So I received her in a trade a few days ago and I am itching to build her. The problem is as I look at deck lists my concept isn't the same as theirs and that makes me wonder if I am going about this the right way or not.
Considering she is in the colors she is I automatically see Pillowfort, she has all the best enchantments and of course artifacts to enforce the pillow fort, not to mention the synergy with Sphere of Safety and all the auras I would want to run.
I also it would be cool to have creatures that benefit from all the auras I would want to run also, so those small creatures that have the wonderful Heroic Trigger would actually be viable in a deck like this. Hero of Iroas, Favored Hoplite, Phalanx Leader just some examples.
Then run a bunch of small auras Ordeal of Heliod, Ordeal of Thassa, Daily Regimen for example to get triggers or when Bruna pulls them all onto her at once she is voltron to finish.
My concern is that Im going in to many directions, should I focus on the pure Pillowfort/voltron bruna or should I focus on Heroic trigger/bruna to finish. Or is the orginal concept doable? Opinions please
I'm not sure if trying to combine Heroic, pillowfort, and the usual Bruna voltron all together can have enough room to work. I like the idea of small creatures and smallish enchantments, you might look at Flying Men type cards. Especially things like Judges Familiar because you can get value off of sacrificing them, then also get value pulling the enchantments that fall off of them out of the grave with bruna.
Maybe if you ran just enough of the creatures to be able to mildly aggressively mulligan into one every game, you might have room in the deck to make pillowfort work. Honestly though, if you just run all of the best (or cheapest $$wise) enchantment/aura tutors, a lot of artifact ramp, and Battle Mastery and Corrupted Conscience for the infect kill, you will win before you need to care about pillowfort. Or you will have lost to a combo that doesn't care about pillowforts anyway.
Whenever I see Bruna I think self-mill voltron, with a heavy suite of control.
Edit: if you go the self mill route, Planar Birth is super sick. Three dreams gets you what you need to knock out a player from the game, but Intuition does it cheaper. Savor the moment is a way to get another turn/K.O. from a roided out Bruna. The Umbra Enchants with her are sweet. Gift of Immortality for protection and Sun Titan Combo with Altar of Dementia.
The pull that you will feel as you build Bruna is that she is an extremely compact killing machine. You only need about half a dozen or so auras total to set her up as an untouchable OTK (One Turn Kill) - any two of Eldrazi Conscription, Battle Mastery, Righteous Authority, or Corrupted Conscience. Then just defensive auras to make sure she can't get killed once she's out - Vanishing, maybe Alexi's Cloak to make sure she can't get Mazed, and Steel of the Godhead to outrace counterattacks and get by chumps. And then of course there's the multi-tutors of Intuition and Three Dreams which are much more efficient than any of the single shot, and can get tutored themselves by Mystical Tutor, Merchant Scroll, and so on.
Now, that's literally all of the offensive power you need in the entire deck. Everything else you could add is just flavor/preference, and will probably not contribute substantially to quickening the turn you're capable of making a lethal attack. Seeing as how UW are the best colors for stopping spells on the stack, ETB triggers, graveyard interactions, and other such common culprits of EDH, a lot of players use that extra room for a Control shell. You don't have to, but I think every Bruna player will definitely feel a strong pull in that direction due to how compact the offensive package ends up being in the deck.
I've been playing Bruna myself for some considerable time, and through all of it the kill condition has remained roughly the same, and I've just gradually learned more and more which defensive measures are the best and most consistent in this format. Up to you whether you want to follow along those lines, but that's what's worked for me.
[EDH] It's built to be a casual format and to a specific vision, and if you don't like the vision, there's nothing wrong with that, but it's not going to change to accommodate everyone. Big tent is not a goal.
Treachery, Abduction and False Demise already got thrown around once in a while as theft effects with added value. Of all those, I found Treachery to be the most solid, the only problem being getting the stolen creature back into the graveyard for when you want to use Bruna and get the untap. Others tend to be win-more after Bruna is out, with the standard old StP being better before she's out. Illusory Gains is one I haven't tried, but I imagine that it's probably the same vein of win-more. If you have Bruna online you should be able to just kill the most threatening player rather than stealing their creatures, and if the best play they have against an active Bruna is a big creature then they probably already lost.
Thanks for the suggestions, Alot of the 1 hit kos for Bruna Im not a fan of as being killed by them multiple times from another bruna player. Im kind of trying a different kind of mold for her and was just asking for advice. I will look into some of the things suggested.
Not alot (I know there was some) of responses to my question if it was viable to build bruna around the heroic small creatures or if it was smarter to just voltron/pillowfort. Im having trouble telling myself to go one way or the Other.

Building bruna anything but voltron is not going to win you games. However if you want to a flavor win, heroic knights and humans being blessed by Bruna sounds cool - don't think it's the best way to build her. Pillowfort voltron is what we're all pointing towards without being explicit.

has anyone tried using Ajani's Chosen and Skybind? im imagining that if you shove say 5 auras onto bruna, you get 5 cat tokens, get to blink 5 non-enchantments (ot remove pesky blockers/tokens).
i think the heroic thing isnt going to be all that effective, since most of the heroic dudes are a bit too underwhelming in a multiplayer format, and its not like they're gonna be any more effective than a flying beater like bruna.
having said that, the voltron aura path is quite singleminded on bruna, and if she gets pacified or something like that, its pretty bumming.
I don't like the heroic angle. Bruna's ability doesn't interact with it in any way, and you end up with a lot of underwhelming guys who can't win by themselves. Barring Fabled Hero - but that is only because of double strike. If you want to run double-strike creatures, I think they synergize better.
I think Voltron is the only viable Bruna build. As far as pillowfort goes, keep in mind that you can still lose through pillowfort. Exsanguinate, Kokusho, the Evening Star, Cyclonic Rift... Some commanders lend themselves to pillowfort pretty well, but Bruna is just an aggressive 1-shot kill. You play hard control - countermagic, wraths - and things that tutor your one shot kills.
If you want pillowfort, I would recommend another general. You have no reason to play Bruna in pillowfort. When I play pillowfort, my general is there to get card advantage or make it more difficult for my opponents to do stuff. Bruna doesn't help you develop the pillowfort.
Spectra Ward offers impressive protection and makes Bruna almost unblockable. Unquestioned Authority makes Bruna truly unblockable and provides a card. Celestial Mantle should typically amount to winning more, but it's entertaining, especially along with Battle Mastery.
