and +1/+1 counter synergies on a bear, Wasp of the Bitter End is fun and can potentially be a fine removal spell, and Companion of the Trials can be used to generate tons of mana and other shenanigans.
Sadly, most decks with the Tezzerator himself have better things to do than Lava Spike opponents, even with the potential to double up on interactions with OG Tezzeret untapping him. I don't think I'd legitimately consider this guy even in some sort of hypothetical UB Metalcraft deck.
I think of the Planeswalker deck cards, I'd only remotely consider Ajani's Comrade as an option and even then it'd be a marginal sort of card.

Honestly, I can't see myself running this in a hypothetical deck that runs all four Tezzerets. I suppose it can be played in a combo where you can infinitely untap it, but there's plenty of other creatures that can fill that slot.

Honestly, I can't see myself running this even if it was just "T: Target player loses 3 life."
I agree with FenrirRex. The PW specific tutor cards have some space to play, and I've seen them do some great stuff, but the rest of them are underwhelming. Tez's Simulacrum is an example of a nice card for the product, but not really a good card in general.
I'm not sure if this or Organ Grinder is easier to sustain over a long period of time, but if your tezzeret is sitting on the board and not dieing, you're probably winning the game regardless of the speed you drain your opponents at. A bit better than having a Latch Seeker out since Tezzeret the Seeker and Voltaic Key really speed up this guy's activations. Potentially could be the card you win with when going infinite with Necrotic Ooze?
I think the Simulacrum would be a bit better off as like an 0/6 for that same cost with the same ability, that way it is a big giant wall until the end of your opponents turn when it can ping or lightning bolt an opponent.
What I find interesting about it, is, if this is in play, and you cast OG Tezz, you can grab Unwinding Clockwithout killing Tezz, and then Lava Spike each opponent. These are the types of interactions I look for in basic deck building for traditional EDH. Sadly, most groups have a much higher power level that it just wouldn't work.
Edit: Wow, I thought Alara Tezz was a 5 loyalty guy, nix the above...
This calls to mind the obvious cards: Unwinding Clock, Clock of Omens, that sort of thing. I'm not sure if it's a credible threat, though: With most of those cards, I can think of far better things to do than just Lava Spike.

Seems we're sticking with the theme of "Rather average if not outright poor artifact creatures" today.

Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.

Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
A strictly worse Emerge Unscathed is still a great card for voltronny decks.

Yeah, the obvious comparison is Emerge Unscathed. Another comparison is Flickering Ward, though it lacks the counterspell potential, but you gain recursion. Apostle's Blessing is another comparison, more compatible with Jeskai storm or something; same with Shelter. Another comparison is Mother of Runes, but she's a creature, not an instant, and I don't feel like giving her both haste and flash. And there's Glory, but of course, Glory is everywhere.
Obviously the question is how much of this effect do you want? This is a worse Emerge Unscathed, and I'd probably run Glory, possibly Mother of Runes and Shelter, before this.
