No regenerate tricks, but you usually won't need them.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Why is it the coolest art and titles get wasted on the lamest cards? A yeti should at least be Frost Titan status. Instead it's a wimpy 3/3. You're a wimpy yeti, Drelnoch, go work out until you can bench a beast token at least.
3/3 is the most common power/toughness for Yeti creatures, though.
Hey, can we talk about this? Battlewand Oak can really dish out a lot of damage on the turn after it is played. It's not out of the question to beat in for 9 with this guy on turn four.
Am I the only one who never liked regenerate? It seems I never have the mana open for it when I need it. Much prefer 'indestructible,' 'undying,' or some other anti-removal keyword. For that matter, if you're playing black, you either want your creatures to die to trigger Grave Pact, or you have a reanimator combo coming up. 'Regenerate' always seems to be attached to creatures I didn't want to see in the first place.

I guess I wasn't thinking of lands.dec.

No I did not forget yesterday's RCOTD and no I am not making it up by posting today's early.
Anyway, one of the easiest to splash Eldrazis, and unlike the titans, this guy rarely draws as much hate as annihilator 2 is small enough to be easy to work around. Pretty pricey for a reanimation spell, but being hard to counter and bringing a 10/9 annihilator 2 body along with it makes the 9 mana worth it in enough decks.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Is your deck missing a top end creature with no budget left? This is your answer. Im normally ok with playing this but it often gets cut later because it is pretty expensive.

EDH BRGKresh the BloodbraidedBRG, A box of lands and ideas.
Modern: RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.
I love Artisan. I played it in my Geth deck that was all about getting huge amounts of mana with Urborg/Coffers. I didn't expect much from it initially but it ended up being great.
It is probably too expensive for truly competitive decks the 9 CMC is a full 2 higher than I typically play. I think artisan requires either huge ramp from you or a slow meta to allow the mana to make him possible.

This exactly. I like for even my low-curve decks to have a couple of 8+ mana haymakers, and this is absolutely an acceptable budget option. Ten power and annihilator already makes it a must answer threat and, by the time you're casting a 9-mana creature, you're almost certain to have something worthwhile in your graveyard to bring back.
It's worth noting that this, Void Winnower, and Ghoultree are the only 10+ power creatures at 9 or less CMC with no downside, across all colours (Bearer of Heavens has a symmetrical effect that you often don't want. Breaker of Armies is all upside against a good opponent, but can sometimes work against you versus a less tactically competent player).
Basically, I never feel bad including this in my deck, but most of my decks only want about 2 creatures in the 8+ CMC range and I can usually find a couple that edge out this guy.
My only deck that runs Artisan is my Wrexial sea monsters deck. In that deck, he's part of my Grozoth package. On more than one occasion, I have transmuted Grozoth for Artisan, cast Artisan reanimating Grozoth, and then tutored for 7 cards.
The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
It's a beast in Rakdos, Lord of Riots. He's really good even if I don't reanimate anything with him because on some turns I may actually do 9+ damage and a 9/7 for free isn't bad.
And aside from those there's a few more niche cards you could consider as well.

That's one of the bigger spirits this side of Kamigawa. Doubt it's worth a slot in Human tribal.

i dont think ive ever seen dearly departed in any games in a very long time actually. completely fell off my radar!
its probably too slow though, since it doesn't benefit guys that are already in play. i'd rather just drop a crusade or glorious anthem. cheaper and harder to deal with.

I quite like this card. I have a Humanimator (Teysa) deck that is basically a combo Human Tribal. This card wouldn't be bad in it. I guess the list is just too tight. Its fun in casual R/W human decks though.

At three mana, you have:
Battlewand Oak (meh beater)
Black Oak of Odunos (too bad it has defender)
Cradle Guard (was great in limited at the time)
Doran, the Siege Tower (everyone's favorite!)
Dungrove Elder (I can tell you, this guy's a beast.)
Ebony Treefolk (not the best shade, but has a place in tribal decks)
Gaea's Avenger (a meta call, but can be a huge beater in this format)
Heartwood Storyteller (*cough*grouphug*cough*)
Tilling Treefolk (The Gitrog Monster's third-best friend after Crucible of Worlds and Life from the Loam)
Treefolk Seedlings (does a poor imitation of Dungrove Elder in Doran, but passes the critical Meekstone test)
No regenerate tricks, but you usually won't need them.

Still in a big mana deck, it's a solid card, providing both a decent threat and recurring something else.
