I love the abzan/4c rally decks in standard and want to make one for edh. I don't really know where to start. tasigur, Sidisi or karador could be good generals for it. Idk lol. Anyone have some ideas or a direction to start or some deck lists similar? I'm not looking to be competitive just have some fun. Thanks.
Oh that card is sweet, wouldn't run it as a general but it would be fun to recur coiling oracle, satyr wayfinder, baleful strix and elvish visionary etc.
Yeah, if you're just looking to simulate the feel of rally decks it can be done, but you will have to use different cards to do so in EDH than you would in Standard. The best mass reanimation card would be Living Death, while Twilight's Call could also get the job done. As far as what you want to reanimate in order to win on the spot, you could include creatures that form infinite game winning combos if that's a play style you are into and your playgroup doesn't frown upon. Or, you could aim to have Craterhoof Behemoth and at least two different Clone creatures among a well stocked graveyard so that you clone the craterhoof twice and send each of the three behemoths at an opponent for lethal. Obviously this requires Sultai colors, so it excludes Karador as an option. This is fine, since blue has better ways to quickly stock a graveyard than white does anyways. Between Tasigur or Sidisi I would go with Sidisi because she fills the graveyard faster, and gives you board presence while doing so. Tasigur is really more of a control General aiming to abuse EDH politics than a reanimation engine. The Mimeoplasm is also definitely worth considering, though he tends to be more of a single target reanimater than a mass reanimtor. Sidisi and dredge do wonders to fill the bin for mass reanimation.
Wake the Dead is also worth considering if you include the right support. It's obviously very similar to rally, but better since it doesn't self exile or exile your own creatures. This allows for continuous abuse. For instance, having an Eternal Witness in the bin allows you to bring back wake the dead repeatedly. Or bringing back Mikaeus, the Unhallowed along with non-human creatures will allow said creatures to remain on the battlefield due to undying. Wake the Dead won't be an "instant win" in EDH unless you include instant speed infinite combos, but you can still gain a lot of utility from this card, especially with lots of ETB effects. It can definitely bust games wide open with the right creatures. Here's an article that talks more about it: http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/rc/you-cant-sleep-when-youre-dead-2014-10-28
Hope this helped. Let me know if you have any questions.

you can use a toolbox of 1 power creatures (and some interesting other creatures)that you may sacrifice each turn to outlets of varying descriptions.
it really plays a lot like rally, though it is sadly mono black. the list is here, for if you are interested.
