MTG Salvation

Hello everyone! My project for today is to put together the toughest, most obnoxious to kill EDH deck.

By default, I'm going with BUG. If someone makes a case for 5c or a different wedge, we can change it.

So far: Torrent Elemental, Ætherling, Misthollow Griffin, Thrun, the Last Troll

Hard to kill like Evacuation, Aetherspouts, Cyclonic Rift, and No Mercy?

Bant Pillowfort, with Angus Mackenzie as the general, an enchantress theme, and tons of defensive enchatments.

Potential obnoxious synergies:

Spore Frog & Kami Of False Hope / Genesis.

Eternity Vessel / Knight Of The Reliquary & Thawing Glaciers.

Ritual Of Subdual / Mana Dorks ( so you can do stuff ) / Eon Hub.

Glacial Chasm / Eon Hub.

Solitary Confinement / Eon Hub.

Generally synergistic cards for this strategy:

Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, Collective Restraint, Sphere Of Safety, Runed Halo, Windborn Muse.

Witchbane Orb, Leyline of Sanctity

Magus Of The Tabernacle, or if you're rich, The Tabernacle At Pendrell Vale

Maze of Ith

Marchesa, the Black Rose makes your creatures damn near impossible to kill.

I also really love playing Ghost Council of Orzhova, board wipes and Spirit Bonds.

You want something like Epochrasite or Endless Cockroaches ?

White seems like the color that is most conducive to setting up an unbreakable board state.

I've always wanted to build a deck that could assemble Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Sigarda, Host of Herons, Empyrial Archangel, Greater Auramancy, and Privileged Position at once for virtual invincibility. Add a Gaddock Teeg and Platinum Angel in play and I think there might be five or fewer cards in Magic that would get your opponents out of this.

EDIT: Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think an uncounterable (Boseiju, etc.) Ghostway in hand is a mortal lock. Throw in a Mindbreak Trap for a Time Stop and my work is done here.

I think the easiest way to protect your boardstate is something like infinite turns (or just a bunch), or Mindslaver lock. Turns out, if your opponents don't get a turn, they don't get to interact with you very much.

Start with Thrun, the Last Troll. Decide on if you want to spend to get Riding the Dilu Horse. If unwanted, grab Rogue's Passage and a myriad of pump effects. He's virtually unkillable and if they do kill him they can't counter him, so you will win by attrition. Sprinkle in Hall of Gemstone or City of Solitude for less shenanigans.

Hmm, sounds like a job for Angel of Jubilation.

Cyclonic Rift still gets there, and people love playing that card.

Plus Angel of Jubilation for Toxic Deluge, plus Soul Foundry churning out Meddling Mages for the corner-case stuff.

Karona, False God also makes an entertaining pillow-fort commander because of the immediate synergy with Eon Hub nonsense and anything that makes attacking you useless.
