Four CMC is rough. There are definitely better options, even in mono-R. I've always liked Deal Broker, which everyone seems to forget about thanks to the irrelevant draft text.

If you copy the activated ability, Mad Prophet nets you a card, where you loot twice with Broker.
That said, it looks good on paper but is not so great in practice. The haste has been relevant sometimes for me (because Swords of Protection and Value are a thing).

If an opponent stifles the ability, Prophet made you discard a card for nothing. You can come up with corner cases for most situations in this game, but it doesn't change that looting is better than rummaging. Looting is always good. There are very few (no?) scenarios where your hand is going to be worse after activating Broker. Prophet doesn't have the same guarantee.

The card that made Airborne Aid look really stupid.
You can play airborne aid in a creatureless deck but you can't distant melody.
You totally can, and I imagine you'd be more likely to draw a card off of a random creature you stole from someone else than from someone having a bird in play.
I like the flavor text and how it foreshadows Emrakul coming to Innistrad.
I like the ability, but I'm not sure if I'd pay four mana. I'm not too worried about a Stifle, since those tend to mostly be saved for anti-combo tech in my meta.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Haste and combining it with Madness cards. That is really what makes Mad Prophet good. Discard a Fiery Temper, pay R to cast, draw a card during the same turn you cast him. I see no downsides here. Bonded Fetch is nice, but you may not have color access to it or other looters.
Yeah, "first draft" pretty much describes it. If you're starving for card filtering in your colors, you'll usually end up with a Mad Prophet or two. Best I've done with him is in an Alesha deck, since the discard feeds Alesha's reanimator ability, which is usually more crucial than the replacement card you draw. Plus Alesha can reanimate Mad Prophet himself.
But in this day and age, colorless artifact card advantage is good enough that you're never hurting for it in any colors.

Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
The only thing keeping it from being bad is that it is green and so out of left field for the color. I would never play it in a multiplayer game and it might not be strong enough for the more aggressive 1v1 meta. Definitely unique though. With all of the things green is allowed to do, this is probably one of the mechanics that won't ever see daylight in green again.
I have always been a fan of this card in cube. I opted for plow under instead in mine, but I would love to have both.

Extremely oppressive with Wort, the Raidmother stax and/or LD, it won me many battle simply by delaying opponent early on, feed to Vengeful Rebirth and Volcanic Vision and disrupt some more. It may not be as powerful in multiplayer but definitely a powerhouse in 1v1.
Yeah, this can be pretty ridic in Stax-type builds, if you have enough recursion. Green is one of three colors that regularly gets to recur sorceries. (The others are red and blue, but if you're in blue, you have better options.)
It's definitely good as a delaying effect, but that's about it.
(As an aside, I would love to see this ability, or Parallax Nexus, for that matter, moved to white. Just like I'd like to see a white Delay, but I know I won't because rules ambiguity.)

Oh hey I run that in my Hazezon Tamar deck. Very excellent card with the uses it has like others above me have pointed out. One of my favorite uses is forcing the combo player to put some cards back. The delay is wonderful and even if they are able to redraw their pieces with some card draw spell in hand, I found they are usually short on mana to do so.

I've never seen this card before, certainly a unique option in the color. I have fond memories of casting Head Games in 1v1 games. Five mana pseudo-discard effects are good fun.
I've played this along side Plow Under and regrowth spells in Riku. It was very brutal. Hitting two player over and over was just mean. I had to take it apart because people just didn't want to play against it. I would imagine that in Wort it would be the same kind of feeling.
I love that green does this. I want to love the card in general but 5 mana is steep in multiplayer. In 1v1 it's clearly better... but again... 5 mana...
That is without a doubt one of the most unexpected cards in green. I could see this working in Bant Stax against a player with a combo in hand. 5 mana is steep, but since when did mana costs slow down a green deck?
