Its best if its relatively cheap. If its subtle, that'll be fun. But, no worries if it isnt.

I am trying to get better at making decks. I have had trouble creating more competitive decks as I only really build with the cards I have. I dont have that many value cards, in function or expense. I (almost) never play at FNM type events so its not like im playing against $2k decks. If I do usally play at one, Its a draft or limited game. Any advice on building decks is greatly supported! DMs are appreciated.
Thank you!
To put it more simply, it's like saying, "I can prove Jesus is real and loves you. See? Here's my Hispanic friend Jesus. He's had a crush on you for a long time. Tell em' Jesus."
Here's a joke! Whats the internal temperature of a Taun-Taun?
If you haveKozilek, Butcher of Truth or Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre in your hand/library you get an infinitely large Mongrel and your whole deck in your hand, and infinite cycles through your deck. This gives infinite mana with Lotus Petal, Dark Ritual, or other such cards in your deck. It is a very convoluted loop, but using Wild Mongrel or Skirge Familiar it avoids the Four Horseman problem because the game-state is always changing.
First, How? I do not understand.
Second, are all of the infinities equal size?

I don't think it would work at all. Since how both Eldrazi would end up back in the deck as soon as they hit the graveyard.

Trolling Magic since 2000.
I play Standard, EDH, and a very tiny bit of Modern.
Costs 1B and 2 life per cycle and requires you to have 2 creatures in hand. Discard 2 → get a zombie, gain 1 life → sac for B → get a spirit, gain 1 life → sac for B, you can now rebuy 1 of the 2 discarded creatures. You'll get some token death triggers but it won't go infinite. Am I missing something
Parasite/Mikaeus/counter doubler for infinite etb/dies is really the combo there. Adding Ascendancy and Grimgrin just takes you from almost compact in 2 colors into a 5C (4C when the new commander decks drop) 5-card combo that won't actually kill anyone.

I thought you had to have a target for Spinal Parasite's ability to be able to activate it and actually remove the counters; With the doublers you only get 2 counters on Spinal, so you can't do like Triskelion and make it target itself.
Even if that is true, in hindsight you could just include something like Rot Shambler to pull that off, staying in 2 colours.
Mizzix of the Izmagnus with four experience counters + Reiterate + Seething Song or Inner Fire (with five or more other cards in hand) or Mana Geyser (with six or more opposing lands tapped). You can either make an infinite loop of casting Song / Fire / Geyser and Reiterate'ing it with Buyback, which you can use to make an arbitrarily large Storm count to cast a giant Mind's Desire, Temporal Fissure, or Ignite Memories. Or you can generate mana with Song / Geyser and sink that into a lethal Comet Storm or Stroke of Genius.
I dont like putting in card tags. it seems tedious.

Mizzix is capable of infinite combo several ways with enough experience counters, though.
Youre right. He seems very broken for this reason. A list of more common ones would be a good idea.
Someone needs to condense all of the suggested combos on this thread to the main post as well.

Nope, it targets a permanent. You can aim the ability at a basic land with no counters of any kind on it and it still works. You can check gatherer rulings for confirmation.

I would add new things in a heartbeat, but I've asked the community nicely at least twice now to format their posts properly because it saves me a ton of work when I do a mass update and still only a few people have done it.

Proud owner of the EDH 'Infinite Combos and Strong Synergies' thread
Please put the colors of your suggestion in mana symbols prior to your suggestion in color-wheel order. To do this, put any of W, U, B, R, G, and/or C, whatever is applicable, with the word 'mana' inside [square bracets] before and the word '/mana' inside [square bracets] after the mana.
Explanation: With all the artifacts in play and Faith's Reward or Second Sunrise in hand, you float all the mana from the rocks and then sac everything to the Ironworks, including itself. Using 3W of it you cast Faith's Reward, returning all your artifacts to the field untapped. You pay 5 to sac the Codex Shredder to put Faith's Reward back in your hand, netting you 1 mana. Sac everything again and recast Faith's Reward. Repeat.
Combine with Skyship Weatherlight, Planar Portal, or Ring of Three Wishes to tutor your deck, Mind Stone or any other rock that can draw a card to draw your deck, a pinger for infinite damage (I like to kill the table by making one of the rocks a Meteorite) and basically get infinite activations out of any artifact in play, infinite ETB and gravestorm from artifact creatures, infinite landfall from artifact lands, etc.
This is easier to assemble than it sounds. For example, a board made up of:
Wispweaver Angel + any Clone variant except Phantasmal Image = infinite ETB
(clone copies the angel, targets the angel, angel comes back targets the clone, rinse and repeat)
Dark Imposter exiling Viridian Joiner and Gilder Bairn = Infinite Counters and Infinite Green Mana
Its best if its relatively cheap. If its subtle, that'll be fun. But, no worries if it isnt.

I play Standard, EDH, and a very tiny bit of Modern.
My youtube channel, I upload gaming related videos and other videos.
Zombie Infestation + Phyrexian Reclamation + Phyrexian Altar + Soul Warden or equivalent + Teysa, Orzhov Scion = Infinite Gravestorm
Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed + Living Death or equivalent + Phyrexian Altar + 6 or more creature cards in your graveyard = Infinite Gravestorm & Mana
Codex Shredder + Sun Titan + Living Death or equivalent + Phyrexian Altar + 11 or more creature cards in your graveyard = Infinite Gravestorm & Mana
Untap a swamp with Relentless Dead and Earthcraft. Sacrifice Relentless Dead with Ashnod's Altar. Use the black mana from swamp to return Relentless Dead from graveyard to your hand and recast it with the 2 mana from altar .
Combo? Synergy? idk: Flayer of the Hatebound+Rise of the Dark Realms+an amount of creatures in graveyards=A lot of damage
Combo: Sandsteppe Mastodon+Conjuror's Closet+Sage of Hours=Infinite Turns
On that note, you can replace a Time Warp with an Increasing Savagery/ a Dromoka's Gift/ an Infuse with the Elements and a Sage of Hours
Synergy: Mizzix of the Izmagnus+Scour from Existence
Synergy/Combo: Ezuri, Claw of Progress+Sage of Hours
Now that I think about it, Combo: Sage of Hours+A lot of things
And now for my favourite combo ever, because it somehow breaks the -1/-1 creature.
Combo: Spinal Parasite+Mikaeus, the Unhallowed+Hardened Scales/Corpsejack menace+Abzan Ascendancy+Grimgrin, Corpse-Born=Infinite ETBs, Gravestorm, Death triggers, very large Grimgrin.

Decks:
Standard- WGU Investigate Control
Modern- RGWU Freed from the Real Combo, BRG Quillspike-Devoted Druid combo, WU Silence Lockdown (work in progress).
Commander- URW Narset, Enlightened Master Control, B Sidisi, Undead Vizier Ad Nauseam 92 Swamps, WUBRG Horde of Notions Five-Colour Cascade Elemental Zombies SuperFriends Goodstuff Combo.

Freezing Point EDH series #1 (click through the other articles too!)
The same works with any other sorcery or instant reanimation spells and any other free sac outlet.
C Metalworker + 3 artifacts in hand
One of the main combos of my deck
U Future Sight + Sensei's Divining Top + a card that reduces the cost of artifacts by 1 or more = Infinite draw
An enigma as vexing as life itself.
Faith's Reward / Second Sunrise + Codex Shredder + Krark-clan Ironworks + Any combination of mana rocks and artifacts, minus the Codex Shredder, that can tap or sac to the ironworks for a total of at least 8W + 1 mana = Infinite mana.
Explanation: With all the artifacts in play and Faith's Reward or Second Sunrise in hand, you float all the mana from the rocks and then sac everything to the Ironworks, including itself. This is easier to assemble than it sounds. For example, a board made up of:
or
are both very reasonable and can combo off this.
Nicol Bolas Dragon Dick
Hanna, Ship's Navigator Heart-attack Stax
Oona, Queen of the Fae Fairy Dance
Vhati Il-Dal Tree of Woe
Scion of the Ur-Dragon Durgensturm
Jolrael, Empress of Beasts Jamuraa's Army
Liliana, Heretical Healer Rise from your Graves and Proliferate
Tariel, Reckoner of Souls Angelic Judgment [
R Mycosynth Lattice+Vandalblast= Wipe all opponents' boards
Captain SisayWG
Kaalia of the VastWBR
Oloro, Ageless Ascetic WUB
Sen Triplets[/card]WUB
Mizzix of the IzmagnusUR
Meren of Clan Nel TothBG
Now you've got a "Damnation" on board .
Except, ironically, for artifact creatures.
(clone copies the angel, targets the angel, angel comes back targets the clone, rinse and repeat)
For example:
1. Phyrexian Altar + Demon of Dark Schemes + Myr Battlesphere - infinite B, infinite tokens, infinite energy counters
2. Phyrexian Altar + Demon of Dark Schemes + Marionette Master - infinite B, infinte life loss
